Sea World was supposed to be open until 7pm for the next couple weeks, but over night they’ve changed it back to 5pm

The koala photos area at DW has reopened again for a limited time

I’ve heard the show is decent, but there is no shading over the seated areas, so it gets very hot

I know this is obvious, but I’ve had confirmation from multiple staff members (higher up in the company) that the ride has retired. And multiple options are being explored

I wish they’ve gone to a bit more effort with the storage bins too. Baskets (probably from Kmart) on the floor don’t say ‘theme park’

Black Hole has reopened And I’ve had confirmation that Surfrider is waiting on new parts to arrive from overseas

What have queue wait times been like? Is it a good addition to the park? Is the ride comfortable? What are the load and unload procedures like?

From what I’ve seen, I think my mine criticism would be there is no ambient sounds playing. All you hear are the motors of the ride, but what about dramatic music as you walk through the entrance and around the ride? Creature of the Deep had some great sounds playing as you walked through the area. Just bring those back if you want to me cheap

I doubt they’ll ever announce its closure. Over the past few years, they never released a statement about the closures of Vikings, Skyway or Mach 5. At some point someone will ask on social media and MW might respond. But that will be it. The ride won’t be touched until they decide on a new attraction. And that won’t be for another couple years.

I think it will, but it’s track route is going to be different. If possible, probably something like this It will be interesting to see if they keep the existing train storage/maintenance buildings though, or if they’ll construct a new one. The track will then still have to link with to this building. The train journey going through these large areas of deserted land is pointless. If they changed the route, that would mean the removal of the Rocky Hollow station (which also doesn’t have any purpose anymore). Leaving Main Street and Corroboree, which I think is all the park needs

Just been to DW and there effort for Christmas this year is pretty poor. They’ve got the circle seat at the park entrance (like they do ever year), but that’s it. No decorations, no Christmas trees. Nothing.

Progress update on the Ice Cream Parlour

Not map related, but signage related. Has this sign always said Wild Life? I thought it had Corroboree on it?

Signage has been added to the fencing out the front and in the park. And here’s a look at the new path. I do like how they are bringing back this classic style of Kenny. Nice little touch. And they really have removed a lot of train track, but areas like this have been left wide open for guests to walk into

Can confirm no coaster today, still undergoing testing. Will hopefully be in the next few days. The store has opened though. Despite the efforts on the park exterior, there was no real effort inside. Pretty much looks the same. They’ve even still got the car track/crowd print on the back wall. The store just sells general merchandise that is found else where

DW list there maintenance differently to VRTP, and the later date shown is the reopening date

I think it’s supposed to represent the rock work that we’ve seen in the concept artwork for Steel Taipain. But based off how the rest of the map is looking, you could be right

I’m thinking they might soft open next week and offical open on boxing day

The old path linking Main Street to GD is now closed and is being removed. A new path has been laid (on the other side of the train line (which also has been removed). Closer to MDMC).
