  1. It could be argued that in recent times MW have been putting the money into restoring and brining new life to a number of attractions and just the general appearance of the park. Over the past two years they have: - Refurbished WWF - Repainted SE - In the process of refurbishing SDSC - Refurbished a number of facades down Main Street - Completely refurbished the WB Department Store inside and out - Refurbished the courtyard to the right of Ricks Cafe - Removed the Chinatown arch - Removed the under utilised western town and installed a whole new area and ride. - Resurfaced paths -Refurbished toilet facilities Yes, the JL probably hasn't had every effect operating since its original opening, but when I went on it yesterday all the major effects which assist with the story line were working. I'm not trying to make excuses and that the park should just forget about it. Of course a ride should nearly always have its effects working as it is what can make the ride great.
  2. @Reanimated35 I just watched multiple videos and this is the list of things that didn't work Entry smoke Person at the top window Barricade arm going up Star lord projection Some lights on the ship Some lighting effects/projections
  3. Went to MW yesterday for the first time since about May, so will just comment on a few things. Firstly, the park was near empty with every ride being nearly a walk on, longest we had to wait was 10 minutes. It was great to see they've left some of the things out from the DC event, creating more photo opportunities. There seemed to be more character appearances than I remember, as there always seemed to be one out and about. And WW did come out on her float, which looked amazing. Rhode all the rides, which were all had their effects working. SE had some effects like the drop of pipes with the smoke coming out of them (which I haven't seen happen in a long time), GL had its audio working and JL had all its effects working. When I last went the audio from the TVs that they have in the queue of AA and the joker audio they play as you board was clashing, but they have since resolved that, and it works really well. Good on MW for putting in the effort. Hadnt watched HWSD since last year, so wanted to see if there were any differences. And there were, they had a few more comedic elements, but overall it is still a pretty bad show. One of the staff directing guests was providing some good entertainment, dancing and having a laugh with guests, and for me that really made the show. MW should really bring that role back and provide some pre show entertainment. And DC Rivals just towers over everything in the park now, and literally can be seen from nearly everywhere in the park.
  4. Ride has gone through testing a couple times today. As you can see above, steel framing has gone in at the entrance to the queue area. More theming has gone up to (the curved wall had the flash on it). Went on SE and GL and can see that all the paths are now laid through the queue, as well as vegetation through out. The station (externally) also appears to be complete now.
  5. Despite the website being really slow, I eventually managed to get through to the ticket purchase page, and it seems pricing has gone up and now ranges from $40 to $60 (Last year it was $30 to $50). Also adding to my earlier comment about DC Rivals, it also says: If the DC Rivals HyperCoaster is operational during Fright Nights it will not be eligible for Fast Track.
  6. Website does seem to be having some issues at the moment though. And the slogan this year is: If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear.
  7. Also, under the rides section it says this: "And what is the answer to the question on everyone’s evil lips? Will the DC Rivals HyperCoaster run for the very first time at night…you will have to stay tuned to find out…"
  8. The website has gone LIVE, and tickets are now on sale: https://frightnights.com.au
  9. Interesting to see that the Surfrider still doesn't have a reopening date, as it is usually at this time of year that it will reopening. It still states on the website that it is "Closed from Wednesday 19th April 2017"
  10. To be fair, they haven't installed it yet though, so we can't judge it until complete
  11. They've also removed the information about the Zombie Termination
  12. It has now been updated:
  13. @Skeeta isn't the issue people were having was that one side of the Joker head is just the metal, while the other side is painted and will be lit up. But I'm saying, that yes it would be good to have the same finish both sides, but will still be cool as you go up the lift hill, you will be staring at it
  14. Even if joker head isn't coloured or lit up on the side facing the park, you will still see it as you go up the lift hill, and if they had some sort of audio had you passed over the crest of the hill, would be pretty cool. If some like the joker laughing, would really add to the ride. I am really interested how the theming turns out in regards to linking to the name, and how they display the DC characters rivalling, particularly in the station.
  15. When you look at the website on a phone, it shows it a bit clearer, and seems there will only be 4 mazes this year
  16. Can confirm that the WW float is in the daily parade now
  17. It seems that as you walk through the gates next to GL, you'll go around to the left, then that will be the start of the queue/theming area. And there will be more screens/walls just to the right too (Photo TPSN)
  18. From all the photos and snaps I saw, it really looked like put a lot of effort into the event and really went all out with the Neon theme. Great to hear there were queues for ride at the event, and I think mixing the theme up every month (especially if they are doing them monthly) is a great idea
  19. Just seen a news report on the coaster and they stated that the coaster is costing $30 million
  20. It's good to see they installed fixed fencing instead of keeping the temporary stuff they had there
  21. The Joker head has been joined together and put onto stilts while the final works are completed. Mack officials are also throughout the site (particularly coming in and out of the station)
  22. @Locke Spoiler alert. The coaster is at its highest point (Unless you are counting the Joker head going on top)
  23. In the latest VIP Pass email it says down in the fine print: *DC Rivals HyperCoaster first to ride access will allow qualified pass holders special access to ride on selected dates prior to the attractions opening to the public in October 2017
  24. DW have just posted some videos on their snapchat showing a sneak peek for the Zombie Evilution at Park After Dark, and they've had glow to do the scare actors, and it actually looks pretty cool.
