I emailed them and they said this: Unfortunately the effect of fire has not been commissioned for the Storm Coaster; regrettably it was not known it would not be in effect until after the television ad was made. Sorry to cause you any disappointment. The idea of fire has not been completely ruled at this stage so feel free to contact us again in the future for any updates.

I would rather they didn't do anything at all then. And before they do any of this, they need to turn the Danger sign upside down.

I don't think much happened after it rained a lot of the day. I would just say there may be some fencing all the way around it.
-
So does that mean we will see fire one day?

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
themagician replied to WED99's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah something similar to that. Obviously it won't be as big, but I think it will be a great addition to the park, something that the whole family can enjoy. -
I am disappointed then. Yes I do think that Storm Coaster is a good ride, but it would have been even better if they had the fire effects. When they first announced that this ride would be coming soon they said it would have amazing water and fire effects. Well we have good water effects outside, just before the final splash down. We have the dump bucket that doesn't entirely get you depending on where you are sat. And no fire effects. Storm is a good ride, which pretty good theming, but it would be better if they had these extra things, especially since the inside section of the ride isn't very big.

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?

Maybe a roller coaster like that one would be a good idea. It could have a story to the ride and it slows down and speeds up throughout different sections. There could be animatronics looney tunes characters that could be guiding you through the ride and saying things like "look out" and "over there". Eg. The ride could speed up to get away from TNT as the Kyote is lighting some. That's just an idea. -
I agree with you on that one. It would be good if they had some of the theming closer to the boats. It doesn't matter if there is or isn't fire on, there could still be parts of theming that doesn't need fire. Something I noticed on the tv advert was the fire effects. I don't know if this was recorded in from inside the ride or not (I think it is), but it would seem that the gasolines are all there and connection, they just aren't turned on. Maybe it is just issues with the council. (fire effect is 15 seconds in)

Back on topic. I wonder if the Wipeout will provide a new ride experience. I mean in the way that it will flip and turn in a different order. Dreamworld may add something extra to the ride as well. I don't know what they could do, but they might have a trick up their sleeve.

What would you like to see at Gold Coast Theme Parks soon?
themagician replied to Santa07's topic in Theme Park Discussion
With the old LTRR building I think it would be good to include a number of other small rides in there. Dreamworld has easily got the best kids area out of all the GC parks. Even though MW has a few family rides, it definitely needs more kids rides. I would be quite happy for MW to have another small water ride, but in the building. -

With the gravity ride they could have something similar to space mountain. This would fit the theme of gravity and plenty of effects could be added. It could almost be a more thrilling version of the Scooby Doo spookey coaster. -
The parks already apps so they could easily update them to feature this
-
Or for people who have a VIP Pass they get free locker hire. I think that even the though the app idea might sound good at first, it will probably be more of a hassle.

Wet n Wild: I don't think they need anything else at this stage, they are pretty good. Movie World: They need to do something with the old LTRR building. As I have said a number of times, I would like to see something similar to the ride in cars world in disneyland, obviously on a smaller scale. Sea World: Well since they have reclaimed the land now, they need something that is really good. I was looking forward to WILD, so I would like to see this, but otherwise something thats interactive, like dinosaur island. Also, even though Sea Viper has been at the parks for many years now, I think they should just replace all of the track, if that is what is causing issues. Dreamworld: I think its good what they are doing with Wipeout. As they are removing Reef Diver they should have a new attraction that hasn't been seen on the Gold Coast before. It won't be something to big, but it can use the area of RD and the old octopus ride. As we have all said they need to do something with the mine ride. I would quite happy to see something similar to what it was or Scooby-Doo there. And as I have said plenty of times, they need to upgrade the train of Cyclone and repaint the queue line and remove the turbine. WWW: Just add another tower with 2 or 3 slides. Ones similar to the ones at WNW Sydney that aren't already on the Gold Coast, like the Tantrum or bombora or typhoon. -
I didn't know that.

That wouldn't work because I work in a supermarket and if people give me their phones to scan an offer or loyalty card and they don't ever work, because the scanners are not able to scan screens, so I have to write in the barcode number. So basically, it is a good idea, but won't ever work.

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
themagician replied to WED99's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That could be a possibility, but I personally don't think they will. I would think that the hole would be an entrance (But for now easy accessibility). I would like to see some sort of track ride (Not driving cars, they have already got one of them right next to the building). I have said this before, but I think they should have a ride similar to the one in Cars World at Disneyland, where you are in vehicles and you go through an area slowly and then zoom out. Obviously it will be no where near as big, but I think it will be a good addition to the park. -

Either the hole in the building is for where the entrance for the new ride would be, but for now it is so they could move things in and out of the building more easily. -
I agree with that, but they just want to get as much money out of people as possible. The same reason why sea world haven't removed the train gate.
-
You got me. Stupid mistake.
-
Sorry, I quickly read it and didn't take full notice of the sarcasm.
-
You say he will likely get wet, but he is going to a water park where he will get wet. WnW will be a bit cold though, so I would also recommend MW.

I found this photo on facebook. I think it was taken yesturday: (source: theme park social network)

Sea World Wild: What Could It Be?

I don't have a pass or time. I'm just asking the people who have been recently, who have taken notice. I'm not asking people to go out of their way. -
