  1. Or they will theme the queue area more to make it look like a subway station, and update the video, and most importantly install aircon
  2. Great to hear they are doing this, I wonder if like WC they will make use of the lights and other elements (smoke machines, fire machines, etc) to the parade. Maybe these holidays we will see the park remain open until 7 then.
  3. I highly doubt it is cost cutting and more like general maintenance or trying to improve the rides. GL is closed because of the new coaster construction, and then the second time for actual maintenance. SDSC is likely for maintenance and then the refurb, WWF might be to fix issues that its had since it reopened last year. And SE, I don't know, but due to the rides complicated systems it may just need extra down time, or maybe it will be receiving some love also (despite having its repaint last year). The past couple of years the park has really worked on approving the appearance of everything, and bringing most things back to life/former glory. And with a world class coaster opening this year, the park will hopefully receive plenty of attention, and more and more visitors will be coming. And finally, it's much better have this all done during non-peak periods than closing them during holidays.
  4. The workmen were inspecting the brakes of the ride. I'm not saying this rules out that it definitely won't be removed, but from what I saw them doing, it looked like maintenance.
  5. The crane is just for maintenance
  6. @Skeeta Yes it has, but I'm thinking what you're thinking too. That would be a very smart move if they did.
  7. Just went past the park, and there is a giant crane positioned right next to the Surfrider, I couldn't see it lifting anything, and the ride is still in one piece. But maybe this is the end of the ride, or it's just there to lift off the surfboard so maintnece can be conducted. Or something else.
  8. So far, the painted leaves effect on the walls isn't quite as nice as the rest of the area. But it isn't quite finished so will hold off on final thoughts on it, but I do hope they fill the space with tall vegetation to blend it
  9. Yeah, but if you aren't coming to the GC and passing throughout, from anywhere, then it would be a nice place to stop, rather than a servo. And then stopping there may get people to visit the park another time, or on there return road trip back, which is what DW would want.
  10. The thing they need to do now is advertise on the highway, in both directions that DW have these facilities without having to enter the park. It would be the perfect place to stop and get a bite to eat, have a toilet break, and then let the kids play in the LEGO Store, and then maybe even buy something. DW have really set something great up here to attract even more people, without even having to enter the park. A billboard on the highway before the park in both directions advertising a 9-6 rest stop, with food, drinks, toilets and the Lego Store would be a great idea for them.
  11. DW themselves say its not a thrill ride, as they class it as a moderate intensity ride, despite being a part of their Big 9 Thrill Rides. As you say, it isn't this reason for why it isn't an enjoyable ride. For me, the main issue is comfort. I've never been on a more uncomfortable ride. The idea of riding like your on a motorbike is good, but poorly executed, extra padding may sort the issue out, but I've seen plenty of rides, which have a 'motorbike' train and your legs don't lean against anything. The leaning forward position isn't uncomfortable for me, it's purely where you put your legs and having them pushed against the plastic. Exposing the leg area would solve this issue dramatically. As for the rest of the ride, the only way it could be resolved is through complexity redoing the track, and I doubt that is an option right now.
  12. Considering a meal is anywhere between $15 and $25 (average) and a snack is between $5 and $15, I'd say that is very good value.
  13. No major construction today. A new shipping container has arrived on site. And a crane is moving some supports.
  14. The only knowledge I have of AA is the game, a very good game in fact. And I think the ride is very well themed, but really it is themed around the Asylum in which the joker has taken over, with Harley Quinn. The other villains are still captured within their jail cells, and Batman is looking over the asylum to stop the jokers plans. That's my thoughts on the story/theme on the ride. So yeah, technically it isn't joker themed, but he is an essential part to the story of it.
  15. Even if you aren't going to ride it, it's going to be great to watch, and with it being right at the front of the park, everyone will notice it, and if they like coasters, they will want to ride it. Even when in the park, despite most being hidden, yesterday when I was there, when you walk straight into the park, and look left, you can see it, even though they've only installed the first parts of the lift hill. The majority, if any of us, don't know the budget. I tried looking for the cost of The Flash in Lewa park, but couldn't find it, anyone know what it cost? Also found that that coasters track was completed in mid August, trains arrived shortly after, and opened NYD (To give an idea of how much testing was done). From the plans of the station we've seen, it does appear there will be a straight bit of track (for potential theming, something on the level of Storm Coaster as a build up to the lift hill). The queue area I think will be where we will see the majority of theming, and I'm sure it will be good as this is MW, but to what level they take this theming and how will intergrated it, we will have to wait and see.
  16. Yeah, originally I never thought it was WW, but the more and more i think about it, the more I think it's likely. I know that the colour, except for being a feminine colour, doesn't relate to WW, but I can't think of any other DC themed, and inconic character, worthy of this scale of coaster. Suicide Squad would also make sense, but I can't see it happening purely because of the DW incident (Dreamworld changed their night event name because of it, and I think anything related to the subject matter is a bit touchy and will be for a long time). There have been a few characters that I've thought it could be, but they aren't well known and for this scale of coaster, can't see it happening. And there are already plenty of Joker themed rides in the park. Bizzaro still is a possible option for me, and makes sense in regards to it being supermans villians, and the two major Coasters in the park rival each other. I'm sure what ever it is, will make sense and we won't be disappointed
  17. Just to give people an idea for those who haven't been to the site, the middle supports in the image below is the one shown above
  18. I thought so to, but until now the cranes have remained on site, even if not in use, but today they are sat unused in the carpark. And because of the lift hill needing to be constructed while GL is closed, I imagine there focus will mainly be here now.
  19. You're correct @Tim Dasco. There are only the track pieces for the loop left in the carpark, the rest is jut supports. And it seems that the majority of them are now on site. I'd say we will see the rest of the track over the next couple of weeks
  20. Lift hill construction has begun. Tonnes of supports in the area, and workmen preparing footers around the area. All cranes are now in carpark, with no more pieces installed for the loop. EDIT: And here's a few more pictures
  21. Just thought of an issue that my idea has. The majority of the time there will be more than one boat going up the lift hill at any one time, so the idea of the sparks following you up wouldn't work as the boat thats down the bottom would get the effect, but the one at the top would. So this would mean that only one boat at a time could enter the lift hill, which could slow down the dispatch time and capacity of the ride.
  22. "The Sea World team have been closely watching Liya and her cub on state-of-the-art monitors since birth and now guests at the park can share this experience with the launch of ‘Cub TV’. Cub TV provides guests with an exclusive look into the maternity den as well as a series of feature stories on the cub’s development on a large screen at the Sea World Plaza and on a number of screens at Polar Bear Shores. We will be changing the content regularly so make sure you come to Sea World to see this exclusive vision In Park today."
  23. The idea is the mountain is about to blow, so i think if there's a projection of someone at the base of the mountain lighting TNT, and then the spark trails (LED strips) lead all the way up the mountain, and then into TNT barrels at the top, with the sound of an explosion behind you as you exit the mountain. Maybe even some smoke machines just outside of it, to make it appear the mountain did explode.
