  1. Well here's my update, and some new things we hadn't noticed yet. Along with the completed turn around point, new supports are going up, which appear will twist under and then back of the track. Some supports further down are installed, as well as some down the narrow run (around the lift hill area) and near the brake run. Very tightly twisted track has arrived. More stair pieces have arrived. And there are also some very thick columns.
  2. Was there ever a reason for the closure of the aquarium, because despite being relatively small and hidden, it was really nice, and a good way to enjoy a wide variety of fish and frogs? You do make a good point, and agree they should bring something like that back, adding in jelly fish, octopus (that would be cool) and a range of other creatures would be good. Castaway Bay for me is probably one of the best themed areas on the coast, and is really a hidden gem because it doesn't stand out, and you do really only notice it on the way to the dolphin show, because not many people venture down that end of the park. So maybe some sort of ride/attraction would be more than welcomed.
  3. That'll make the blue screen for the filming that takes place in the tank. Or they just liked the colour.
  4. Sea Viper was the main one. But I had noticed parts of the water park structure had some rusting when I'd been on it a couple of years ago.
  5. One thing I feel like they should include on the website, is a more specific list of what qualifies for this deal or not. The categories provided aren't specific, and within those there are a lots of other jobs. Plenty of people are asking on each of the parks pages about if their job clarifies, and even my page has had a few messages if something clarifies.
  6. But they wouldn't need the whole water park area (if that is the location for it) for that exhibit, surely. When you look at it in satellite image, it isn't a massive area, and I couldn't see them putting a ride here with it being so close the water, and the issues that has caused in the past. I do think this area would be good for an animal exhibit, and jelly fish is really the only thing they haven't got (And it may not sound exciting, but I've been to one before and some the species of jelly fish are pretty cool). I think they should keep the rides in the current area and reclaimed land part of the park, and exhibits around the edges (as they've done so far).
  7. @Santa07 I do agree with that, and there are probably too many smaller boxes. But do remember that when the ride first opened (and for a couple of years) you couldn't use these as they were only for prescription glasses, and all other stuff had to go in lockers. The only thing that was great about that was the speed of loading was great, and there at times be 3 trains on the track at any one time (lift hill, mid course, and final turn into station).
  8. DW does have boxes for all the rides that need them, and so does MW, except for SE, which I agree, should have free lockers for pass holders.
  9. He has assumed that it's for the Vikings Revenge replacement, which is two years away. Yeah, doubt that.
  10. Well it could've been taken down a while ago, and we didn't notice, or this point is accessible without scaffolding
  11. Just a thought. If they were taking down the mountain already, surely there would be scaffolding visible around this area?
  12. My old pass for DW was laminated, until they upgraded me when I expired in Feb (but because of the additional 6 months I got this one). I think it gives a much better impression, and they are way more better quality. I know the laminating is cost cutting, but surely it can't cost that much more to print them on plastic.
  13. @Theme Park Girl this is the new design. It's very nice to actually have a plastic card, unlike VRTP laminted paper
  14. And just a side not, if you've never been on that coaster, it's pretty good.
  15. Well, it's only been 10.5 years, but it looks like it's finally happening. I really do hope they are removing the whole mountain
  16. About bloody time. Thanks for the photos @Skeeta. Maybe we will see a new attraction at SW this year. I imagine that the fenced off carpark is either for the pieces to be moved too for collection, or in preparation for a new attractions arrival.
  17. Harley Quinn and dead shot are the two many characters of the film
  18. The next piece that goes up is currently being fixed in place
  19. And as said, it is a superman cape for girls. I've always thought that. It is a lot more appealing to most girls, rather than the standard cape.
  20. Our first double enforced piece of track is in place, which I think really gives an idea of the speed and forces the coaster will reach at this turn around point.
  21. I'll definitely be renewing my pass for DW, not only to show my support, but because I love the park. As @joz has said, you actually feel like the staff want you there, and are always making conversation, smiling and having a laugh. VRTP on the other hand. There are some great staff at MW and SW, but I think that is one of the things that really lets down the parks. I don't expect them to all be happy, all the time, but just a hello when walking into the park would be good enough (the majority of the time they do, some staff don't bother though). In regards to Tiger Island, of course a massive all new coaster will generate plenty more interest than a smaller exhibit (and remember that was originally planned to be opened with the original offical opening last year).
  22. But you could go to DW for 9am, have breakfast, play with some LEGO, buy some Jelly Beans, and then go to MW for the coaster. In serious though, I do hope DW do pull something out of the bag this year, but am doubtful as they have to remove the river rapids. But there is also the Corroboree stage 2 as well. I think this year for DW is about making the park looking great in all aspects. WWW could always install a couple of new slides.
  23. Just gone past and all the supports in the top photo are currently being installed. And you can already tell how intense this drop and turn around point will be, and is very much going to be like how it is shown in @docoaster photo
  24. Very exciting and great news for SW
