  1. And you can see in the middle of the piece, on the top there is a support connection point too.
  2. @mission Blue Lagoon was the water park within DW, which is what you see in that image, next to the BB studio. It was that volcano/mountain which had multiple slides. @Cactus_Matt haha I thought you did mean that, but thought I'd post a close up anyways, as that is as good as are going to get. When BB was still around and the house opened to the public after the show finished, you walked past this area, and could see the majority of it is still there they've just filled in the Pools. You could even use the toilets that were there, and there were still the shop/locker area there, just fenced up.
  3. And DC are very strict with the licensing of characters in parks. All details need to be accurate, with characters represented correctly.
  4. Could more photos from later today from TPSN. You can see how many supports they fit in a container, and they've also installed the second roof cover
  5. Construction fencing first appeared back in early July. Permanent fencing materials arrived mid August. Land clearing began soon after this. Mack crates arrived beginning of September, and footing construction began soon after. With them completed early december. Opening date announced mid December. And the permanent fence began construction early January.
  6. @Fultre Definitely more than 4 pieces of support
  7. I worked out 145 supports, based off the amount of larger holes in footings, but that's a rough number.
  8. I think it's because, today villains are almost just as popular as the heroes, there are some awesome villains outdoor and with all the comic book films coming out, we are getting to see and know more about them. They even made a film about villains. For most kids, superheroes are still their favourites and they look up to them, but in general villains are becoming just as popular
  9. That's a pretty cool image, but I wouldn't want them to call it Bizzaro Escape. SE suits because superman is helping you escape the train line which is collapsing from the earthquake. Bizzaro's Revenge is my pick. I don't want them to take what they did with SE in regards to the symbol, name etc, because SE is its own ride and is awesome. So this ride should be its own and just as awesome.
  10. Four new shipping containers have arrived on site this morning (Photo: TPSN)
  11. I doubt they would ever get rid of the ride, or the GD, and if they did for whatever reason, they would never remove the tower. The amount of cost and effort that would take would be rediculous
  12. That ampitheatre has been used quite a bit since Big Brother and quite recently. I went to a sports presentation event towards the end of September, and it was used. And it was the year before too, but I have been told that it's been used on multiple occasions, but to my knowledge, not since the accident. But I agree that it does need to go, or upgrading, as it isn't that nice from the wear and tear over the years. But Blue Lagoon definitely needs to go, so much land there that could be used so much better.
  13. So no columns installed, but first roof is, but along with 3 new contains is all this piping and sheeting.
  14. I'll be passing the site soon, so stay tuned
  15. They are, but that isn't a priority for the park right now. They are currently focusing on finishing their other projects and getting people back into the park. I imagine it will be removed later in the year, and maybe install a memorial afterwards (maybe one year after the events), that's if the families want one there
  16. The image was taken just after the ride came out of maintence, so probably the reason why it's within its footprint
  17. The truck and digger near what will be the new road into MW during the coaster construction are now gone, and a large pile of gravel is in its place. Im thinking that we won't see that begin to be used until after the easter holidays, due to the such high traffic that will be going into the carpark, so that gives a couple of weeks for the majority of track and supports. And then as soon as holidays are over, the temporary road in will be used and vertical construction will begin. And should be complete or almost in time for the winter holidays when the larger crowds will return and the road will reopen as normal. Also, if this correct, but to give a comparison of lengths: Thunderbolt was 1207m long Superman Escape is 760m long And AA is 765m long
  18. @ThemeTendo requested for a high quality image of all of DW and WWW, so incase anyone else wanted to see it, here it is (Images from the early March update):
  19. A new partnership has started today, replacing R.W. Williams. They are now with the Australian clothing company, Ringers Western. The sign on the roof showing the R.W. Williams logo has already been replaced with Ringers Western.
  20. Yeah you're right @Aimsley81 it was scheduled from 24th April to 29th May.
  21. If the theme is Bizarro I really do hope they use that opportunity and have an advert saying it's the ride that versus SE (not exactly those words, but something that shows how extreme/awesome this is going to be(. And if they are saying it's the greatest attraction in the Southern Hemisphere, then they certainly think it will be.
  22. Oh right, understand it now. This update was not long after the fences appeared, was around the beginning of March. So there could possibly be closer to 250 supports if there is more than one column per footing.
  23. So if there is 193 supports, that would mean there are over 200 pieces of track for the coaster, depending on its design. WOW. Just as a comparison, does anyone know how many supports and track pieces there are for SE?
  24. Okay, a ride, depending on what it is what, and their target audience could help, but I don't think financially right now it would. I know the general park improvements don't get overly noticed if you haven't been to the park before, but it makes it more appealing and inviting, and can be done a lot cheaper and easily than a ride. Each to their own, and of course I'd love another new ride to come to DW and especially to WWW, but just can't see it happening this year.
