Just been to MW to check out DD for the first time, and I must say the ride is much bigger than how it looks through photos. The whole area is looking great, and a few new things have been added since previous updates:

Well I got my VIP Pass at SW yesterday and it's now paper.

So I got a VIP Pass today, and the quality of the pass is getting cheaper and cheaper. When they first came out it was plastic, then paper laminated, and now it's just a bit of paper. Talk about cost cutting.

Just been to SW, so here's a quick update. Doesn't look like there's a water fountain going in. And footing for the roof are now in place:

^That idea sounds plausible, and I really think that entering through a building into the space would really add to the experience of it all. With them all being villains, you'd want to keep them in an enclosed area and not have it open where they could escape.

Do people think that the enterance to the area will be from the left (near the SDSC exit is) and the facades will carry all the way around, so once in the area you don't get an hints of the WW area, or they'll leave it open and you enter the area either side of that slab?

I too thought it we going to be for the queue, but now seeing that wider shot, and the theming behind the control room seems like the place for it. I agree @xRazzBerryx, that would be pretty cool.

Weren't there sparks as well and that's what caused the fire?

Well don't they use a high pressure air system during the backwards drop, just as you are about to leave the mine shaft?

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WWF NEEDS. I think at the bottom have a few TNT spark strips following you up, and then when the guy says 'What you all still doing here, get out, get get get get get out', that's when there are tonnes coming. The turntable should have TNT props all over the floor and walls, and then just before you drop there is smoke and an explosion sound.

But I suppose it is one way to make sure people see everything. But if people are regulars, like some of us, it would be annoying.

^And at SW its not the rides that are closed, but the paths.

Maybe the whole area will receive a refurbishment then, not just the ride?

Yep, they definitely need to raise that wild west wall and hide the back of that framework, or theme the back of it to the western area. I highly doubt they'd leave it blank.

Thinking about it, there would be some positives for making the back section indoors, but they wouldn't do it because of the costing. And they can make the experience just as good, if the right effects are added.

I agree with you @Slick. I think little touches the story and theming would be great, as you said with lighting inside the huts and updating the projections. I think some smoke blasts/effects would also be good through the town as the shooting happens. And I don't think they'll add all the effects that were at the top of the lift hill before the fire, but something extra needs to happen. An idea could be to get rid of the mirror and add a tv/projection showing some txt being lit and about to explode, and thats why you have to escape the mountain.

Hopefully they will be repainting the whole mountain, because to my knowledge I don't think it's ever been done, if it has probably only once. Regarding effects I'd like them to add a couple at the beginning before the first lift hill. They used to have that small crane moving back and forth, so I think they should replace the space, rather than having just a pile of dirt. And hopefully repaints and fix ups of effects through the back area of the ride, as well as adding some new, or replacing current effects.

Maybe, the winner of last years Reel Horror Film competition will have their film either turned into a maze or precinct.
