  1. So it will return, but the question is, when. I don't totally understand why they are doing it this way But in the mean time you can get a Local's Season Pass. So no free access to Carnivale, but we do get a meet a dolphin for free.
  2. I'm going to say that hole is for the ride. But it would be pretty cool if it was for Killer Croc from Batman, and you went down a ramp into a sewerage themed area and Croc was there.
  3. No didn't get any. It's nothing special really. The shop is just the exit room where the screens with your score were. The door that you came through has been blocked off with merchandise. The register/counter is in the back right corner where the roof is lower, and storage through a door in a small room behind it. All the walls have shelves, and there are stands in the middle. So I couldn't tell you if the briefing bays have been gutted as you can't get to them.
  4. Popped into DW this morning. TI is now fenced off. Cub Kindy is getting finishing touches. And the shop is now open.
  5. I think AA is very quiet, but GL on the other hand is very loud, but one of the quickest lifts hills I've been on.
  6. The top image is a promising sign, but that second one i can't figure out.
  7. So turns out Jamie Durie is the designer behind the new Tiger Island. And apparently the concept art was shown on 7 News, did anyone manage to see it?
  8. I've had on board audio everytime I've ridden GL since it reopened it. And the toilets at MW are always filthy, and all of them are. Even after an hour in the morning, the floors are dirty and muddy. It might just be because they mop them and don't give them enough time to dry. Most of the wall lights have been taken down, but the roof ones are always left uo, as said, sometimes there are private events that will use them.
  9. I suppose it makes good use of the space for now and is a good way to get close to the cubs. I wonder if they'll be putting some fake grass over the concert. I imagine it would be a hot ground, until it starts to cool down a bit.
  10. From my memory id say the Australia Zoo wall is about 5 metres high. The one at DW is probably about 3. And the area wouldn't be big enough for the adult tigers anyways.
  11. ^That's what I was thinking at first, but if they are doing everything that is rumoured or that was spoken about last year, then it could take most of the year. We will just have to wait for an announcement from DW
  12. Theme parks all in one posted about the Tiger Island renovations, saying about the stadium layout, new enterance, gift shop/cafe and nursery/cub play area. Which I believe will happen. But they commented that DW hope to have it open prior to Christmas. Do people think it would take this long, obviously we don't know full details, and the scale of this refurbishment, but I'd be thinking it would reopen for September school holidays. Thoughts?
  13. For all we know though, the should stage may stay for now, but might not be pulled down until the construction for the coaster begins, if that is where the coaster is going.
  14. I would say the 'world's best' would be the coaster. I've never ridden a Intamin Suspended Twin Hammer, but seems like a decent ride, and a good addition to the park.
  15. No, neither do I. But that's my point. I know they are cute tiger cubs, but do they need to build a new enclosure for them during the refurb. I do suppose as they are Cubs they would need to be active, and learning, etc.
  16. ^For a temporary area for the Cubs, then it wouldn't be as bad, but if it's permanent, then I'd be a little dissapointed. But the same could be said about the larger tigers, where will they be on display during the refurbishment.
  17. I'd say it would be April again this year, and I'm fairly sure last hear they announced dates in the 2nd week of March. So not long now.
  18. That idea would be the worst. I can't imagine MW ever changing the theme of WWF
  19. So that pretty much confirms the type of ride. The streetscape elements for the characters sounds interesting. As well as the number of park improvements. I'm going to say this includes WWF upgrades, maybe a SE repaint.
  20. ^Seems a bit out the way really. Why not have it in that patched area next to the lair. Wouldn't that make more sense, or is that path used by staff and any machinery for access into the park? It just wouldn't make sense to have tigers in Ocean Parade. And it's a bit of a crap spot anyway to put something like this. I do hope this isn't true, otherwise DW are going backwards again.
  21. I'm very much looking forward to these attractions. I think it is safe to say it will be in the currently fenced off area. It would have been nice to have a ride themed to something seperate from the DC Universe. But as stated, DC comics are as popular as ever, and with the number of films coming out in the next 5 years based on the character, it's fitting. And just because it's themed to something some people aren't happy about, isn't going to stop them from riding it, and if they like it and the area is themed well, then people will stop complaining. I do this however that the two DC comics area will need to have some link, and as said, this probably won't happen until the coaster is installed, if it is between the areas. There seems to be plenty of space for a coaster, which could have the station and queue in the sound stage, which could allow for some very immserve theming. If those smaller buildings were removed, then that is a large space for a coaster, and could be MWs largest. That could then provide a linking path to the courtyard of AA. I'm also thinking that the area will be opening on the first FN of the year, and maybe the exclusive preview of the area for the pass members will get to see the area and ride DD during the day leading up to the FN.
  22. When I was at DW yesterday the train had broken down, and maintenance were doing work to it in the main station, so I'm assuming they couldn't fix the problem so they've brought out the steam one until fixed.
  23. I'd forgotten that they weren't removing it. So yes that means I'm referring to the whole corner of the park being Tiger Island. Do people think then that they will be doing the plans that were stated on here last year, where a grand stand will be installed to one side?
  24. But if there aren't any queues at MW then you can get it done in a morning. And even with small queues. My sister and I could go to MW for the opening and get all the rides done about 12. For people have been to the park, then MW is a half day park, but if you don't have a pass or have never been before, you can make it a full day. Its the same with DW, we'd go on what we want, and go home at lunch time. But if we did all the rides then we'd probably get it done by 2. But then there is Tiger Island and Corrobee. I like all the parks because they all off something different. MW does have some better qualities rides (theming), but DW has some great rides also. Something I'd wish DW would get is a big show. Maybe something like a Gold Rush/Western stunt show to go in the area where the Big Brother stage is. The same style as Police Academy, that comedy stunt show, but to fit the appropriate theme. I feel like that is the one thing DW is missing, besides another major coaster.
  25. Staff member at Tiger Island said that it will be closed from Feb 29.
