  1. Really? It’s still listed on the parks maintenance page and last time I was there the ride was completely dismantled
  2. Same! I’m fairly certain it’s on the straight right before you arrive at the unload platform
  3. For the Gold Coast parks, these are my hopes: Dreamworld - Bathroom refurbishments. The lockers and bathrooms to the left of the parks entry need some love. They haven’t been renovated in so many years, they feel old and dirty. Renovating and theming the ones next to Shockwave to suit Ocean Parade would be good too. - Replace the Shockwave sign. - Add gardens/theming around the Dreamworld Express track as leaving Main Street Station. While the refurb of the Giant Drop has been happening, I understand why they might not have done anything to this area, but once complete, I hope they make it a much nicer area. Movie World - I hope they finally remove the hideous hut at the entry of the kids area. - More of the Rivals track will be repainted. Sea World - I do hope Surfrider or another new flat ride is built on the flume station area. It’s perfect for a flat ride to fit under Storm and will ‘complete’ the attraction count for the park for the new few years. - I hope we see the return of the Monorail Wet ‘n’ Wild - I expect park wide refurbishments and slide repainting to continue. - Surfrider removed - Hopefully we see the return of the Flowrider and SkyCoaster - And we can dream that they remove the Zipline WhiteWater World - While I’m not expecting anything to happen in this park, I do hope for another new slide tower. It’s been four years since they’re last new attraction and while DW is about to have a lot of money invested into it, WWW should get some love. Even if it’s only one new attraction, build a new tower that’s large enough to allow for another new attractions in the future.
  4. The shade sail over the carousel has been replaced and the columns have been repainted to match. The ride is closed for 1.5 weeks, so I’d say if all the replacement ‘horses’ are on site, this should be a pretty quick and easy change over to Bananas in PJs
  5. Wait times at MW and SW aren’t too bad today. I’m surprised by the reasonably short time for Leviathan. Either the park is much quieter today or they’ve sorted out their loading procedures
  6. With 2022 coming to close, I thought we could share our predictions for Australian theme parks in 2023. We obviously know Dreamworld is refurbing Dreamworks to Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland, their expanding Ocean Parade and getting the Dreamworld Flyer. We also know Movie World is getting a new kids ride in the first half of the year. So what other new/refurb attractions will the theme parks get, but also, what minor works do we think will happen across the parks (eg. refurbished bathrooms, resurfacing)?
  7. The Carousel has been removed from the maintenance listing. So after 8 months it’s finally reopened.
  8. On the map, he’s where the grass and trees are You enter through this gate next to the Koala Photos
  9. It’s not that MW has queues because it’s great the park is busy, but when it gets so busy that every ride has a minimum 2 hour queue, that’s not good for guests. Because they’re only getting to go on a couple rides and the rest of the day they’re trying to watch shows, get food, etc because all of those queues are long too. While DWs busyness is much more comfortable and while there are queue they’re much more ‘expected’ wait times and allows you to still do everything you want
  10. While MWs queues were crazy, even DW had some impressive wait times. The park was the busiest I’ve seen in a while. Every ride had decent queues, with Steel Taipan having an hour wait (and using the extended queue) with both trains and fast operations. Sky Voyager was using the extended queue too. And all other rides had decent queues, was great to see.
  11. Visited the park to experience the event today. It was a fun day and a really good event. Lots of variety in the shows, which were all good. Street entertainment was great and as always, fantastic to have Goldie back in the park. Highly recommend checking it out
  12. I went through the twilight trail today and it’s the same, but better with new signage, lighting and glow in the dark stars (they don’t look tacky) as you walk in. The animals on show has obviously changed slightly since they were all removed several years ago. Great to have it back.
  13. I’d argue Doomsday is less reliable than Green Lantern. Superman and Rivals have been reliable, Rivals has just had bad operations as of late. Nearly all of DWs rides are reliable because they got rid of all the unreliable rides. And for SW, Storm and Jet Rescue are reliable too
  14. The DWF have shared on their socials that the nocturnal house has undergone a refurbishment and has reopened as the ‘Twilight Trail’. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CmoAeQWh_lp/?igshid=YWJhMjlhZTc= Personally, this was one of my favourite parts of DWs animals precincts, so I am very happy to see its return.
  15. Leviathan also definitely has single rider. So does WWF. I believe MDMC might also have it.
  16. I went to the night markets yesterday, which hadn’t been to in a couple of months. Since when did they become so popular? I went within the first few weeks of them launching, then a month or so after that and both those times they weren’t super busy. But last night, there must’ve been a couple thousand people there. It was so insanely busy and I haven’t been in DW when it’s that busy in years. In the lead up to Christmas and they had a jetpack show on, which would’ve drawn more people in, but for those who have been recently, has it been that crazy busy?
  17. Took this during the night markets yesterday, over half the tower has now been painted
  18. It’s an all new system and infrastructure. They were operating at the markets too
  19. Pandamonium has also been added and will be closed for a month
  20. I think it’s mostly come down to trades availability and delays due to winds/rain. Trades are booked in for x amount of time, whether or shipping causes delays, trades have to move onto other work, and so on. Hence why the tower has probably taken so long to paint and why there has been times where nothing has happened for several weeks
  21. Steel Taipan has closed for a few days/week a couple times in the last year and maintenance was performed. But it is yet to close for a significant period for maintenance. Is it possible that they’ve got a maintenance plan with Mack in a way that means the ride doesn’t have to close for lengthy periods, since this is there only major headline thrill attraction?
