  1. News from eureka mountain, there's some floorboards and construction happening from behind a blue screen. more test dummies are sitting at the station, photo taken from through the exit door around the side of the ride, and there's still the old mine cart sitting behind the door. It's cart number 10, which is the same one that's been sitting for a while now. I'd take this as good news! Carnival sign and equipment has been removed too
  2. I doubt that Dreamworld would put a V8 attraction in gold rush, but then again, stranger things have happened. I just think the reason Dreamworld hasn't announced anything is that eureka's opening isn't set in stone, but I really do believe something is going to happen, this year or next
  3. Mine cart still hasn't moved but, it's still in the same spot on the station, like it has been for months
  4. I'm at Dreamworld today, I had a chat with a staff member who said they had a meeting where they discussed new attractions, and that eureka will receive a revamp either this year or next. They also said the cyclone will be recieving a much needed reprint and new train. Good news!
  5. I wonder if Dreamworld realises how disappointing it is to see a much loved attraction so publicly closed?
  6. I doubt there will ever be a POV, unless the ride reopens. In the 10 years that the ride's been closed there hasn't been one uploaded, so don't hold your breath. I find it really frustrating every time I go to Dreamworld seeing Eureka just sitting there, the 'Exit Here' signs still there, the control systems and track are all just sitting there! Does anyone else find it annoying? Something will eventually happen, it has to. I genuinely wonder what kind of paint thinners dreamworld management was sniffing, to make them think they could just board up the ride, remove the sign and just let it rot without guests getting annoyed. Or what on earth was going through their heads when they closed the ride for 'temporary maintenance', and just forgot about the 'temporary' part, as well as the 'maintenance' part. Even now, the cart with dummies has been sitting on the track idle for months. They can't even be bothered to shift that!
  7. Apparently. Has anyone seen any action on Eureka? Or heard anything? Or has any updates! I really hope this ride does reopen!
  8. I was speaking to a white water world employee about the Peter Brock cars attraction. She said it was a completely new attraction and it hadn't been built yet. I was hoping it was going to come as a cyclone retheme, but I'm not sure that that will happen.
  9. Nearly every time I've been to movieworld at least one ride has broken down during the day, sometimes multiple times. There's even a sign put on scooby doo saying that we may have to evacuate you and you'll need to walk down stairs. Movieworld has some great rides... when they open.
  10. As interesting as all this arguing is... it actually doesn't have very much to do with eureka... so why post it on this thread?
  11. If anyone rides the thunder river rapids, look up when you get to the station under eureka. You can see the minecart on the tracks. I think it's been sitting there a while though
  12. It's a little bit of everything. Over time guest's hands and sweat wears away at the rubber of the harness, the paint chips, the wheels slowly get out of alignment ect.... Think of it like a car, eventually you have to replace so many parts that it's more worthwhile getting a new one than putting all the effort into fixing it up.
  13. The rollercoaster is fine like it is, it just needs a new train! BADLY! How much would a new train cost? 1 to 2 million? Seems like a small price to pay for the improvement it would make. Also, block brakes wouldn't hurt. I doubt dreamworld would ever run two trains but. I've never seen MDMC run two trains, even though they can run two and they own two.
  14. And let's not forget that 2016 marks 30 years of Gold Rush, and 10 years of Eureka being SBNO. It would be a great opportunity for Dreamworld to reopen eureka for the 30 year celebrations.
  15. Dreamworld: We're slowly starting to maintain things again* *Except our rollercoasters, skylink, and our overgrown river.
  16. You can sort of see two dummies side by side in the car. Do you think we are still on track for a 2015 opening?
  17. Do you think this quote from the cyclone's page on Dreamworld's website 'If you think you can weather a teeth chattering storm, then be prepared to get blown away by Dreamworld’s Cyclone. ' Is a dig at sea world?
  18. I don't understand all this hate about the motocoaster. I wouldn't call it a big thrill ride, but for a family roller coaster that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, I think it's actually quite a good ride! The themeing is a bit tacky but I think that's all part of the fun. I doubt it will be going anywhere soon. I'm wondering if dreamworld would use the peter brock cars as a tie in with the motocoaster? I don't suppose there'd be much space around it though to build a separate attraction, unless they got rid of the murrisippi river, which I don't see happening.
  19. I think I've been on that at the Ekka, or a ride very similar to that. It's pretty short, very rough and quite lack-lustre. Not really sad to see it go
  20. Hello everyone, long time reader first time poster here. I was at Dreamworld today. You can see there is a mine cart with water-dummies in the old loading station. Dreamworld must be planning something!
