  1. The key is in the apostrophe: Wet 'n' Wild verses Wet 'n Wild.
  2. If it's true it doesn't matter what anyone else says, if it's false, that's when you earn a bad reputation.
  3. I can attest to how true it is that many who don't like thrill rides are missing out. My mum really didn't want to go on it because she had seen the TV spots and thought it was a thrill ride. If I wasn't there to tell her otherwise she would have missed the ride altogether, and it's the only ride in the park she can go on.
  4. I think there are plenty of people who don't care about the thrill factor of a ride. Problem is, it's marketing suggests its a thrill ride, and people are dissapointed it's not. Flip side of the coin, the people who are its target market are scared off by the way it's being referred to as a thrill ride rather than a family ride. That's a marketing problem not a problem with the ride. As for the ride itself, it's clearly good, but it's not ready yet. Audio levels need to be worked out so you can hear and make out what's going on, the guns need to work and the timing needs fixing. After that all happens I think it'll knock the dissapointed reviews on the head.
  5. Glad you cleared that up since everyone was asking.
  6. I think Movie World have done themselves a disservice by opening the ride before it was properly timed and ready to go. Having said that, I remember riding Bermuda right after it opened. I remember the boats brig banked up 2 deep in front of the alien guard post,. I remember seeing rooms reset in front of me, and hearing the same audio multiple times on the same ride. That was in the opening months, and that ride went on to become an Aussie classic. If this gets it's timing issues sorted out it too will be an Aussie classic and few will remember the issues from the opening weeks. The ride is in my mind at the same level as Gremlins for theming, but with an interactive element added. Can't wait to ride when all is working as it should..
  7. Better yet, why not purchase lTheme Parks a Go-Go?
  8. I don't blame them taking this to trial. There is abundant signage and announcements about what happens if you don't make it around, and given that was a key part of the claim it seems a no brainer to challenge it, especially given the amount of money being claimed.
  9. They used to but in a rather short sighted move they sold it off a couple of years back
  10. I think it's interestesting to consider that Constrictor isn't even one of the highlights of WnW Sydney.
  11. Did I not include the words "In English" in my original post? Awqward...
  12. The world's first shooting dark ride with 3D screens blended into real sets? I think that surely qualifies as a world first
  13. RE Second train: I think before they start looking at spending whatever the cost of a second train is, they need to look at the load and unload times. I don't know how they're going these days, but it wasn't uncommon on my last visit for it to take 6 mins between dispatches. The thing about that is if there was a second train, that'd mean a painful 2 mins sitting in the final brake run with those tight harnesses. If they can get load/unload down to about 2 mins then a second train is worthwhile, but until then whatever gains they would get from a second train could more cheaply and comfortably gained by improvements to loading.
  14. I reckon they would, but I don't think they'd care. What I'm saying is that even if they did know who the Flinstones were, they wouldn't buy a Flinstones t-shirt, which negates the whole reason that parks use other people's IP
  15. Nah I remember the event he's talking about, it was I think the first evening of Fright Nights 2 years ago. From memory the fire brigade was called and the ride closed for a little bit. Pretty sure it opened again afterwards though, it just seemed quite dramatic since that was the year the queue for the saw maze was next to the ride and the alarm was going off for a very long time. That occasion is not the reason for the ride not opening for night events however, and as far as I'm aware its down to the prohibitive cost of lighting the attraction for the few weeks. I don't think it really matters for Halloween anyway, but I reckon they should try and open it up for White Xmas, since the park is full of families, and the weather is so hot.
  16. I really hate it when people are rude too staff, there is no need to be a prick. Having said that I really did LOL when I read that. Asking for $8 for pretty much nothing is just shitty customer service, no matter if you were at fault for going over the time or not. I don't blame you after that experience for your reaction*. *parkz.com.au does not in any way condone being rude to staff, or bringing loose articles onto rides.
  17. ^^ That, or we're not all poor, and so would rather pay more so the parks less packed, or see them have more money for reinvestment. Failing that, a tiered and better thought out ticketing system would suffice. Also FWIW, VIP passes are for anyone, including international guests. I'm not saying they should price themselves out of the market, but I am saying it should be more expensive for tourists, and people who'd like a few extra perks (admission during all the days of the school holidays, F&B discounts). When it's buy 3 get one free it's literally cheaper than paying for a one day ticket for 4 people. We want the parks to be successful and many people think that upping the VIP pass price would be an easy way for the parks to be more profitable.
  18. Asking current guests is the wrong way to go. Ask Sea World guests what would make them go to Movie World and vice versa. Also pointless to ask why people did visit, better to ask other Village guests why they didn't. As for the attraction choices, both are pretty uninspiring, but the Eurofighter is much to sillier to Green Lantern (even if well themed) so the other ride is the easy choice.
  19. Righto, the name calling can stop while the score is 1 all. I'll assume you're adults so I'm not going to go through this thread deleting things, but I will delete anything from now on that I think is offensive.
  20. FWIW I'm with the people who don't like sharing tubes. It's fine on Mammoth, but for everything else at the park I'm not a fan of sharing tubes with strangers. It's fine sitting next to someone on a roller coaster or whatever, but I do object to having my personal space invaded by some half naked stranger.
  21. ^ And anyone who went to ride Arkham in the first 2 weeks knows what that looks like
  22. If I'm just doing an update I'll usually grab a fast food meal, just to keep my opinion up to date. When I've got my family (about 5 of us) with me then I'll spend about $100 on food plus another $50 or so on beer and coffee. On a side note, the cafe at Castaway Bay needs alcohol. There are a lot of parents who take a break at the entrance while the kids run themselves tired on the fortress, had alcohol been available I suspect I know the 3 adults in my family would've spent another $50 or so between us.
  23. I visit each park as a guest to enjoy the day out probably once every 2 years (so over 4 parks that's 2 visits a year). I step foot in the parks to do an update or have a quick look at something probably about every 6 weeks. The right type of new attraction would make me go more (SW's water coaster, JL and Seal Harbour will each get at least one full day visit out of me, Buzzsaw still hasn't enticed me) and I'll also visit White Xmas and Fright Nights if I've got the free time.
  24. ^ Purely because it's awesome you mean?
  25. Not much love for Scooby in this thread...
