Sea World Pirate Ship for Sale
There's 3, two red and one blue, though one of the red engines has been out of service for many many years.

Sea World Pirate Ship for Sale
Pirate Ship cost $300,000 when it was purchased 20 years ago, so good to see in these economically uncertain times that some things retain their value pretty well. As for the train: I can't believe that 6 months after it was meant to reopen we're only just now reading about its closure

Big pineapple
Ah, the old Harvest Boat ride. I rode back in 02, and it was quite possibly the lamest ride that I've ever been on. Truth be told, it was so lame it was worth more then we paid to ride. It was basically a 20min educational boat ride through a greenhouse, teaching its riders about plants and growing techniques. I recall hearing that the ride cost something crazy like $3million to build in the late 80s. To put that in context just how amazing that is, Sea World built Lasseter's Lost Mine around the same time for the about the same amount. Not long after my last visit Big Pineapple filed for bankruptcy. I don't know what the story with the place is now except it was recently heritage listed, which I'm sure is causing a headache as now the place legally must be maintained.

Scooby Doo Lately
Not only did I not say that, I totally disagree with the idea that since something is done for safety reasons, it can't be re-visited down the track and improved. What I would also say is that if the music is muffled, then it is broken, no matter how you look at it. Not only was it muffled on my visit, it was barely audible. Daylight was also leaking in from everywhere, making the lasers even harder to see in the minimal fog. I really love the ride, but when the lasers and audio in that big room aren't working to their full effect, then its a roller coaster in a warehouse. Having said that, I did not notice the Dark Ride section being overly bright on my last visit a month or so back, and I don't think it being bright enough for people to not trip over at load and unload a bad thing. The red rope lights were working all around the laser room and lift, the mirrors had been cleaned (thats how long its been since I've been on the ride) and the dark ride section was working well enough. I can't say I'm a fan of the giant spider in the laser room (to me it seems tacky in there. IMHO it would fit in the dark ride section a mich better. Particularly the room which already friggin' has spiders!), but on the whole its looking a heap better then it was mid way through last year, but sounds a hell of allot worse.

New Ride at Adrenalin Park
Unfortunately Adrenalin Park spent all their money when they bought the ride, and had none left to actually make the thing work. Bugger ay. So the story goes, occasionally when money frees up they'll throw a bit at the ride, but I don't thing there's much of a push in the company to get the thing up and running.

Wet 'n' Wild Phoenix
Sorry, not following? I like the look of this place, I think its a fantastic looking water park. The Mammoth falls (Boomerango) looks fantastic, and is one ride I would love to see pop up somewhere on the Gold Coast. Having said that, I do wonder if they are risking leaving a bad taste in the community's mouth with the pricing and policies. Taking into account exchange rate, the brand new WnWP is more expensive to visit then WnWW, which has been building on its reputation for 25 years now. Of course, That's not including tax, parking, nor is it taking into account inner tube hire (which lets you push in? What a great way to piss people off before you've built yourself a good reputation). The introductory rate of $100+tax is also a good laugh, and I suspect that one may be rethought sooner rather then later. All I can say is they better be doing these Dive in Movies allot more regularly then they're doing them over here or there will be some very pissed of Yankees!

Scooby Doo Lately
This may come as s shock to many of the haters out there, but stuff on this site IS read by people at the park, and in some cases, has led to improvements in park. If simple stuff is broken for long periods of time, then that is a legitimate complaint to make, and who knows, if enough peoples egos get hurt then stuff may eventually get fixed. We're quick to compliment things the parks are doing to improve guest experience, but if that's not what's happening at the park, then you won't see any mention of it here. There are a few points in this topic that deserve more attention, but I'll mention two: A 50 cent light is much cheaper then a $200 infared camera, and we should all know that cost wins out over ride experience; and if the ride checks the ops staff were doing were making any difference then the music in the last room would be working.

The Off Topic Topic
In the tradition of this topic being little more then a thinly veiled YouTube topic: I don't care how great the shows are that this man comes up with; this is awesome!

WVTP Changes
Its funny really, not including a drink in combos is a trick DW used for many years, as well as not letting guests take their own photos with characters, closing attractions without explanation, not maintaining themeing, understaffing attractions and charging extra for things that most would assume to be included. Oh how times change.

WVTP Changes
So basically if you pay full price and visit on a weekday you don't get the full experience or decent customer service? There's a plan for long term success right there folks.

Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
See, I went straight from reading all the market reports to this thread, hence my "End of the year" thing. How about ramp up till the middle of the year Traditionally, dive in movies have run on Saturdays through to ANZAC day, and to me it's a bit of a shame that they aren't on. Seems a pity to kick a few thousand people out of the park rather then let them stay and buy stuff.

Wet n Wild well and truely still in PEAK season
I wonder how many of those 8600 odd people were expecting dive in movies to still be happening, since they traditionally have been at this time of year. I also wonder how many of those 8600 people will decide to do the same thing next year. In any case, expect to see attendance ramp up from now until the end of the year, as more of the Q150 passes are sold.

Jet Ski Rescue doesn't run in the rain
It has the same top speed as Corkscrew, which does run in the rain, so it can't be a guest comfort thing.

Whats Happening To Terror Canyon?
... I'm not saying your wrong, but how I choose to label you is irrelevant because you are totally wrong.
-
Whats Happening To Terror Canyon?
Once the trees on white water mountain grow in, what ever gets built to replace terror canyon will be pretty well obscured, and its on the wrong side of the mountain to be a big eye catching attraction anyway. Plus wnw has enough eye catching stuff as it is. Personally would love to see a custom dark mammoth slide take that place on the back of the mountain, with as much of the slide hidden from view as possible, but thats just my opinion.
-
Whats Happening To Terror Canyon?
I'd be surprised if there is a new attraction in the works for the mountain. If it was closed purely to be replaced then it would have closed after xmas.

New Warner Village Campaign
Wow... Thats all of 95cents more then one single day admission to MW or SW, and you get an extra two parks and 5 months unlimited. Good to see though, IMHO WVTPs are in a very good position to discount there way out of the economic turmoil, and I was wondering when we were going to see them roll some discounts out. This one is a cracker of a deal, and it'll be interesting to see its effects in the coming months, particually if we all get this $950 from Rudd.

2009.. My prediction for what's in stall..
Something like that

2009.. My prediction for what's in stall..
Perhaps, but I can't see the difference between the billboard outside the park and any me the other billboards anywhere else. Both are used to announce whats going on inside the park as much as it is about the park itself. The only difference is they shouldn't have to pay rent on the one out front (I'd assume not anyway)

Favourite Disneyland/Californian Adventure thrill ride?
Its not on Earth, its in SPACE! In all truth, I was meant to write Splash Mountain, but it was 12:48am when I was writing. It should read: As it is, Splash Mountain as a stand alone experience makes no bloody sense. Personally, I had no idea there was a story going on until I read about it online years later. Still thought it was a good ride but didn't understand what was going on at all.

Favourite Disneyland/Californian Adventure thrill ride?
If the average guest doesn't understand the story, then its too hard to follow. Off the top of my head every other attraction in the park tells the story without knowledge of the movie being required. As it is, Space Mountain as a stand alone experience makes no bloody sense. Personally, I had no idea there was a story going on until I read about it online years later. Still thought it was a good ride but didn't understand what was going on at all. More on topic: I wouldn't call it a thrill ride though, so I say Indy.
