Gold Coast almost got Disneyland.
Also Tokyo Disneyland isn't run by Disney. Also; Ew can you imagine if Village Roadshow ran Disneyland? First step would be to take the throughtput that Disney achieves on its rides, then divide by 4.

Fright Nights - 2015
Out of interest to anyone who went last night on UTT, how are the queues for the rides with Fast-track? Can you go multiple times or are you restricted to just one go?

Green Lantern incident at MW
Except S&S had Engineers who said 'Yeah that's fine we will totally sell you that'. In my mind, if Movie World met their obligations as to what was recommended, then they are in the clear. If they failed in their maintaince regime then it's their fault. If there was a problem they knew about before hand they didn't tell S&S about or failed to account for then it's back in Movie World's hands. I'm a betting man, and I'd be willing to put a sum of money on deficient engineering at the start. Unfortunately I haven't worked for the parks for many years, and when I did it wasn't in a maintenance capacity, but I have a hard time believing that they didn't do what S&S told them to do.

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Hire a locker? Get changed into swimmers? Apply sunscreen? Lots of parks open before the rides do, and advertise their hours as such. Having said that shutting rides for an hour at the start of the day is a rather crappy.

Dreamworlds Next Rollercoaster?
I assume he means a launched coaster that also goes upside down.

Sea World name change?
I think another thing that's telling is many of the people complaining on Sea World GC's Facebook page are from overseas, and anyone in Australia who has seen Blackfish already had a 'free the Dolphins' bias anyway. I don't think it's had much traction with the majority of people, and even in the U.S. I suspect that the downturn in profitability has more to do with a lack of compelling new attractions. Sea World is a huge brand, and they'd be mad to change based on being the subject of last week's poorly placed moral outrage

Jamberoo Action Park Expansion
So here's a question, have you been to Wet 'n' Wild Sydney? And if so, did you see anything think 'that's a good idea' and did you see anything not so good and think 'that's a great lesson of what we don't want to do' I understand it's a small industry, and it can be seen as poor form bad mouthing the competition (even competition as indirect as WnWS) so I understand if you don't want to answer, but I'm genuinely interested in hearing what someone in your position would take out of a visit.

Or are they installing more water guns on thunder river? (Which I'd be totally cool with)

Movie World speculation and dreaming - 2015 edition
As both an alcoholic and a theme park fan, I can confirm that the upgrades to both bars is indeed, very pleasing. As a pure theme park fan, a road runner cartoon for the Roxy is super exciting. Not digging the 15min rehash of a feature film thing, glad they've decided to go with something better. Now can we get something to replace that embarrassing little SpongeBob movie at Sea World?

Gold Coast almost got Disneyland.
Ocean Park in Hong Kong, and Universal Studios and Sea World seem to do quite well with the mouse in town. Hell Knott's would be a small fairly uninteresting regional park anywhere else in the states, but being next to Disneyland makes it an international attraction. Really couldn't see 5million at Dosneyland in Australia though. 3 maybe but 5 million with our population is a bridge too far IMHO

Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space
I feel really bad for MACK that no one has taken the water coaster concept and done anything truely great with it. It's such a good ride system, and every installation seems underwhelming, unfortunately Storm included. Having said that, it's definitely fills the hole left by Bermuda much better than it would doing the job of a high end thrill ride. As it is it's a slightly intimidating family ride, the sort of thing that parents will ride with young kids who are feeling adventureous. It's the sort of ride the park needed to install, and I'm glad they did, but it's not the high end thrill that the park is still lacking.

It's not about how many people say something it's about the quality of what's being said. Reality isn't a popular vote.

Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space
Djrappa mentioned a spinner, and while I think he's right that a spinner would totally fit the park, I really think what's needed is a high end thrill coaster. Corkscrew when it was built, and debatably most of its life was that. Storm and Jet Resuce already have that family thrill ride thing down pretty good, it's the 'Wow we HAVE to go to Sea World to ride that' which the park is missing IMHO. Also all those families who visit for the animals? Don't worry the animals will still be there, you won't lose them if you built something crazy.

Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space
It's in a castle, so some medieval Viking attack by sea could work. Or a giant sea monster escaped from the dungeons that you need to defeat. Or a Chinese developer who keeps stealing all the car parks.

Ideas For The Old Sea Viper Space
The live animals/ ride combo doesn't work. It cheapens the animals to being a sideshow, and it's just about impossible to focus on them and the ride. The only real exceptions are safari type rides where it's all about the animals. As for Sea Vipers/ Pirate Ship's Land, look is it greedy to think and RMC and a Mack Launch Coaster could could co exsist quite well? I mean by all means you lot keep talking about uninspiring x-car coasters and I'll just go ahead and have a bit of ambition for the park. Oh and Sea World does need a coaster. Plonk a flat ride down near Storm if you must. There's a lot of wasted land in the middle of that ride if someone wants to get clever about using it. As for the dark ride thing, yeah Storm fills that void as well as anything. You know where you could add a dark ride at Sea World that could work? Inside the castle replacing the 3D theatre. It'd have to be a screen based shooter for space reasons but I think give it an appropriate theme and it could work a treat.

sea word mnew coaster
Ok, since so many people have commented about how this is a duplicate thread, it's actually a real pain in the backside to merge it into the other thread and delete all the irrelevant posts. Consider this my punishment; this thread stays here, and I'm not going to rename it Have a lovely day!

Yeah look that's a bit of a surprise, a lot of people were saying new flat ride.

Seaworlds New Kids Area Announced
I like Sea World, and I like beer. When I'm at Sea World I spend more than $50 at dockside on lunch and a few beers. I'd love to be able to spend more money combining two things I like.

Seaworlds New Kids Area Announced
While they're at it they can close some shops to build another burger shop and anyone who wants souvenirs can buy them from Movie World. Or they can have a good f&b mix in park. Just a crazy thought. What I don't get is why they can't find a way to license bits of the top Terrace/Castaway Bay. Dreamworld have alcohol sales at a lot of outlets around the park, as do most 'destination' parks, but the Village parks don't even license the bits that would really suit it.

Seaworlds New Kids Area Announced
Acceptable changes to Dockside upstairs; install a ramp/lift for wheelchair guests. Introduce a cocktail menu, improve the food options, open it till 5 everyday. Acceptable changes to downstairs; meh go nuts. Bottom line: If the upstairs balconies get taken away there will be serious hell to pay!

What would you spend $9m on?
Giant Drop I agree is polarising. I was shocked last time I visited Dreamworld how short the queue for it was verses the other rides. Of course I think that also to do with how isolated it is. If you built another thrill ride near it (say in that grassy area next to Eureka) I suspect it'd get busier, but still, for one of the best thrill rides in the world (yeah I said it, sue me) it's short queue is very strange for me. You'd be shocked to hear if I were in charge of the parks most of what I'd spend the money on is on capacity things. At DW, 2 new trains for MDMC with Jet Rescue style seating and a re theme. 2 Trains for Cyclone with non earbashing restraints, and some cash to either reopen Eureka, or to gut the mountain and put a flat ride in there. MW - a second train for Arkham and a 3rd for Superman (so there is always 2 trains avalible). What ever is left over goes on developing the infrastructure in the land behind Scooby as a 'swing land' that can be repurposed as needed to house extra stuff for the night time events (so more Mazes for Halloween or the North Pole for Christmas). Though you would have to reopen Lethal Alley for that to have any chance of succeeding and joining onto the back of Western Town. So maybe a bit big a project. SW - All that money into fixing the monorail. Have a chat to someone about designing and building 3 new trains for it. $9million might not be enough but I think its worth looking into.
