  1. If I were a betting man I'd say it'll be crocs gorillas and probably hippos in the reclaimed land next to Beach Break Bay.
  2. They could, but wether they should is a different story.
  3. What's this? Joz's original post was correct after all? Well what a shock. Also, I think the precise wording they used to describe the ride hasn't really sunk in to anyone yet.
  4. Wow, that's cool, I thought they'd already given up on that , glad to know they're still trying to make it work.
  5. The printed in park maps are pretty awesome, why they got those crappy maps for the website I don't think I'll ever know. Whenever I look at the online maps I wonder how if fill a whole day at the parks.
  6. Given all the complaints on Dreamworld's facebook page I'd suggest that the late opening/early closing thing is a negative issue for guests. If it's one of those days where there are a couple of hundred people in the park, I'd kinda go along with it, but to make it standard operating procedure on weekdays is incredibly poor form. This all seems to be in concert with having rides on rotation too, not instead of it. To me it's just a real shame that they're no longer interested in being the market leader in anyway.
  7. Wow, the only thing open at 10 is Wiggles World and Dreamworks, and pretty much everything except Ocean Parade and Dreamworks closes at 4 or earlier.
  8. Unfortunaltly I agree with people who say get rid of the ride. I think the park is stronger without it. At the very least it needs new train which does away with the current seating. Maybe Jet Rescue style seats with a motor bike theme? Anyway, it needs a new train and a retheme. Thing is even after you do that it'll still be a weak ride, so it's probably not worth the cash. IMHO, they should just get rid of it, put a real blockbuster ride there and retheme the area
  9. Me? I'm lovely to everyone! FWIW, if this turns out to be true, feel free to bring our attention to this thread and point out how right you were, and we'll even believe what you say in the future because of it too. In the meantime though, I don't believe it. Nothing personal, just seems like a fanciful story to me. Myself and Djrappa and others often have occasions where we can't reveal our sources, but 90% of the time we're right, and even when we're wrong it's often because plans changed (I know I can't prove that but believe me it's happened). That's why people listen when we say stuff. There are many other posters on here who have the same respect from me, and that's just the way forums work. Don't feel bad about it, just accept it, and if you're continually right people will believe you in the future too.
  10. Yeah there is an error with the ban options, and he was flagged as a spammer instead of a normal ban. The upshot of that is it deleted all of his posts. Not ideal, but I'd be shocked if anyone truly cares.
  11. So it has been confirmed in the latest release to the ASX that a new 'Mini Movie World Children's Car Ride" would open at Movie World by September 2013. It is expected to take up a fair slice of the Tunes building. Personally I think it's great to see another kid friendly ride go into Movie World, as the park still needs it, even if it won't cause many (on this site at least) to change their travel plans.
  12. Great photos! As for the unpopularity of Seal Harbour, I'd say that's exclusivly down to the fact it's in an obscure spot. It's the sort of attraction you'd have to know was there, people would be unlikely to wander into it, probably why the area was done so cheaply.
  13. I could even support letting guests in once in the spirit of goodwill, and making sure that at this point the guest is 100% aware of their restrictions. Put a note on their pass that they've used their 'goodwill' ticket so if it happens again they can't plead ignorant. Don't advertise this of course, but just do it.
  14. I know every time this comes up, I make a post to the effect that the $99 should be a pass that excludes Xmas holidays and only includes entry. $150 should be a pass with no block out dates, and entry to either white Xmas or Halloween, and $200 should be both White Xmas, and Halloween, no block out dates, and a 15% off f&b. Hopefully this would help distribute the crowds more evenly throughout the year and boost revenue.
  15. I agree, and reckon they should be renamed something that doesn't imply it's for "VIPs" to end the feeling of entitlement people seem to have.
  16. Although if they build the slides first that'd give them unrestricted access to the site, which could be more restricted later on. Just thinking aloud.
  17. I recall hearing something way back when that most European rapids rides are like that (ie calm). From memory it's either something to do with Europeans not being very good at staying in their seats or not wanting to get wet. I remember reading an explanation about it when the bat themed rapids ride opened (the one with the vertical drop) and people were commenting how tame it was, or it wasn't tame and that was a problem. I can't remember the article but somewhere in my brain is tucked the knowledge that European rapids rides are really tame.
  18. Yeah, people often suggest some damn stupid stuff. Here's what I'd like to see: an immersivly themed Looney Tunes ride with a well defined story that's more thrilling than LTRR but more mild than road runner and with a height requirement of 1 meter or lower. Anything that ticks those boxes is on my wish list for that space.
  19. Probably a small point, but I was thinking about genuinely new premium viewing area, so for example in the buildings, or on a balcony on top of Stars. Also I know Paul's comment was about the ticket books, but I was responding to the point about how if I dislike this system then I also have to dislike all similar systems. Not sure if you were talking to me Alex but thought I'd clarify that anyway. And finally: why are we OK with the idea that a POP is essentially charging for rides as well? How can that possibly in any reality be viewed as a good thing?
  20. That is something I can reluctantly agree with. Basically, it's about fun and perception. It works at Disney because it appears to be fair, even though that's not strictly speaking true. If it doesn't feel like the line is moving slower because only a very small number of people are on the system then I won't mind it too much. If they only sold 20 in an hour I probably wouldn't mind because I'd be unlikely to notice.
  21. This sounds like another problem which could be solved by using tiered passes
  22. You don't mind your inconvenience being a revenue source? Well in that case why don't we evict people who have been waiting for the parade because someone else paid extra? Why not make it so people who paid extra get to eat food off your tray in the restaurant? Hell why not make it that a prerequisite of entry that you are connected to a ball and chain that you can pay a small fee to remove? I'm not against extra revenue sources at all. If they create an awesome place to watch the parade from then I don't care if they charge for it, because it's not taking anything away from my day. But that's not how this system works; these systems ARE taking away from my day. Here's what I'd be totally OK with: Run the rides for an extra hour at the end of the day and allow strictly limited numbers of Guests to buy a wristband where they can ride the ride with virtually no wait. The rides wouldn't have been open so I don't care. See the difference here? You don't mind your inconvenience being a revenue source? 23. I can't think of anything more repulsive then pay to cut systems. I haven't been to WnW this year because of the lack of dive in movies, and I feel as though Fast Track has validated that decision. To think that dive in movies finished in the same year that this system started shows the contempt which Village has for its customers, and probably signals the fastest decline in customer service in the history of the Gold Coast. I'm not saying that to be dramatic either. Sea World may have declined further a couple of years ago (and only now slowly on its' way back), but Wet 'n' Wild has declined much quicker this year. I don't respect someone else profiting by inconveniencing me. I don't care what other extra spending options they introduce, but if it has a negative impact on other guests than it's not something to introduce in a theme park, where the main product your selling is a good feeling.
  24. Thank you sir The story I had in my head was that it was a jetski 'hire' and by going into the building you were effectively going back to base and finishing your session. The building in the middle was meant to be the sort of place you weren't supposed to be, sort of an 'off the beaten track' thing.
