Rumours have been flying around for years, the grapevine says still on the cards. Still I don't know as many grapes as I used to so pinch of salt lol

Article: VRTP lowers profit forecast
I'd have thought lower attendance during the week of the games would've been pretty well offset by studio hire for last 6 months and/or being gifted a whole new Sound Stage that they didn't have to pay for. The reality is you are going to take a hit when trying to readjust the market. It's a pity that Village Roadshow is in a mess because that affects massively how much they can ride it out. I've said about pricing that they should have kept the lower price point except added block out dates in addition to the price hikes as part of the ween people off the cheap tickets process. The weather is beyond their control, but that happens. The big story to me is they've lowered the SW one day admission ticket. That park's failure is 100% their fault. Oh but they have a plan, they're going to relocate the ride from another neglected vrtp property to it which will apparently help somehow?

XXI Commonwealth Games: Gold Coast 2018
What oppitunity? The Coast is deserted. I think by opening the doors to athletes and Volunteers the answer would be 'Yes'. Have they taken advantage of the unique marketing oppitunity? No, of course they haven't but when was the last time you saw any creative marketing effort from the parks? FWIW I still think they need to get a group of 8 silver medalists together and race them down the aquaracer.

VTP Annual Pass Changes
I don't like the idea of discounting too heavily, but I do like the idea of a pass which doesn't include WC or Carnivale. There would be a lot of tourists who would have no use for such add ons, so an add on free ticket gets my stamp of approval.

Adventure World 2018- improvements
Not sure what point you're trying to make here or what your evidence is trying to prove? But 2 things: 1. DC Rivals is the tallest fastest full circut coaster in Australia. No disclaimers or anything, that's legit what it is. 2. Who said Movie World's marketing was good? I hate to piss on your bonfire but Goliath's 'record' is totally bogus. I bet it's a great ride, it looks to suit the park well; Adventure World looks like an awesome park, but don't get butthurt that someone called your record dumb. In other news, Cyclone holds the record for the tallest fastest coaster* in Australia/New Zealand! *Only counting S&S Arrow coasters By the way I don't think you're a bad person because you're wrong, have a really good Eastee

Adventure World 2018- improvements
Lol no offense but if you need to cite the designer, it's a rubbish record. News just in, Arkham is the tallest Vekoma Rollee Coaster in Australia 👍🏻 All this sort of marketing does is devalue records as a thing, like all those super niche Proslide records. Just market something for how good it is rather than some obscure fact that not even autistic super fans care about. Joz - Autistic super fan.

The LEGO Movie - 4D Experience
Is it a new movie or reused clips from The Lego Movie? Also Road Runner was by far the best film in the Roxy since Sherek. Sad it's gone but it was time. Also SW still has a 3D cinema for now. I only mention it because I think VRTP may have forgotten about it?

Village Roadshow's Gold Coast theme parks slowly recover while Wet'n'Wild Sydney struggles
I agree with this. Blind freddy can see what a lot of the issues are. In your opinion, what's preventing Village from acting on the issues they can act on? Can they see the issues and are unwilling to act, or are they blind to their ongoing failings?

Dreamworld Annual Pass Pricing
This seems like a real bonehead move. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the 'race to the bottom' appears to be at an end. But the thing is with Village raising their price from $99 they've kind of given DW the wriggle room and a spot in the market. DW can now park themselves at that $99 price point and get all the people who will inevitably balk at how expensive Village are now. Happy days, they were flogging passes off significantly cheaper than $99 at different times during the year so if they can hold firm at $99 they'll be doing better in terms of how much they're charging per pass and will sell more come Village renewal time, particuarly given most guests probably haven't had a DW pass for a long time. By raising their price to almost inline with Village's local pass price they can kiss that advantage goodbye in one swift incompetent blow.

Adventure World's Inferno - downtime and future
Aside from Abyss though their level of spending doesn't seem crazy high. Goliath isn't something that's a bank breaker, and last year was a Tornado. They've spent a bit updating the place but to me a moderate ride (by GC standards) every couple of years with something cheap like a water slide in the off years isn't totally unreasonable.

Eureka Mountain replacement dark ride
You can theme literally any ride system to the same standard, the fact it's an omnimover has nothing to do with it. As far as trackless rides go, possible, but I don't think the price has come down enough on them just yet, besides they've already gota trackless dark ride. If they intend to still build a 'dark ride', my bet is still on an indoor wild mouse themed to gold mining.

Flyover Australia: Dreamworld registers trademark, looks to increase Flying Theatre capacity
Or how about flying over Dreamworld from over Ocean Parade where Claw is and conclude with a shot of Tower Of Terror and Giant Drop (all running?). Reckon that'd make a far better ending. People associate fireworks with Disney so it makes sense there, people don't think of Dreamworld when they think fireworks, so end on strong iconic Dreamworld imagery.

Village Roadshow's Gold Coast theme parks slowly recover while Wet'n'Wild Sydney struggles
I think shortening the season is the wrong move. You might do your ass a few weekends but you also want to be able to capitalise on those unseasonably hot days you get each year. It's also training people that WnW is an option on a hot day - when it's hot on the GC people know they can just get in the car and go to WnW. I think the bigger issue they have is a combination of ticketing and customer service/policies. WnWS has a problem where they somehow manage to be both over crowded, and losing money. For my taste I think an increase in the annual pass price to around $150, and a reduction in one day tickets to around $50 would address the over crowding from pass holders and also encourage full paying day trips. Customer service wise I think there's so much low hanging fruit at WnWS. If it were me I'd install BBQs and allow people to bring food to cook up. Forgot to bring food to BBQ? We'll do you a family meat tray with somepaper plates and tongs for $40. Combine that with getting rid of Fast Track in all it's forms and committing to running all the slides at full capacity. Do all that and in 2 seasons the results would be much different.

Quirks, concerns and flaws with Dreamworld's new Log Ride canopies
I dont understand how the soloution wasn't just 'more staff observing the ride' because really that was the problem, the one staff member had too much stuff to focus on so when idiot number 1 does a dumb thing and falls out a boat, no one noticed. 2 or 3 observers and a staff member on the load platform would have been my preferred fix (which is also inline with industry trends), rather than adding a half baked perspex roof.

Quirks, concerns and flaws with Dreamworld's new Log Ride canopies
I guess it comes down to experience; are there engineers on site at DW? Yes. Would they know as much about log rides and log ride boats as engineers from a company who design and sell log rides? Of course not. When your solution is at odds with what everyone in the industry is doing, maybe outsourcing engineering might be a plan.

Quirks, concerns and flaws with Dreamworld's new Log Ride canopies
My wording was careful, the modifications allowed the accident to happen; it's difficult to imagine the accident happening if slats hadn't been removed.

Quirks, concerns and flaws with Dreamworld's new Log Ride canopies
It's funny the reaction this one has got, particuarly on facebook. There seems to be a subset of people who think Dreamworld should be immune from critisim no matter what they do. I want the park to do well, but they aren't a sacred cow, if they do something questionable then questions should be asked. For me the big one is this; have DW learned anything from TRR? You just had an accident on an in house ride, that has been modifoed from it's original design in a way that allowed the accident to happen. Why would you repeat that process with another ride? No other manufacturer has made a ride modification like this, so why do DW feel that making their own modifications again is a good idea? Call MACK or Whitewater West or Intamin, explain the issues and get them to advise on solutions. If they can't fix them, you tear it all down and start again. You don't put in a half arsed solution that you are 100% exposed on if something else goes bad. People are like you need to support them 100%, well if you support the emperor then tell him he's not wearing pants. Support is telling hard truths.

Dreamworld unveils new and returning attractions as peak season winds down
Just FYI the target market is the parents of really little kids, not the kids themselves.
