You'll be visiting more than a park I assume, perhaps a region with something he will remember (cable car ride, zoo etc.) Something big and/or unique, rather than rides similar to home that won't stand out in his memory or impress him when looking at photos when older. I voted Singapore, it's the only place I've been, plus you've got Gardens by the Bay, the cable car and Lego land.

Quite impressive that they fit that park and the back of house into that space. Also impressive is that all available roof space has greenery or solar panels on top.

I've never understood the park driving the memorial idea. It should have been "if they want one, we will make the space and fund it", nothing more.

Your top billing attraction isn't open due to whatever reason. Cash flow is non existent. You have very little money to spend. You need something now, not in two years time. You've just had to close a key ride permanently. Do you do nothing, or see who you can get and afford at short notice?

The building itself is easily replaced at a new location. Take out the necessary walls to re-create the openings, remove the expensive bits (the ride essentially), level the rest and call in the real estate agent.

Personally, I don't do motion simulators as I get nauseous from them. Nearly threw up after Transformers Singapore (but wanted to ride it again!). But if there is something reasonable to follow SV (although highly unlikely), I'd get another season pass to the park in about 12 months time when our toddler is big enough to appreciate the place, and my son big enough to enjoy SV and maybe a few of the bigger rides. Otherwise as above, I will wait until it is relocated.

You don't need theme park experience to build a building in a theme park though. You just need to have the right people employed by the theme park, to then find the right designers and contractors to build it.

I work for a former aircraft engineer. He may not have a degree, and be a bit of a larrikin, but I'd trust him to fix my plane or manage ride maintenance. They take their safety very seriously. He was one of the team that repaired the overshot Qantas jet years back (the repair that cost more than a new plane, to preserve their safety rating). I'll ask him if he knows this guy.
