  1. The whole place looked really bright from the highway when we went passed yesterday, good to see them sprucing it up to match the new slides.
  2. If this was Movie World, they'd still be ignoring its existence.
  3. Just watched a video of that Turbo Track, 10km/hr might be accurate 🥱
  4. I treat it like riding a motorbike, look where you are going next. That makes you use your neck muscles and stop getting thrown about. Leg squishing, when you load keep the harness slightly higher (~1cm), and push up with your legs when they check it. It still moves down throughout the ride (particularly on the high G part back passed the station) but it won't be as tight at the end.
  5. Slow load times on a quiet day is a good way to fill the ride up, and operate it less frequently = less wear.
  6. I think it's because the system looses track of its position on the way back to the station, causing the magnetic braking timing to be out of sync, so it runs into the mechanical emergency brakes after the station. Still washes a fair bit of speed due to the uphill run. I could be wrong in my understanding though.
  7. Isn't DCR leased, rather than purchased?
  8. I never watched the movie when it was running, but recall it being quite small walking through it, maybe 30 or so people cinema?
  9. A few years back they did a series of videos about the park, two younger guys hosted it. One of them was about changing the warning light on the top of the tower (I think) and showed inside. Stairs and I think a small lift?
  10. What are the chances the upper brake blocks have had much maintenance over the years... Probably slim
  11. And it only landed yesterday. Probably due for a major service so being stored until needed? Or in the area to be used at the V8 Event in a few weeks time.
  12. Which is a great idea. Firstly, why take on an well established product. Secondly, target an empty part of the market. We went to the first two fright nights at movie world, and as it ramped up towards more of the horror aspect, it didn't suit us as well as then having small kids.
  13. And goes with the theme of a timber mill. Hopefully he's attending a seminar on cage removal.
  14. Welcome to Parkz, that's just how it is around here unless you're part of the in crowd.
  15. Given the current draw required and the new coaster using the same (but more modern) system, the input to the park might require an electrical system upgrade - or not launch both simultaneously.
  16. @Naazon I agree, I loved watching Rock n Rollercoaster launch at Disney Paris. Even the curtains in the window above 'moving' in the wind. But showing the launch might not fit the attempted theme for SE.
  17. The idea of Superman is that you a catching a train, and the attack isn't expected, so the whole launch etc is to be a surprise (except that you walk under the launch track).
  18. I think I saw the end of that last night on TV. Between 5pm & 7pm on Channel 7
  19. And ultimately, the train could be put into an easement and still run across the site if the Big Brother studio/Blue Lagoon section is sold off.
  20. The abomination meets its fate and surplus rail and rollingstock become available for the 2ft gauge societies to try and acquire.
  21. There was rock close to the surface prior to the fill, wasn't there? Vs swampy land around MW.
  22. It's been a long time since I've been there, but would be turning left prior to rocky hollow station, along the edge of Motocoaster, through (the assumed to be removed TOT2 uprights) then around to Main Street station be possible? The photo below is from near the shed, which is higher than the railway from memory, so seems possible to me. Relocate the train shed into the TOT2 tunnel location.
  23. We've got to remember this is a ride from the "we need to do something as cheaply as possible era" of dreamworld. Clearly in the 9 month wait, no one reviewed the budget produced pre-show. Now it's opened in a rush. Hopefully with the new direction and leadership, this is under review and a new process is in development.
