Tower of Terror 2 closing
Aw hype replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
IF TOT were to be removed, how would you go about the continued operation of (what I'm assuming) is a perfectly operating giant drop? Is it as simple as removing the station and track (including that on the side of the tower) or are they a two for one package and can't operate without each other? -
Is that bad CGI or did they go with whole 'unrendered tube' design. Those things look ugly
-
Would that mean the '12 million dollar' price tag associated with the abyss is a rough representation of total project cost (implying a cost of around 6 million for ride infrastructure) or would that figure reference just the price of the ride itself and not the total project.

The old ropes course and rock wall have been set up and are in use at camp Kerem https://www.keremadventurecamp.com.au/fun-and-adventure.html (rock wall and ropes course shown on page) This clipping from a news article (https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/finding/commercial-investment/leisure/33466-western-australia-theme-parks-up-for-sale-with-long-term-lease.html) about the sale of the Dunsborough Xscape park (predating the closure of Great Escape) also triggered my curiosity; "Owner and operator, Douglas Campbell, is selling the property to further invest in his growing theme park business – also being the operator of Mirrabooka’s Action Park and Hillary Boat Harbour’s The Great Escape." Were the great escape slides 2nd hand from Mirrabooka action park? If not where did the action park slides go?

I'm highly likely to be wrong here but didn't they try to do a refurb of BR but couldn't source the parts? Feel like I'm getting a bit confused with inferno...... And with the likely location of mi4 being discovered, what do you guys think will happen to the castle area? Is it really worth AW keeping a decrepit island with a swamp and a castle in the middle of the park if it's only going to be used on two weekends in a season?

For some reason this looks like a sick GTA 5 edit/montage -
Thunder River Rapids Incident Civil Claims In The Media
Aw hype replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So from my observation these people were on a raft that wasn't involved in the incident but was possibly doing a ride cycle at the time? I thought there were two younger kids (around 12) on the flipped raft that managed to escape the harness because they were smaller than the others. I'd say those poor children are likely to have some sort of PTSD related illness, but not random people on another ride cycle -
Is the castle island being used as a scare maze

Definitely the Pandora ride at Animal Kingdom. Heard that gets pretty packed. Expedition Everest wouldn't be a bad idea either

Rides left stuck on tilting Roller-Coaster
Aw hype replied to DJKostya's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Seemed to have every bit of valuable research done other than the fact that another tilting coaster exists. https://rcdb.com/12186.htm -
Bit hypocritical?
-
I see your point. If this was a movie world thread or something yes, maybe then split it up into individual trip reports. Just a bit unnecessary on a thread about a small park like AW from which we have had 54 topic posts over the whole summer. Anyway, Tim made a new one, LOL
-
Mark did say keep your eye on that area 😉
-
Even if the name was changed to something along the lines of 'Adventure world - Mi4 and general discussion' the clarification would be there. It's unrealistic that this will become a mega thread as mi3 and general park talk is nothing like combining a Gold Coast park update thread with a construction thread.
-
Seeing as people consider Adventure World an action park, or at least by definition of park members, and the fact that this thread was started before the construction of the water fortress, is the title not fitting? Its literally about a water park that was at the time coming to Perth and is now here.

Probably posted elsewhere but seems relevant -
Misters were present when I went on the 8th Good to see Rampage was actually running full cycles. I must've just gone on a weird day

Since we were on the topic of the castle site and its future, read this excerpt from AW FB page on @iwerks website from a couple of years ago... ''It is with a heavy heart that today we will see the demolition of the iconic Adventure World Castle. A fire in November last year badly damaged the structure. But out of the ashes comes new & more exciting things so watch this space for future developments!" (http://parks115.blogspot.com/2014/08/adventure-world-end-of-castle.html) Any thoughts as to if the end of this statement would ever become? Perhaps one of the Mi attractions were gonna go there? Here is another excerpt from media website WA Today Adventure World CEO Mark Shaw said the remains of the 31-year-old castle would be demolished when the park closes over winter and the area "made good" (https://www.watoday.com.au/national/western-australia/adventure-worlds-castle-may-not-be-rebuilt-20140114-30t2f.html)

Rampage was pretty much empty all do. I did not at once see a full ride cycle, or anyone in the back row for that matter. What did Ross say was the issue with Inferno?

Had a interesting trip today. I can in no way fault Goliath. Walking up to it, the Gyro swing did not appear to be all that big (my first visit since it opened). However, being the first rider in the line and getting on the first cycle, I was completely amazed by how high this thing makes you go, how much airtime you can get and how fast you feel swinging back down. You'd almost get an inverting sensation if you were in the right spot. At peak the line got about 45 minutes minutes long, or roughly 5 or 6 cycles before you could ride. Noticed little themed doors in these trees on the walkway from dragons kingdom to the outback animal area. These were such an awesome inclusion that shows the great attention to detail AW has strived to maintain. As stated by Iwerks, the animal area is closed. Animal enclosures were obviously empty, with construction vehicles dotted around. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't notice any significant changes to the enclosures or enclosure walkways. If it weren't for @iwerks previous post, I wouldn't have thought the animal area wouldn't actually reopen, as imo, the work, upkeep and constant need to update the area simply isn't worth it as it's relatively unknown and unvisited by the GP, or as per my observations. The removal of the Rampage and or Inferno really wouldn't come as a great surprise to me. Inferno because of the lack of ridership (the maximum ride wait was about 1 ride cycle, or 5 minutes) and the constant trouble they have finding the Huss maintenance parts. Inferno has a new ride cycle too: shot and drop, shot and drop, shot and drop, slow lift controlled drop. Rampage was so empty they had to literally run 3-5 people cycles at 1pm in the afternoon. I don't think that's very worthwhile tbh The abyss has become so much of a head banger that one ride in front and back was enough for me. I rode car 1 and car 3, both of which were horribly rough and gave my mate and I a headache. It was almost like Deja Vu of when I rode HWSW. I don't think a 5 year old ride should be that rough! Are all Gerstlauer coasters like that? Kraken was awesome, but as per usual, being the deservedly most popular ride in the park, the line was about 45-60 minutes long all day. All other water rides were also busy, with a 31 degree day pretty nice to get soaked in. The old site of the castle has had zero work done on it, as far as as I could see, other then the castle demolition. There is a locked gate where the entrance to the castle was, and the bridge that would take you over the 'moat' and to the castle is used as what I assume a storage area for the construction/temporary fencing (there were several construction fences stacked on said bridge, with a white and green plastic cover). Under the bridge lay a bobcat (CONSTRUCTION MACHINE) in the dried up semi circular tube that that circles the castle and was the moat. From my observations, if it were to be cleaned up, it could perfectly and ironically fit a lazy river. That's if they were to remove the build up of crap such as branches and leaves everywhere. AW have almost tried to hide the island by letting brush overgrow, convincing the GP that there is nothing there. P.S. sorry that there are no pictures. For some unknown reason I couldn't upload them from my camera to my Mac 😕
