  1. Whilst probably not of too much interest to most of you, thought i'd upload some photos and a bit of a trip report from a visit just prior to Christmas that i've only just got to. All in all i think the Shaun the Sheep integration in the park is fantastic. Multiple photo opps with some quality statues all over the park starting from the carpark walkway. The show is entertaining for the kids, and a fresh concept for the park, definitely done "in house" as opposed to a port from somewhere else - my only complaint would be the need for air con or more fans in the area The tractor ride is simple, but i had hoped it would have been more elaborate. It is literally a 4-5 minute ride from in front of the current Stockman show paddock, up the path between the main building and the kangaroo walk through/photo shop, past the bird feeding area (which has a "stop" for departing passengers only, no one can get on at this point, though its only 1 minute from the main stop anyway). It would be have been nice for it to take in the surrounds of the park or the extremities at least and turn it into a 10-15 min ride. The tractor/train itself is well theme. The kids playground is just that... the waterplay area i missed as we were heading to Wet N Wild afterwards. The new building up towards to the top of the park ("Adventure Camp") is quite good - it has air con (yay) and bean bags/seats to sit down and relax with STS playing on the screen. There is free colouring/arts stations for the kids. There is also an upcharge activity which i have to say is actually well worth it and not just a money making gimmick. For $10 you get a set of clay and instructions on how to build a clay shaun the sheep and his dog friend (NFI what his name is). Once complete, you take it over to a little station that is set up as a farm with toy animals etc, and using an ipad you make your own little claymation clip (basically making small movements between each photo, which are then all put together into a clip - roughtly 50-60 shots making a 5 or so second clip - exactly the same process claymation animation uses, which is then emailed to you. The additions have probably padded the park out to a 3/4 day experience if you wanted to see all the shows - but given we had seen them all and really just went to see the new additions, it was about 2 hours before we were burning up and headed to WnW.
  2. Yep... those m1 billboards are prime real estate in December, the space would have been booked at least 6 months out, and artwork supplied at least a month out. There was no backing out of that, the marketing team would have created their entire plan over 6 months in advance, around the date that was given to them by ops/management which likely would have been Boxing Day. Then most would have gone off on staggered holidays from early Dec-late Jan as is common with most corporate jobs.
  3. Haze fluid is pretty expensive.... 🤷‍♂️
  4. And New York Pizza slices
  5. Firstly, I didn’t abuse you, and despite you deserving an abusive retort, I won’t, as hopefully a mod will simply ban you for being abusive for zero reason. Carrying on the way you did just discredits you further
  6. Yeah no food list on the website makes zero sense, was weighing up whether to get the 3 meals for $30 which is only available online, but you can only see what options you can’t choose (ribs, seafood platter and all the normal outlets). Pretty stupid.
  7. Swear someone said the same thing 2 weeks ago and it was absolute BS...
  8. As Alex said, how long is a piece of string... Westfield was supposed to open 8 years ago.. the original concept had a new entry gate for DW at the end of said precinct, however it’s unlikely that is still part of the plans
  9. That land was sold off years ago as it is master planned for a retail/dining/entertainment precinct as part of the Coomera activity plan of which stage 1 was Westfield which is across the road from said parcel of land
  10. Sky point is a tourist attraction on the 70th floor of the Q1. They are tenants of the building. They have absolutely nothing to do with the actual resort or building. There is no pool in skypoint, it’s an observation deck and bar.
  11. I don’t see any issue with fire exits or security on current procedures. Fire exits, measure and routes are all independently audited you mentioned a large security issue is not having every bag checked - I’m asking why you believe that
  12. Of what relevance is that to theme parks?
  13. Well Dreamworld opens at 9 (currently) and MW at 9:30 (rides at 10) so not sure why you expected anything different? As for the “security issue” as only half the people had their bags checked... why is this a security issue? What % of bags are checked when you go to a shopping centre? The cinema? Theatre? Exhibition centre? Yep ... zero.
  14. Awesome piece, really enjoyed watching it, very informative and reinforced my thoughts and opinions quite well.
  15. Parks opening 30mins prior to rides opening isn’t a new thing, it’s pretty commonplace really. It gives people time to meander over to the area or rides they want to explore first, do a bit of shopping in the retail outlets or grab a coffee. I remember Gold Rush at Wonderland didn’t open until an hour after the park opened from memory. Everyone used to be waiting next to the parachute drop (name escapes me at the moment) in the tunnel for the rope drop
  16. People need to stop the whole bullying call out BS. Making a joke, about a location of all things, isn’t bullying. Bullying is serious, and I’ve seen no evidence of it here, ever. The whole “no one thinks outside of the GC when talking about Aussie parks” comment was clear to even blind Freddy to be a tongue in cheek, sarcastic comment.
  17. True, but Aquacolour is part of bigger experience in Carnivale. Carnivale is marketed pretty well imo. They could certainly incorporate Aquacolour better into that program, but I don’t see competing water/light shows taking away from the appeal of Carnivale
  18. Visited Sega World numerous times in my early teens (13-14). My friends and I really enjoyed it, and I remember it being one of the first “solo” days we were allowed to do - catch the train into the city, spend the day at Sega World, and train home - sans adults (prior to that it was only day trips to wonderland). Rail Chase and Ghost rider were fun imo. At that stage it was the only indoor coaster in the country to my knowledge (or accessible to me anyway) so that added to the allure. I certainly feel with upgrades along the way both rides wouldn’t be out of place in the likes of Aussie World.
  19. Vivid is in Sydney so isn’t really catering for or attracting the same audience. It’s unlikely that many of the people attending Aquacolour would also be attending Vivid. I live on the GC and never knew Brisfest offered much other than Riverfire. I’ve now seen that they do a river of lights show, however it certainly hasn’t been well promoted down the coast if it’s been around long.
  20. Pretty sure @westical was alluding to the fact that nights are selling out early as all one pass holders get a free entry..
  21. I am not aware of any max temp restrictions being placed on rides. Weather closures generally are due to storm activity, rain or wind speeds
  22. I’m hearing you...
