By the sounds of the investor/market update, the HyperCoast(er) Walk appears to be standalone as opposed to part of the Star Tour. The results flagged more potential for growth as it rolls out new attractions like Sea Jellies, Shaun the Sheep, the new HyperCoast Walk and the new Australian Outback Spectacular show.

We don’t even know what SDSC is anymore and Won’t until it reopens. I don’t think anyone is advocating an Indoor wild mouse for DW. There are plenty of other dark ride options. It also doesn’t need to be the best dark ride in the world or ever on the coast, it just needs to a good and fill a void in their attraction line up

Admission price and ride selection are unrelated... ride selection comes down to availability of the ride, size or stature of event, and location/space restrictions

Seems strange to me to be removing sections of track on a 12 month old ride. I’ve never seen them remove sections of track from SE or AA during maintenance. That’s not to say it hasn’t been done however, I just wouldn’t imagine anything would need replacing of that magnitude that you’d need to remove track after only 12 months

Well of course rides are not free... but that wasn’t my point... the point is if you take a look at that list and there is one ride of interest, it is worth going and paying for that one ride, as opposed to there being an entry fee whereby you feel you need to get “worth” out of that fee by doing multiple things

It’s free entry... so even if there is one ride you are interested in riding it’s “worth it”

I’d love to see something LTRR-esque incorporating all of the DreamWorks properties, something original and Unique. That would obviously have to be coupled with an extended agreement with Dreamworks, as re-theming would be akin to starting over again if they were to lose the rights. To my knowledge there is no plans for further Madagascar or Kung Fu Panda movies and a long mooted Shrek 5 seems to have dropped off the production line. A Trolls sequel is in the works which makes it the only active current theme.

Just drove past and GL was cycling so assuming it’s open work continues on same section on DCR. They seem to have strung some sort of cable below the hill, not sure if it’s maintenance related or they are planning on hanging something there

Excuse what may be ignorance, but why would the arms need to be removed off DD during maintenance unless there is some sort of major structural issue they have found?

Welcome Chris! i personally don’t have many helpful hints as it’s been over a decade since by last visit to LA. I’d suggest you and your family make a list of “must do” rides and attractions and aim to tick those off first wherever possible. Make sure you utilise the free queuing system for the major rides allowing you to do the “lesser” (for lack of a better word) rides whilst you await your allotted time on the big guns.

Yeah noticed that yesterday, and there is a site office/demountable within the Fenced off area. Guessing for SDSC works given their is no real room within the park

They can’t remove a feature of the memberships that is part of the inclusive price without letting members know it’s happening.. if you read the FAQ section: And if you’d read the next paragraph after the one you copied and pasted... (even though it contradicts the previous..)

Surely a roller coaster can’t be released from the station when none of the restraints are locked in place.. pretty sure that would be a standard feature on any/all rides with electronic restraints

FNs is usually 10pm close. WC is always 9pm close Outdoor Rides however still close 8/8:30 on FNs usually

Ride queues at all night events have always closed at hour or so prior to close time, if the park is open until 10pm you can’t close the queue at 10pm with still 60-90mins worth of queues for rides... the people are still on rides at 11, which doesn’t fly with noise regulations at MW

To be fair I think they executed Trolls Village well. For a “temporary attraction” it’s themed, staffed, designed well and delivers on exactly what it should be. I know it’s location isn’t great, but I think it’s a fantastic addition for that demographic/market and wouldn’t be out of place becoming permanent.

Really comes down to accommodation choice. Some prefer somewhere fancy as it’s a holiday, some are happy with something basic as you’ll only be there to sleep. $5k for flights roughly. I’d work off $10-$12k spending money for admissions, food etc

😕 I don’t think that’s what he’s been teasing at all... all his posts have been referring to riding after dark... what does a stair climb have to do with that? This would just be an add-on to the star tour i’d imagine..
