  1. Are you avoiding Disney on purpose?
  2. At 18-19 they won’t experience Vegas to its fullest so better to let them do that when they’re older. I’ve never done Orlando, so can only recommend Disneyland. A week in Anaheim with a 5 day park hopper for DL/CA will give you plenty of flexibility to come and go whilst you do other things. All the hotels are pickup points for day trips to Universal, Knotts, Hollywood, San Diego, Tijuana - if you don’t opt to hire a car.
  3. I don’t like your opinion haha... but I didn’t explain mine well. in all honesty I was being overly generalising. I 100% stick by my opinion that the monorail at SW being a form of transport only, and not a ride or attraction. How a means of transport elevates to be being a ride or attraction in my mind is when the experience is themed, or by partaking in that form of transport you see or have an experience you wouldn’t have if you just walked (and I’m not talking about simply seeing the park from more high up as there isn’t anything at the park in SW’s case designed to be viewed from above). The old DW paddlesteamer for instance is a ride/attraction - you experienced a show you couldn’t see Any other way. Ditto the backlot tour when it existed at MW or the one at US. The train at DL from Memory (its been along while) takes you past scenes/locations you wouldn’t see. I’d consider a horse drawn cart or a horse & carriage farm tour an attraction as that is a very unique experience that would generally take you somewhere new.
  4. Think you quoted the wrong person @pushbutton
  5. Quality GC Bulletin accident at Westfield Coomera, ambulance photo at WnW/AOS haha
  6. It’s Back!
  7. The monorail isn’t a ride, or an attraction. It’s a mode of transport for people who can’t be bothered walking. So unless “Walking to the Dolphin Show” gets listed as a ride, I wouldn’t expect the Monorail to be there.
  8. I don’t see VR as a huge threat to theme parks at all, no more so than Game Over is across the road (who VTP actually provide discounts for Members at) or Timezone/iPlay. They operate in a different space and are battling largely for different dollars. The only natural true competitor to theme parks is other theme parks. Tourists generally don’t decide whether they are going to Movieworld or Timezone, or Dreamworld or Infinity. It’s Movieworld or Dreamworld, Timezone or Infinity. One is a major tent pole attraction, the others are secondary attractions
  9. Scooby is by far the most restrictive from what I’ve seen with guests being escorted off. Superman would be next. I’ve never seen anyone not make it on DCR, but in saying that I’ve only ridden it 5 or 6 times vs probably 50 on the others
  10. I wasn’t advocating them selling WnW, just saying IF another park was on the chopping block, i believe that would be the choice - based purely on its seasonality and that Parques may have signified an interest in taking on both parks. In further hindsight, PC may be an attractive purchase for Merlin and fits within the type of attraction they already run in NSW & Sunshine Coast.
  11. Catch up McFly... we’ve known the name for over a month...
  12. Wet n Wild GC would be next cab off the ranks I’d imagine.
  13. Doesn’t bode well for the 2019 SW attraction...
  14. A park this is or appears to be fairly capex light shouldn’t be spending hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars on a ride relocation just to “make it fit better”. ”MDMC: The Indoor Experience” won’t bring a single extra person through the door
  15. None of which would be visible in the dark, which takes me back to my main point - why would you move a ride from outside to inside if you were not making use of the building? If you are going to flood the building with light you may as well leave it where it is...
  16. Probably still about 6 weeks out from any official info being released
  17. @joel the key thing Alex was saying was that Maurer won’t stop providing support to customers who have bought rides that are no unavailable for purchase or obsolete. Despite no longer manufacturing them, it is still their ride and they are still the experts when it comes to that. There would be 100% co-operation on their behalf and I imagine the level of support would no different now to 12 months ago when they still were making them for the market, as like in any business - repeat customers and referral business is key.
  18. A ridiculous idea. In what world are Motor GP races indoors? How does that make sense? What theming are you putting indoors? Will it be dark? If not, what is the point?
  19. Funnily I really like Buzzsaw, though it was much better when it first launched and went through 2 rotations. Find the harnesses great, the off your seat experience in the vertical to upside-down transition to be second to none (must do without holding on), and it packs some great speed coming out of the roll into the dive.
  20. My take on an Events area is It can be hired for parties, weddings, functions, Corp gigs. Ie not useful or catering to 99.9% of park attendees
  21. A conference & events centre. Ridiculous idea. Perfect location for a dark ride of some sort to reinvigorate the park
  22. FFS it’s Maintenance. You SPELT it differently THREE times between your post title and your post, and ALL three times you spelt it wrong. Not even third time lucky! M..A..I..N..T..E..N..A..N..C..E
  23. Nope. And Nope. at this rate Jellies will become a 2019 attraction and the unknown Vikings replacement will go the way of the vikings...
