  2. That’s a shame. When it first opened at DW and they were doing two it made the ride experience much better, and the wait worth it. Shame they haven’t taken advantage of that.
  3. Insta wasn’t even a mainstream release with video until 2013 so there goes that… User numbers have heavily increased the past 3 years, whilst the annual % increase in 2022 was the highest ever, so if anything, insta is more relative today than at any other point in its history.
  4. Whats more iconic than over-sized plant pots (sans plants of course), a facade of fake beach change rooms, artificial grass with a carport, and a giant chair?
  5. Greg Yong must have ignored his friend request on Insta..
  6. Went to Carnivalle Saturday largely for Atlantis at night. Levi was down for about an hour but managed to get on with virtual queue at about 7:30 which was just fantastic. had my first ride of vortex too which I had avoided previously but with no line gave it a go. The back to back triple flips were decent, but it’s a poor man’s Wipeout. Trident is an abomination. For all the hassle and downtime it should just be removed as it’s an embarrassment for the park. My wife and son wanted to give it a go, I said I’d take a wander as I knew it would be arduous from my previous visit. they entered the queue at 5:35 and by 6:50 they had run 5 cycles. 5 cycles in 75mins! I personally watched the having to recheck all belts 7 times on one cycle. Then when my wife and son finally got on, there was a ride fault and it closed. So by then over 90mins and didn’t get a ride.
  7. And I’d never plan a trip for a particular ride for the day after it’s due to come from maintenance.
  8. Yeah Wedgie's closure was originally due to covid capacity and distancing on the stairwell. Then i think it just became about popularity vs Green Room as even prior to covid they only tended to operate it a couple of hours a day. 2 & 3 have not re-opened since the young girl failed to adhere to the correct ride positioning. hurt herself and her parents went to the media who of course inflamed their story with the TRRR tragedy and the teenager who (also not following correct protocol) ejected from RHLR and it became a far bigger thing than it was..
  9. Lord help us if they are introducing VR goggles… lucky to get through 2-3 cycles an hour…
  10. Everyone I know calls it Rivals… FYI - no one working for Village is putting this application together, it’s an external company they’ve engaged that specialises in DA’s/planning etc, and would just be a naming error by them
  11. I haven’t been to Disneyland for 22 years but I would just as happily go on any and every ride when I get there next if you have happiness and joy within you - you’ll find them all fun and enjoyable regardless of your age. And there is certainly decent thrills and excitement in many of the offerings, and that was before CA opened which I just missed last time around
  12. At least 100 times, and I’ve never noticed it. Probably because I’m enjoying the ride and focusing on the experience rather than looking for what may or may not be visible in an obscured maintenance bay - which I have no doubt 99.9% of people are also doing
  13. Unless the ride detours into the maintenance bay…. No one is seeing anything. Please don’t tell me you think that area of SE is part of the ride…
  14. Being a regular at the markets, I think Claw would be a perfect option to operate. it just makes sense as it’s within the envelope, highly visible, creates atmosphere and movement within the precinct. the wave swinger will be a massive success when it opens. hopefully in time the addition of those 2 rides may increase attendance to a level that’s sustainable for ST to open as well, even if it’s only one night of the week
  15. It is progressing through council approvals - a large amount of referral agency reports were requested (Energex, Public transport impacts etc) and these were all submitted last week. You can read them all on the GC PD Online platform. Council getting the sign off from the referral agencies that they are happy with the plans and amendments is the key next step.
  16. The night markets have always had live entertainment - they are just using the weekend to allow buskers to show their skills. it’s also not last minute as it’s been being promoted for a couple of weeks now. the vendors pay to operate at the market, so that’s where the profit comes from
  17. I think our parks know they are not Disney, and trying to emulate Disney with less resources is probably a bigger fail that just doing their own thing
  18. I have no doubt there will be some sort of merch store/kiosk/offering including in the final design as for a themed food outlet - given it’d likely be closed except for in school holiday periods I don’t see a point
