  1. Fairly common for any new attraction to go down for a short maintenance period once it's run up a few miles in its gears, in this case, after its first school holidays. Nothing to be concerned about
  2. Very strange no dates in the week lead up to Xmas. I'm certain they'll add one for Fri 23rd, surely.
  3. That's sucks @Theme Park Girl ive known a few people cop redundancies in the last couple weeks. Seems to be the time for it with financial strain and a lot of industries coming into a quiet holiday season. Wish you all the best, I'm sure your tee something up in the next 6 weeks, granted it is not the best time to be in the job market just before Xmas. Good luck!
  4. There is no stipulation with council zoning that you can't see a ride attraction, stipulations are only regarding noise, crowd movement etc.
  5. We already have a Ninja here, sorry. Creep it is.
  6. Creep. i did post some excerpts from that article back when it was first posted.
  7. @Jobe that's a fair opinion to hold. Maybe the reason the reason these other people are not 'called out' is because they never usually offer any quality of note to discussion, and @Jamberoo Fan certainly does. Anyways, I didn't mean to derail the thread. Let's move on
  8. @Jamberoo Fan i love your passion, that you are detailed, you explain yourself. BUT... im not sure whether it's your style of writing or an actual belief, but you are increasingly coming across as a "I know more than you do" "holy than thou" contributor. We have @loki75 join the conversation and offer up some info he feels comfortable sharing, and whilst we all receive anything unconfirmed with trepidation and an element of skepticism, you wrote post after post, and long drawn out ones at that, basically telling him he's wrong, but at the same time admitting you haven't seen the plans yourself so are only guessing. You need to ease back, not in your number of posts or your effort to get involved in topics, most of your stuff is quality, but you are starting to really overanalyse and over critique to the point your posts have gone from adding value to the conversation to now being about trying to prove you know more and everyone else is wrong.
  9. Go back to sleep razz. Come back tomorrow, you're losing it..
  10. I didn't know the ride manufacturer was still a point of conjecture.. @MickeyD I've always thought a September school holiday launch would be best placed to allow them to maximise Christmas/summer attendance with holidaymakers
  11. Well if the sign is still above the door as @YLFATEEKS says I'd imagine it's accessible or at least used to be. are you referring to this 'shack' TPG?
  12. He must really like staying in his house then...
  13. Well that's a world first - a rollercoaster with 3 names. Blue Beetles? Wtf... I'll tell you what, if that is the final name of the coaster when it opens in 12 months, I'll buy you a Parkz membership, for life. Clearly takes someone smarter than you to realise Mack coasters use the same basic foundation supports
  14. Dude there is no need to quote all the photos again when making your comment
  15. Complete news to me as well. Cool story though. You'd think with such rich history behind it there would be a plaque or something in the park to mention it
  16. The first funeral will be held today, with 2 more this weekend and the final one on Monday. DW CEO has announced that out of respect for the families, there is a media blackout and no further media calls/press releases/interviews will occur until after the funerals next week.
  17. I don't like hypothesising when we don't know the facts, but it isn't impossible to believe that the 3 elements coming together is what caused a usual run of the mill issue becoming tragic. We know the pump/s was having issues at some point earlier that day. Potentially the decision was made to keep the pump running at a reduced efficiency as this hasn't led to issues previously, or there was no foreseen negative outcome in doing so. A mechanical component then could have failed, i.e. a sensor that detects a boat in the first block area after the conveyor, causing the conveyer to continue to move when usually it would stop, and just happened to do so at the exact time a boat happened to be stuck. finally human error in an attendant not noticing that a boat happened to have become stuck/bottomed out and/or the non-stopping of the conveyor and hitting the e-spot prior to an impact occurring, potentially due to such an issue no arising previously. Again all that is entirely conjecture and just an example of how all 3, however unlikely in isolation, 'could' occur simultaneously in some 'perfect storm' scenario. And clarifying further, none of the examples I have given may be true and are not based on any fact or knowledge of the actual events
  18. Ugh... how does one hide deaths in a theme park with 44,000 people with cameras, phones & social media. If someone died on a ride in Disneyland tomorrow we'd know in Australia at the same moment park management got a call to say it happened...
  19. Wondering if @loki75 may have a confirmed track distance on his plans at all..
  20. Everyone is a newbie at some point. We take everything with a grain of salt until we get confirmation or some concrete evidence, it's not personal. Thanks for sharing what you know
  21. Give me that ride turn for turn, twist for twist and I would be over the moon. Anything of the ilk would change the theme park landscape on the GC immediately as it would raise the stakes between parks on what the ceiling is for the level/scale of rides & attractions in our parks
  22. Boom Boom. 2 posts, 2 doozies! Welcome There is plenty of footage of them moving the dummy's around, filling them with water etc. Also footage of the water filling the troughs. Air space restrictions began once the dummy's were to be placed in the boats.
  23. A fairly important feature on all rides i'd say...
  24. Ridiculous article, the CEO's lifestyle is of no importance, relevance or interest
