  1. You don't suffer from bouts of spontaneous posting whilst sleep walking do you?
  2. I don't think the cars would have 'costed' much, as it was a relocation of a museum. I doubt Dreamworld have any legal ownership of any of them. The cost would have come from the construction & theming, which whilst not church change would be a damn sight cheaper than bringing Eureka back to operational ability
  3. It's been executed very well, it just doesn't appeal to a wide audience imo, and isn't intrinsically linked to theme parks, I get maybe the whole 'adrenaline' linkage, but it's not a strong connection. I walked around it as a 'I've done that' and won't bother again. I went into the retail store yesterday, because they were walking the tiger cub in there, but looking out there wasn't a single person in the exhibit itself. There was 4 staff members though! Eventually that'll drop to 1, with the photo opp only open weekends no doubt.
  4. Welcome dmh and please respect our hesitation in taking your word 100% as a first time poster here. out of interest, how does a ride have a 88% theming? Where's the other 12%. 88% western, 12% not themed at all?? its a churro tower, but the top of it is missing the sugar?
  5. Might be looking at higher tier passes giving a larger food & bev/retail discount, cheaper fast pass access etc
  6. I struggle to comprehend how you could find employment let alone get promoted... you were promoted a few nights ago to certified looney..
  7. yep - exactly what I posted on the previous page
  8. I couldn't tell you when it was last down from memory, but I agree it doesn't seem it was very long ago, just prior to Xmas i believe.
  9. As great as some of the great work DW has done of late, the train ride this afternoon served as a great illustration of closed attractions. The 'presenter' over the speakers spent all their time talking about what was closed. 3:30ish boarded at Central Station Stop 1: 'Billabong' "this stop is where you'll find our newly refurbished restaurant, which is currently closed for the day, but is open 11:30-2 daily'. This is also home ABC4Kids world which is great for the kids to run around, but has closed for today, as had Motorcoaster. These rides close at 3:30 mon-fri. Hopefully you can come back another day and take advantage of these attractions." Stop 2: 'Corroboree' "Australian & indigenous animals speil. This is also the best stop for our Vintage Cars attraction, which is currently closed due to off peak season. The ride only operates on Weekends Stop 3: 'Rocky Hollow' "this is the stop for one of DW's original attractions, the RHLR. The ride is currently closed for scheduled maintenance." on the last stretch, she announced "just a friendly reminder of our current attractions closures" then listed Wipeout, Big Red Car, Vintage Cars & RHLR, ABC4Kids & MDMC again, and then repeated them, again. "Sorry for the inconvenience caused". Wow.
  10. I think Scooby to Gremlins is a tough comparison. Gremlins was far more immersive, and true to 'Movie' World. Scooby is, IMO, at excellently executed family coaster (when all effects are working correctly)
  11. DW announced today they have received 2 white tigers Cubs, who will be in show in a quarantine nursery from Friday. This explains the new quarantine signs and structure
  12. Does this same person who works for the GCB also wrote the completely baseless story about a Jurassic World theme park opening at Coomera? Haha A BvS duelling coaster would actual be an amazing addition to the park, but I just don't see it happening, at all
  13. It's business as usual guys, just another urgency sales mechanism. Maybe there will be a price rise but the Service won't change
  14. Maybe it's required maintenance? with the Easter holidays beginning in mid-late March this year rather than April, it really had to be down now or hold out til late April which may not have been possible with maintenance requirements
  15. My thoughts as well GoGo. I personally haven't seen a show inside the showstage (that I can remember unless it was 20 years ago) so have only been in during fright nights but given the layouts of the mazes I can't see it being that intact during the nights, nor reason for them assembling it back together afterwards
  16. (Slightly unrelated) I know this is going to crush you Push... But Jupiters have announced the monorail is being demolished when they start the new tower...
  17. Does a spinning coaster counter as a spin & spew?
  18. Actually.. The article wasn't even about a Jurassic themed park, it was pure conjecture. Basically.. rich guys wants to build theme park on GC + rich guy also wants to buy a share in movie production company + said movie production company produced Jurassic World (and about 1000 other movies) = rich guy wants to build a Jurassic theme park on the GC typical GC bulletin journalism
  19. Uploaded photos yesterday, so just pretend that last facade is gone.. And presto!
  20. Exactly the reason I've only been in it once... It's like a slow moving Sauna.. you have to stick your face next to small grill to get a breath of fresh air
  21. Guess like all things it comes down to price, and availability.. Maybe the MW job has been pushed forward and Logan City was all that was available on shorter notice
  22. Has happened to me a few times as well. And only on my mobile. Just keep putting a Previous quote in front, only way to get rid of it is to post the quote box (you can delete content)
  23. Well you could hope for multiple flats, you could get 2 or 3 in that space, or given for the most part it's previously been a ghost town with nothing to offer, I wouldn't be half surprised to see a single flat just plonked in the middle of the land with some theming around and room for something else 'in the future'
  24. I think you can read into it that the 'building' as such will be kept for now for scream world but will be incorporated or overtaken by a new attraction in the not too distant future. Clearly the cost of upkeep for the laser tag exceeded the demand to current utilise it
