Movie World, February 2016
You talking about the Road Runner coaster? displays the rider photos... When working.

Tiger Island Refurbishment - Dreamworld 2016
That would require the majority of Gold Rush to be fenced off... You couldn't demolish Eureka without closing the whole area down as there it is surrounded by other attractions

What would make an "Aussie" park?
Yep... Would sound so much more authentic if superman was rescuing people from Nerang train station from a tribe of bogans

Sea World maintenance
So it's depressing that the poles are gone? Lets keep em up!

Sea World New Attraction 2016
By the old 'fun pool' do you mean the water play area & slide next to castaway bay?

What would make an "Aussie" park?
Sounds amazing and well thought out. Would not doubt be the biggest tourist hit in the country if marketed correctly. I think a good subsection for Qld would a Gold Coast area tbh... Beachside market style eateries, and a Surfers Paradise-esque themed games area with traditional fair games/video games/dodgems/laser skirmish

VRTP Membership
Yep, but you membership will still revert to monthly after the period you pay upfront unless you cancel it
-
Dreamworld Steam Train
I believe they only have one licenced/trained driver for the steam engine, he may not want to work every weekend... There may be maintenance issues related to excessive use as well

Chinese New Year
It's just a bit of theming, Dreamworld doing same. Just catering to the many Asian tourists who visit daily.

VRTP Membership
All memberships are now monthly as far as I am aware. That way there is no fixed expiry date that continue until you cancel

Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction
A few points: 1. No one has said "it's a hyper". It's just ideas and opinions and conjecture 2. There is 327 days until Boxing Day which would be likely launch day. With favourable Qld weather, the timeframe available doesn't discount any potential ride 3. In saying that, we haven't even had firm confirmation that the ride opens this year. I believe it will, but again that's speculation or following past trends/timelines

Doomsday Destroyer - 2016 Movie World construction
Imo the lakeside precinct and entertainment precinct are one and the same. Both lodged the same day, probably incorrectly filed or entered into the database as 2 seperate things. The rollercoaster is seperate again. i believe the timing of the works will see the rollercoaster debuting before the entertainment precinct opens. But that's just my opinion...

Happily stand corrected then! Thanks for doing the leg work Richard!

Dreamworld Steam Train
I'm no surveyor nor could I be bothered doing a gps measurement, but I definitely this the track would be longer than a 1.5km circuit.. They may be embellishing slightly and including the maintenance track and switch into the total figure, but 1.5km seems too short for mine..

Tiger Island Refurbishment - Dreamworld 2016

Movieworld (and the other theme Parks) generally don't need their DA's to go before council to be approved. They basically have blanket approval to develop within their site, within conditions. A private assessor has delegated authority to approve on the councils behalf, as such the documents are not submitted to council for deliberation, so are not uploaded. thats my understanding anyway..

I'd imagine it would be cheaper to manufacture today than it was, nor would it need as much reinforcement as needed in Japan to "earthquake proof' it. Regardless of those points, i reckon you can lock in a big NO for that idea. No to the family ride. we're looking for the best thrill ride Possible
