  1. glad i kept scrolling before clicking post because i'd had typed the exact same comment.
  2. People are not constantly dying at theme parks however, nor is there constantly serious accidents. There has been one major well publicised (TRRR) and one not particularly well known (GL) "accident" this century. More people have been killed by dogs in the last 3 years than have died in Australian theme parks in the past 30. It's a fluff/hype piece timed inextricably just before school holidays when theme parks are their busiest. The producers clearly couldnt find enough material to base it purely on Australia (plus no one wants to hear anything else about bloody TRRR), so they've gone international where safety standards and requirements differ to what we have here - but the average consumer probably does not know that, so it becomes a "if it happened over there, it can happen here" thing. They'll probably show the phone-filmed footage of that pendulum ride collapsing in India a couple years back, and fade it out to show The Claw..... just so it grabs attention
  3. First time i've seen a video of Turbo Track and it looks horrendous. The best thing about it is the LCD screens and signage
  4. They got busy on that fence, wasn’t there on Sunday. Does look a lot nicer.
  5. So carousel, gingys, dronkeys and sword swing all down. yikes. It does lend itself to the rumour that dreamworks may be going
  6. Definitely think it was the in-house design aspect. From an insurance/perception standpoint after TRRR investigations and inquest had finished it was operationally the safe option.
  7. Fun while it lasted 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
  8. fair enough. Strange as most of the residential on that side had no issue nor did Westfield from what i have heard.
  9. I didnt look though/beyond the barriers blocking the pathway to see in what state Dronkey's was in on Saturday when i was there (3 weeks ago it was entirely removed), so not sure if its been rebuilt or not as yet.
  10. Wasn’t all areas. I don’t believe DW would have lost power, outage in the northern GC suburbs was largely isolated to those west of the M1.
  11. Happy Halloween night is included. Other After Dark events have always been upcharged with pass holders getting a discount on them
  12. Officially announced The introduction of a greater array of f&b options to accompany the event is great There are also 2 night events coinciding with the Winterfest, and a VIP option for $89pp
  13. DW had an app, it was rubbish though. hardly a need for virtual queue except in peak times. it’s a beautiful sunny Sunday today and the longest wait has been 15mins and that was because of a ride stoppage, and despite having numerous rides out of action. MDMC, EFM, TS have been walk on basically all day
  14. SV is still closed today, but BS at least for the moment in operation. in other news DW is moving to no physical annual cards too like VTP. We renewed during the week and went it today and whilst they’ll give you a card if you really want it, they want people using their mobiles and soon won’t be an option. And Pandamonium has just broken down whilst we are in queue. One of the arms won’t move into “home” position so they can’t undo the harnesses so everyone is stuck on the ride while they wait for maintenance
  15. Picnic area?? There is nowhere to buy food from nearby, and you can’t take eskys in - so who is having a picnic or eating there??
  16. And has a 90kg weight limit now apparently... what a great selection adults have to choose from...
  17. It’s has issues consistently the last 2 weekends with people stuck on the ride for extended times. The whole thing is a shit show that surely VTP must be starting to consider giving up on it.
  18. It’s not open long enough for anyone to virtually queue....
  19. The 90s nostalgia trip is only being provided to please people - they are not putting it on for shits and giggles....
