  1. Not sure if this group shot has been posted elsewhere but was shared on LinkedIn by Michael Croaker
  2. I’d like what you wrote @Slick but apparently I’ve given too many likes today haha
  3. Been saying it for years, duelling coasters themed to the The Flash (red) and Reverse Flash (yellow) would be a great theme choice. Nice tie in with the film coming out at the end of next year too. only shame in that is it leaves Batman with the least iconic ride in the park, when we all know he’s the best superhero...
  4. The discussion about lifts was for the rafts, not the people...
  5. You have to look at the market you are promoting to - that group, which i only just joined as i had never heard of it until it was raised here - is more so filled with what i would consider "fans" rather than enthusiasts. Most are surface level interested in the park. They go on Monday and watch the parade and post photos of it, then go again on saturday and watch the parade again, wax lyrical and post basically the same photos again from a different vantage point. They are also unabashed in defending any criticism of the park. As i said, its fanboy stuff at a surface level. To most on that page, this is a BIG thing. In comparison i would consider many here to be "enthusiasts" as we often chat about the thought patterns behind the decisions, and can equally applaud and critique the parks. We hold judgement until we see final results, and we are generally more measured.
  6. The COO clearly said there would be announcements soon (which would have been reflective of todays announcements) and more to come later. He never said, all you hear on Friday is all we are doing.
  7. The ear bashing that pained you post ride on LW was removed with the new trains. Others found that was replaced by pressure on the thighs/upper legs where the harness met - but i personally didnt experience that. You also had the option to wear a VR headset which would obviously have provided a different experience, had we had some forewarning about its closure, i would have ensured i experienced this, but i didnt get to
  8. Shall not be happening. Wet N Wild prefers an enjoyable day at the park to be akin to a workout at the gym with steps and lots of carrying... There is nothing to indicate lifts in the artwork or animations provided.
  9. From the same article: * A celebration of Movie World’s 30th, dubbed Hooray for Hollywood, with displays of props from classic films plus the theme park’s largest-ever parade each afternoon of the June-July school holidays. No ride announcement for MW
  10. Why would they publicly come out and make that a focal point of their marketing if it isn’t true??
  11. Solid? I really hope it’s better than solid. With no major investment in wet n wild for a decade it needs great, not solid
  12. Looked like a burrow so was thinking wombat but the video shows some type of long limb
  13. Ahh thanks for filling me in... Must be like when Tinder got real popular so Sizzler closed down. i’d swipe left for cheese toast any day...
  14. I heard a whisper today that Sea World Resort will soon be rebranding. not sure of the new brand is, but could be potentially so V Hotels (or whatever connotation they run with) become a bit of a chain at their venues
  15. Counter productive from a operational perspective though as if people get on and through all the rides in a short period they are more likely to leave the park earlier which takes our f&b opportunities.
  16. That takes them through to the school holidays. I have no doubt from mid July when school goes back until September it will once again return to 4 day operations, before moving back to 7 days ops through until March
  17. Well done for thinking outside of the square, but that concept is as logistically likely as an underground rapid transit system..
  18. The wording in the press release is all singular, but I can’t fathom any decision being made to only purchase one train for your new major attraction. This isn’t boating school blast, it’s a 1.2km ride with a decent ride time, 2 trains are expected at a minimum.
  19. Awesome haven’t seen them out in the park for a few years now
  20. Gold Coast Theme Parks: Dreamworld unveils new rollercoaster Steel Taipan Dreamworld has revealed details of its latest rollercoaster, a 105 km/h experience with an exhilarating burst of darkness during the park’s 1.2km new ride. DREAMWORLD has revealed guests will race through a rock tunnel in the Taipan’s arid desert home at up to 105 km/h, experiencing an exhilarating burst of darkness during the park’s 1.2km new ride. The news came as construction of the triple launch coaster reached a major milestone as the top of the ride’s fully inverted loop was swung into place. With the build commencing in October 2020 and the ride anticipated to open in late 2021, Condev Constructions have already completed over 40% per cent of the track installation, utilising over 125 track pieces, 140 column pieces, 6000 high strength bolts and having installed 520 pile foundations. Dreamworld said the rollercoaster train had recently left German manufacturer, MACK Rides and was expected to arrive at Dreamworld in late June. The snake-themed train was custom-designed to fit the reptilian theme of the rollercoaster and includes the world’s first spinning rear gondola. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/lifestyle/gold-coast-theme-parks-dreamworld-unveils-new-1970s-rollercoaster-the-gold-coaster/news-story/877b3ae20369a09303620d795a09f00d
  21. For families and the average tourist, I would find Dreamworld's hotel location to be much more convenient. Basically across the road from one of the largest shopping centres on the GC, with great dining and evening entertainment options, rail and bus next door. I really feel, whilst i will cater for all tourist types, Village's hotel will predominantly aimed at getting a large piece of the corporate market. Comparatively Dreamworlds' corporate and events sphere is much smaller, so they can go full focus on a family destination.
