  1. Yeah that’s kind of what I was going for when i said similar to WO but not identical
  2. New name “Rough & Tumble Coaster”
  3. I’m not going to pretend to be overly knowledgable about what ride developers have what in their stable. I know Verkoma made WO but I’m sure another manufacturer would or could have something similar albeit not an exact replication
  4. I think even an updated/modern version of a Wipeout could be a good option for MW and has a small relatively small footprint DWs version is hardly functional and surely on its last legs, they can hardly claim “you copied us” when theirs operates at a 60% max capacity and break down daily.
  5. Hot Wheels has pulled their licence... (no inside knowledge just taking a stab at it...)
  6. Looks pretty obvious... a corporate function or private party (more likely given that it is Saturday night) is being held in there and they are setting up.
  7. TG are doing half price Tuesdays at the moment
  8. Staff have been told that WWW will close for the “colder months” Parkway Patisserie is closing as well Management confident that the reduced operation of attractions will have “no inconvenience to guests”.
  9. Thought I’d see what the company line was from DW... can I post their response here or do I need to paraphrase it...
  10. The prodigal skeet has returned..
  11. “The opening of the Coomera town centre 500m from our door has awoken the locals to the fact that something exists outside of Dreamworld to keep them entertained. We’re screwed”.
  12. So... TOT2, GD, TS, SW, RHLR are now only open until 4, including on weekends MDMC open 11-4 All of ABC4Kids Land closes at 3:30, including weekends 90% of Dreamworks closing at 4 every day How to destroy a theme park 101
  13. Except half those may come down before or shortly after it opens. I’m sure they were booked with Boxing Day and summer holidays in mind, and with those locations at a premium they’d likely be booked back to back by different companies, you can’t just call up and say “whoops we missed our opening by 2 months, leave them up another 2 months”
  14. DCR says hello. There is no doubt SDSC 2.0 isn’t great, but to say they don’t have the ability to put out a good ride is ridiculous given the last new ride addition was amongst the best coasters globally
  15. As much as I think it’s great and should have a permanent place ( movie based exhibition), this type of attraction is not a major drawcard that brings people in the door, it’s filler.
  16. That’s still only going to attract locals short term, Easter holidays are traditionally slow for interstate tourists - everyone has only just got thru Xmas and long summer holidays. Whenever they launch, the sweet spot for attendance has been missed. Best they can keep is a soft relaunch towards Aug/Sept to appeal to holidays makers planning their next summer vacation
  17. Glad it’s at least had some additions. Been the same for months
  18. And even then it’s Bullshit. I’ve never seen more then 2 horses in those paddocks at a time.
  19. The new map certainly looks more vibrant and appealing and like a modern park. The old one looks like it’s been plucked from the early 90s. neither are particularly accurate in terms of features... is Surf Rider on the new one at all? Is it a sign it’s not staying around? However on the old one Surfrider is made to looks like it’s as tall if not taller than the slide towers neither great, but the new one is an improvement imo...
  20. Great report! Thank @Jobe! The entry price based on height is a curious one... I mean I understand the logic behind it, but I haven’t seen it utilised before. I’m not overly familiar with the smaller/regional parks however - is this pricing model used elsewhere? $178 for a family does seem a little steep to me... largely due to the distance outside of the CBD, but it appears to offer enough to be a comfortable full day experience
  21. Expanding hours per day doesn’t always equate to a shorter time frame for overall maintenance. maintenance length may be due to the need to send a part away for repair, or requires components to be stripped down to identify before you can order replacements etc. You can just say “well instead of closing Ride X for for 2 weeks while the park operates, let’s close the park for 2 days and get it all done”. You’ve also got a contacted workforce as well who you are now going to pay to stay at home, or deal with lengthy drawn out Union grievances which turn to negative press. Not to mention international tour groups that come through parks daily.
  22. Video screen installed on the island which twice a day will show a complication of jet ski stunt videos from YouTube along with scrolling text for self-Promotional opportunities
  23. Maybe they are targeting Chinese New Year, or Valentines Day. If they miss those holidays, there is always April Fools (still not open - gotcha!) or Easter
  24. Wtf does that have to do with the coronal inquiry?
  25. Think you’ll find Pin was referring to WnW Sydney that they totally screwed up before selling for a $90m loss
