  1. What a valuable contribution that post was... Thanks for digging up a dead post from 2 weeks ago..
  2. Stafford city is a Hoyts though (one of only a few in Qld). Anything is possible, but given the north Gold Coast has only ever been serviced by 1 cinema (reading Harbourtown), I can't see them opening 2 new cinemas within the next 3-5 years. But stranger things have happened
  3. Chermside? The Westfield there has a massive multiplex - 12 screens + vmax + 2 gold class
  4. Doubt you'll get a cinema with new cinemas opening at Coomera with the town centre and more just down the road at Harbourtown. Restaurant and bar precinct would be a must though
  5. Now now, that would have to be the shortest zip line in history...
  6. Given the amount of dumb things I've read in the past 13 days, I struggle to even vaguely comprehend that we can go another 353 days without another dumb idea. In fact I give it less than 24 hours...
  7. Yep.. Like most other rivers in the world. oh for all rivers to run translucent blue like the bay's of the Maldives..
  8. Only saw part of the second show as was exiting the park, so didn't see the 'fire' the pyro shoots out in 5 directions, all of which are Moving away from the structure and the light that shines up from beneath the pyro for the smoke effects. The only way that light could have caught fire would have been if the pyro shot downwards (there was no breeze, let alone a gale that could have redirected a properly firing flame), in which case it's a wonder why the cloth/screening they use didn't go up as well.. taken last night..
  9. Unfortunately not, had my 3yr old with me so it's was only Dreamworks area for me tonight! I have to say I can't help but think DW is missing out on some revenue. By 7:30 all food outlets were closed except for those in the exit building, all retail outlets closed as well. Not even the churro shop was open (which generally is at its busiest as people leave)
  10. I don't think he was referring to a train in maintenance. He meant if the park became abnormally busier than expected and they wanted to cycle in the second train.
  11. Just watched beatbox. It's a decent production imo, a step in the right direction for an after hours summer show. We all know the DJ is an actor, I just think he doesn't know that. He plays it up just a bit too much. Clearly has been dreaming of turntables since birth and is living out his dream in full force
  12. But once again there is no linkage between the a purchase of Legendary pictures and a theme park. Just because they are building a theme park and 'may' own a share in a film production house that happens to have produced Jurassic World, doesn't mean they are building a Jurassic Park theme park.
  13. Are you guys missing something or am I? there is no correlation between a potential buy-in to Legendary Pictures and the Australian theme park proposal. They could have used the name of any of Legendarys hundreds of movies, but just chose JW as it is its most successful and recent. There isn't a single word or phrase other than the provocative choice of title wording that mentions they will look to link the theme park to a movie property owned by a movie-house that they MAY become part owners of (and the unrelated picture from Universal of the JP ride)
  14. Great deal imo. Didn't know that Billabong was open for dinner with the extended hours.
  15. Remove the laser tag and put in a 4D submarine ride? Theme the old blue lagoon to a volcano destroyed water park? is it 'Stupid Idea' day today?
  16. Cue DA objections from VRTP & Ardent. An extra million visitors? In what time frame? It isn't going to bring an extra million people a year to the GC, not unless it's literally in the top few theme parks in the world.
  17. It's 2 1/2 years until the CG's. I hope we see something long before that....
  18. After a couple years of 'refurbs' and some much needed improvement right across the park, I think DW needs to 'go big' and get a big crowd pulling attraction in. Where it would fit and what's plausible I'm not so sure, but I feel they are slipping behind with less flexible payment options (I know VRTPs monthly payment options are gaining them clientele) and some big things planned at MW for 2016/17.
  19. That certainly had been mentioned... And is also the catalyst for the new studio currently being built ..
  20. Agree with all you said AlexB re:Maccas table service, if you order for the create your taste menu from the touchscreens, you take a number and they bring your food out to you on 'fancy' wooden board and fries in a basket.
  21. Try it yourself. One bad review doesn't make or break a restaurant. and Push - if the meat was undercooked, why eat it?? Take it back once you be bitten into it. You also couldn't say with certainty that the food have you food poisoning.
  22. The coaster application came through earlier than the others. The hotel is not a short term prospect (12-24 months) imo. I have no doubt we'll see the coaster debut this time next year. We may also have the beginning of the cabins in fruition. I'd say the new 'princinct' will be timed for completion by 2018 to capitalise on the Commonwealth Games
  23. Find it interesting then, as a DJ yourself, that you'd publicly call out another DJ for 'grabbing the cash for little work', or question if he is even DJing or just pretending.
