  1. "The ride is broken down for now - please enjoy other attractions in the park and check the app for when it opens"
  2. Well I've addressed this before - opening the queue before the ride has been handed over is stupid.
  3. That isn't true... wasn't true with any coaster that I know of that has opened recently. People have zero expectations - the fact they got to ride it before is a huge + but you didn't get out of bed thinking you were getting on a new coaster on that day. Do you know this is 100% true... or Village just set a date and just told them to deal with it.. which as been suggested elsewhere in this thread
  4. It doesn't matter if they read it or not - they're not coming to the park expecting to be on the ride. In reality people driving to the actual park will pass billboards advertising its open - all the way up the pacific highway.
  5. No the A-Frames are before the opening. They've very much made it known that it's open.. even interstate. There's no excuse for the entire area to be down 3 days after the big media spend of the grand opening.
  6. Also probably not the best thread to talk about this - but the prices are insane. Disneyland for a one day ticket starts from $152 per day.. their skip lines are at most $32 AUD.. and they're open for 16 hours. Sea World over here running at $129 AUD and $30 skip line passes.. and open for 7 hours. Heaps of things. Trains sitting in the station for different times, different shaped guests in the restraints every cycle, different loads for every cycle across the train. Train's having different total weights. So many things.
  7. 1000 cycles with water bodies.. not warm blooded riders.
  8. You can have different levels of commissioning.. one where the ride can complete a circuit.. and one where the ride can work reliably.. enough to a point that you can shout it to the rooftops that you have a new ride open.
  9. I mean I'm using previous experience to not travel interstate within a coasters first operating week, but there's video billboards everywhere in Sydney right now advertising that it's open.. when it isn't. Airfares are $500 return to the gold coast/Brisbane right now.. if I travelled up for the day as a GP I'd be very pissed. It's ok to say they could have done a better job with this. Like why even open the queue if it hasn't been handed over yet? That's theme park 101 stuff there.
  10. I’m sorry but that’s entirely incorrect. A soft open is to test the ride with the stresses that comes with the general public. Universal and Disney do it because it’s a really good idea. Guests have no expectation of the ride or ride elements working and they’re free to close it any anytime. Sea World operated it for a few days for staff and a few invited guests (media reporting on the opening day weren’t given a ride before reporting on the opening) Doing the official opening on a Friday was a bit dumb
  11. They struggle to keep up with the train even when they're running one train ops.
  12. Yeah which is why I don't think wind was an issue.. 70% trains sounds like a train/restraint issue. A full train (of warm bodies or water bodies) is way more likely to make it around the track.
  13. This. I've seen massive B&M 4 wide trains load quicker with no grouper. People are smart enough to work it out. Just restrict the numbers of people that get let in the area. Someone could probably think of a way to automate that. Movie World in the Gold Coast skip queue is officially more expensive that Disney Parks new Lightning lane .. even with the shitty AUD>USD conversion - and their peak pricing for thanksgiving. That'l do me
  14. That video would have been so much better if they produced it rather than do it live.. even if you play it out as live if thats their bag.
  15. From somewhere on the internet - “I went on it backwards 4 times during the cast preview A backwards wooden roller coaster is an amazing experience, that double down near the start is so intense and you get absolutely thrown around because you have no idea where you are going 11 out of 10 perfect addition to a woodie”
  16. Reckon they could have put the ladder in a better place ?
