Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
Alongside the concept art, a video was released with some construction footage & a rough 3D model of the site, as well as confirming the coaster’s names as ‘Kansas Twister’ and ‘Flight of the Wicked Witch’ from the trademarks. Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
Just a second faster, lol. Pico Play is tagged in these posts, confirming their simultaneous involvement in both this and Rivertown. Kinda interesting how both DW & MW have ended up with new themed areas based on 1 family-thrill Vekoma that’s the same colour scheme as their last major thrill coaster (of which, both were Mack, both with gimmick seats) & 1 smaller-scale supporting ride, with Pico Play collaborating in design & manufacturing of thematic elements, both set to open around the same time during holidays this year.

Jamberoo investigates harassment of female staff at Islamic men-only day
Maybe, just maybe, a men-only event isn’t a great idea? Seems pretty obvious to me that that’d lead to a big increase in workplace harassment. Free counselling is step one, but the workers affected should at least get a hefty settlement from Jamberoo &/or ASWJ, and know that the event will by no means be held again, as well as stricter rules against similar behaviour in general (banned from the park should be the minimum). Oh, especially so when the organisation running it openly spouts [word I hesitate to say here] rhetoric like this. That isn’t even a ‘warning sign’, that’s a bright red warning barrier made of solid concrete.

That doesn’t say it’s not coming back, only that the trains reached their end of life, and they’re uncertain about what to do with it. That much has been known pretty much since it closed, or at least definitely since they scrapped all but one train & left it to rust. Have I been misinterpreting, or when people say ‘coming back’, do they mean ‘refurbished w/ new trains’?- ‘It was great newspaper fodder’: Village Roadshow CEO on family bust-up - Financial Review
“We’re millionaires who got lucky once, but we also are really smart and make great decisions, except for when we don’t ’cause we have flaws as we’re human just like you. [River Rapids mention]. New company bought most of us, but we’re friends & it’s okay (apart from our cinemas, those suck lol. Also, if we don’t make money in the next 3-5 years, we’re kinda screwed. But that’s fiiiiiiiiine, cause we’re friends!). Anyway, $50m Ghost of New Atlantis Past, $100m Ghost of WoO Present, $??? Ghost of Hotels Future. Also, I have children, as a byproduct of being human, just like you.” Snippet about hotels:- ‘It was great newspaper fodder’: Village Roadshow CEO on family bust-up - Financial Review
The fact it says ‘rooms and surrounds’ doesn’t seem to me like they’ll be connected accomodation, as well as there not really being much need/space for another VRTP example of that post-MW’s hotel. Maybe, instead, there’s a plan for something similar to a Paradise Resort, various Disney hotels, things like that, in which it’s a family-oriented hotel/resort, centred around an IP that VRTP has the rights to (Nickelodeon, DC, etc), that’s got enough self-contained activities for park visits to not be a necessity (but, ofc, offering shuttles to & fro). They have experience with similar, though less self-contained, locations with Sea World Resort. Though, granted, they didn’t construct it, experience with it’s operations could mean they have ideas as to how it could be improved if they were to construct one themselves. As to if anything comes from it, we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m guessing that’s moreso what’s being eluded towards.- Sea World Monorail removed from website and park map

The only real place an Atlantis station could go is adjacent to that concrete slab they poured recently, but that’s apparently just going to be for a BoH warehouse (though I choose to not believe that til it’s built, ‘cause that’s a colossal waste of space if so, especially for a landlocked park). In general, though, the consensus with the monorail seems not to be that it’s never coming back, nor that it’s very likely to, moreso just that nobody knows (including the park themselves) what to do with it. But, the longer they let it rust, and the more BoH stuff they put underneath it (aforementioned slab near Levi), the less likely it seems that there’ll be a replacement.- Dreamworld Maintenance Schedule 2024

Altogether, ST was $32 mil. They wouldn’t exclude the money they repurposed from the government grant in that quoted cost. Seeing as there’s no exact direct comparison, I only doubled that number to overestimate the likely margin at which coaster price has increased above that of general inflation, and I must say that it seems well within the realm of plausibility after converting it to USD solely for comparison’s sake (the doubled number is ~$17-18mil USD in 2024) & comparing older examples of Vekomas & Arrows (Corkscrew @ Alton Towers was £1.25mil GBP in 1980/~$9-10mil USD in 2024, Loch Ness Monster @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg was $5mil USD in 1978/~$23-25mil USD in 2024) to similar current Vekoma models (Lech Coaster @ Legendia was €12mil EUR in 2017/~$16mil USD in 2024, Fønix @ Fårup Sommerland was 100mil DKK/~$15mil USD in 2022), and both to it. And, to be clear, the only fudging/‘pulling out my bum’ of those numbers was rounding them to the nearest mil USD, again solely for easier comparison. As such, they’re by no means completely accurate, hence the use of ranges & ‘~’, to make it abundantly clear that the altered numbers are merely estimations instead of facts, as that doesn’t seem to have gotten through the first time around. Point being, them saying it’s their largest investment in a singular attraction yet does mean something, not necessarily a game-changing amount but it’s a factual & easy way to portray that there’s effort going into making the attraction the best it can be. At the end of the day, it is marketing though, so it’s purpose is undeniably still to flaunt it’s good sides, but it’s not doing it in an objectively untruthful or manipulative way like you seem to believe, and like certain other projects have done recently.- Jungle Rush Coaster

So, just before WWF/Doomsday’s path, with the It Maze building façade in the background? If so, that’s an interesting location if Superman were to indeed be the main entrance & not the assumed ‘secondary’ one near Scooby. Still, billboard could be better. At least painting the frame in a less bright/clashy colour.- Jungle Rush Coaster
