  1. I mean, yeah, but I’d hope that’s more a fault of the transitional period Tiger Island is in. It’s like going to a play to watch the dormant stage & a couple cleaning crew sweep the floors. The other enclosures are being sufficiently updated to the point that they're good standalone enclosures again, but the main moated viewing is still very clearly designed for the purpose it used to hold. Disregarding the obviously misleading timeline that they're pushing here, I wonder which Parkz member from this thread they’ve chosen to be an ‘industry professional’.
  2. True, but I feel the implementation would be similar to what people were hoping of TT2, aka the one they've used on Red Force, where the LSMs extend just as much as needed to reach a desired speed & provide the roll back, rather than keeping a consistent speed through fully vertical LSMS. The issue with doing either would be that it would at least necessitate a train redesign on a model that Intamin no longer wishes to sell or update, as well as possibly significant changes to the track itself so it can orient LSMs correctly. There's also the possible roadblock of, whenever the time comes that a change is forced or decided upon, it could be the case that the structure itself has weakened enough (as recently seen in a positive light with Nemesis at Alton, or a negative light w/ SW's Monorail) for an update to not be viable without first demolishing a large part of what stood, & at that point it feels like Six Flags'd rather market something new.
  3. Went to the park yesterday, didn’t take many photos of any construction/maintenance but was wondering if any of y’all knew what these muted red metal (track?) pieces in Motocoaster’s envelope could be for, before I start to jump to any of my own conclusions.
  4. It gets to a point where if you can't see the bright pink 200ft tall structure or these signs leading to it, adding a third becomes pointless...
  5. Not to be a stickler, but it's "multi-record breaking launch coaster.". Very similar, different meanings. And yeah, as pointed out above, Zumanjaro's permanent closure alongside Kingda Ka & other surrounding attractions makes it seem much more like it's being knocked down and replaced with something "completely new" (words they've since used in clarifications after the main press release) moreso than being a TT2 situation. I just really hope that it doesn't end up being this:
  6. I'm sorry you don't like my off-hand joke towards a private equity firm & their well-discussed decisions. Anyway, Most of the plants put in so far seem to be ground layer, so significant growth pre-install wouldn't really be too necessary (iirc, they did the same for the small amount of greenery nearby Steel Taipan, and Sea World's recently done the same for their pathway). If/when larger plants come in, I have hope that they'll be planted with enough growth to not be literal saplings upon Rivertown's open.
  7. Nah, they’re still illegal in QLD (and likely all reserved for VRTP execs anyway).
  8. Its not bad, but them saying the project was to ‘enhance your in-park experience’ ‘to the next level’ in comparison to an annual pass, rather than the obvious jump onto the NFT bandwagon for a quick cash grab, when Dreamworld already offers that exact benefit (but better, ‘cause unlimited & including merchandise) with their annual pass, is telling. Maybe they’ll add the benefit to their One Pass when they up the price, so Village Key becomes useless and the annual offerings are comparable again, but I think we all know that’s not what’s on their mind.
  9. Maybe they’re increasing the price of renewals on the 11th of Nov, and the price of new passes on the 10th of Dec (just before the holidays)? Either way, making the process significantly more confusing than it needs to be, to the surprise of nobody.
  10. Would be interesting to see whether this is the full expected cycle (running the smaller, mostly indoor section backwards & the latter outdoor portion the right way around), as, if so, that should give them ample time to get the turntable sorted out (touchwood), which I imagine is the main concern with the ride due to it being an as-of-yet unproven system.
  11. Again, manipulation. Makes it harder for guests to see exactly how much each arcade game costs them, and makes the number of ‘game tokens’ significantly higher.
  12. The different pricing options seem purposefully made to confuse buyers, which is great for making money at an Arcade, but not for a whole lot else. Like: Why does a $70 'Bugs Bundle' get you 240 tokens, but a $50 'Tweety Treat' get you 336? Why is the only 'Bugs Bundle' that doesn't give more than a 1:4 ratio for dollars:tokens the $200 dollar one? In the 'Tassie Tornado' option, what are 'Yellow & Green Card Reader Games', and what aren't? What is the 'Road Runner Rush' option for, especially when the $12 only has a 1:3 ratio, meaning you'd get 3 arcade games at $4 a piece? I don't know how much of this is commonplace for Arcades and how much is specifically VRTP pricing, but having all these manipulative ways of misleading those who aren't paying enough attention (like, maybe the kids who will be the main audience at a pokies arcade) out of as much money as possible, is the exact reason I steer clear of them in general.
  13. they’ve just gotta use a more suitable burger, i reckon
  14. If it's any consolation, assuming that the ride was initially going to be 52m & it's not just an error in the initial reporting, it probably would have ended up being a Zamperla.
  15. Trident isn't, it's an SBF (https://sbfrides.com/products/swing-tower-42-m/). The shorter 'Sky Flyer' that Sea World had before Trident was a Funlight.
  16. Good thing is that it means literally nothing whether it’s true or it’s not, so there’s no point in discussing further either way. They likely only made the first post to mislead those less in-the-know into thinking it would be an event related to Rivertown, not a one night club that’s already significantly less newsworthy than the Diwali event the next day.
  17. Apparently it’s whatever the hell this is… I’d link the video itself, but it has nothing to do with Dreamworld and is just some random dj/club scenes. I feel like they’re making something up, but if it is indeed something, it’s a third-party adults event.
  18. So long as Greg Yong has a pilot’s license
  19. There’s no way that is the Rivertown opening date, that’s under a month away & they’ve only just moved JR’s train into the station, with the building & surrounding area still very much incomplete. My guess is that it’s some one-off event like their wrestling matches or the Casey Barnes thing they just had. Which is to say, nothing all that special.
