  1. I see your point. Though most people are never going to see in SE maintenance bay there’s other areas ON the ride courses you can see unused crap. And that’s just a bit annoying
  2. Dingo racer is a hefty investment for a little family owned park. It puts Aussie world on the coaster map of Australia and is a fun ride that’s perfect for that park. Yes it’s not overly exciting in terms of roller coasters but the fact a little park like Aussie world put in the effort to get a proper coaster at all is awesome. good on them. scooby doo is super fun I love the swinging axes and tilting elevator and backwards drop. The turns are fun and the drops after the hairpin turns are good when your at the front otherwise they just hurt. But I can see enthusiasts from other countries having the wooden wild mouse as more of a reason to come as it’s super rare and it’s hairpins are better then scooby. Like @Dean Barnettsaid I feel like scooby and wild mouse are 2 different categories but scooby is the only indoor coaster in operation in Australia. We had that one at expo 88 and scooby definitely beats that one in terms of layout (never got to do the one at expo so maybe it was better??) I feel like wild mouse vs scenic railway is more fair? But idk. it does makes sense to do all the wild mice vs each other.
  3. I am actually so surprised. I knew SE had a few die hard fans but I thought ST would win be a mile. Very interesting watching the bars go up and down
  4. Gotta give it to LPWM it’s a very rare and iconic ride and looks great on Sydney harbour. Plus scooby doo as we know it is gone. I have not idea what they are going to do to it.
  5. Not sure where I should post this but a completely useless few facts I learned today: of all the custom arrow loopers, gold coaster is listed as the only one in history to have been relocated according to RCDB. Gold coaster is also the tallest (in height not drop) “classic” arrow looping coaster in operation. Ofc viper and Tennessee Tornado are taller but viper is classified a mega looper and TT is very different from the “classic” Arrow custom loopers. So GC is pretty unique.
  6. That’s fair. Personally as much as I do love the theming on SE I am more into a fun coaster then theming. That’s the reason why I personally don’t think Disney would be that fun since almost all their coaster’s layout’s suck despite the amazing theming on most of them (except incredicoaster a steal coaster made to look wood themed to the incredibles?? Umm). There’s also probably a bit of bias for DW since I have lots of memories with that park. But at the end of the day they are 2 amazing rides and are both worthy of 2nd to rivals. I got a sunset ride on SE one time at the end of the day, we barely made it in to the queue before the queue was closed (it was still an hour plus wait however) and when we launched it started raining, it was so fun.
  7. Yeah I thought I remembered you pointing that out before. Has it moved at all?
  8. Yep exactly it makes perfect sense and will really put some new energy into Main Street. I was thinking for sky voyager they could theme it to like some crazy machine this dude built and to hide it he built a old looking facade on it. And you could really make it look like a cut-out facade plate that’s hiding the sky voyager and when you walk into it you can really tell it’s just a fake facade hiding the futuristic looking thing behind it. it’s kinda hard to explain but it would mean they could give it a classic look from the outside but make it still make sense with the theme of the ride.? Idk just another way to make it look better.
  9. Rivals just casually trumping every coaster in Australia
  10. All I can think of would be a lego land but idk if they would be aloud to do a lego area inside another theme park. Everything else good is basically taken. They had Mattel but i doubt they would wanna get back with them.
  11. Superman is getting pretty major refurb work. All the tires/wheel assembly’s that move the train around the subway area have been removed
  12. Might not be but some suspicious object has been spotting in the superman maintenance bay. Looks a hell lot like one of the Surfrider seat assembly’s??
  13. Good to know. I haven’t been to the night market yet because it’s a long drive home for me. I just noticed the post so I didn’t realise it’s been promoted. I think night markets is cool! I do hope this year there’s 1 or 2 nights they don’t have the market and run the rides though but what ever works. Also I saw this photo: credit @jaggs journeys. Nothing beats a arrow lift at night..
  14. Not sure exactly what this is supposed to be but more activity in the park is always nice. But it seems like it’s only for DW night markets? And free entry? Not sure how this is profitable. But it will create a good atmosphere which is always great. Seems a bit last minute as it literally starts tomorrow. Thoughts?
  15. it’s probably never been painted since the ride was built and must be where the maintenance team happen to step the most? Idk. At least they got to experience the 2nd best part of SE the dark ride bit. I wonder if they turned on all the effects for them or not. I wonder what maintenance they are doing too because isn’t the train just sitting in the station or is that the maintenance bay?
  16. At least Coaster studios got some “money can’t buy” look behind the Scenes on all the closed coasters. Better then nothing? It is too bad they didn’t get to ride superman escape though. I just hope ST spinning seat is at least working
  17. Forgot about farm stay. Your right that’s just as close. Yeah idk I think it will be a long time till we see the hotel village. I don’t think it’s been through town planning yet has it?
  18. They have a few days on the Gold Coast if they really want to ride WWF they can always come back. Trident and vortex didn’t open all day either. Leviathan opened with the park though which is good to see
  19. Sick. Can’t wait for the Vlogs and reviews. I also hope the park can get WWFR operating
  20. I think sit down restaurants work great in free to enter parks with pay per ride. That way anyone can come and go get some more expensive better food while some others in their group go on rides. Pay to enter parks don’t work as well with sit down restaurants
  21. Coaster studios have arrived at the Gold Coast. And have been greeted by the WORLDS MOST ICONIC WOODEN COASTER.
  22. Yeah very interesting two pretty hard to compare coasters. I think this one all comes down to what you want out of a roller coaster. What should the next one be? Gold coaster vs green lantern? Or maybe scooby vs Storm. What can compete with leviathan? I feel like Levi is almost in a class of its own.
  23. Oh ok cool. It looked really good in the 90s ha. It’s actually probably the closest accommodation to DW or any of the parks except seaworld ofc. Can anyone see the corkscrew element? I am absolutely sure it’s there, I just can’t find it. It’s probably deconstructed and I don’t even know where it was sitting. It would be probably be super hard to spot from a grainy above view.
