  1. I'm sorry, what audio do you hear in the queue AND station of AA? Joker and Harley. Very easy to call it a Joker ride, considering this and the above comments. Enough of the 'riding Wonder Woman' crap. Are you all 14 year olds?
  2. Could be helped by having 2 rows of carparks closest to the P&G "1 hour only" zones.
  3. @pushbutton - Canadian pancakes? Awesome! Shame you've never heard of them, they're delicious. Bacon/Maple Syrup/Pancake... When I heard about this patisserie & grill, I was expecting steaks/ribs/etc as well. Menu looks great though, that hot dog looks tempting...
  4. Apart from a slice of selfishness? Mainly because Flash has some, and it's something Mack advertise on their website as a feature in their Hypers. Zero G roll late in Flash, Inline Roll in The Storm. I've been casually watching other Mack on-ride videos, and noticed that The Storm has a similar element as our Hyper. Hopefully this can give us a feel for how our ride may feel though this area. This gif is almost the same as the part between the s-bend out of the turnaround, through to the helix:
  5. The general public are going to call the non-inverting loop a "loop". They'll see it as a loop with an extra feature. I still hope for for a roll after the helix and before the bunny hills.
  6. Pics from late morning: Still waiting for that middle support piece. Despite appearances, there isn't an alignment issue with the airtime support. Not sure where that support on the right went later in the arvo. From Green Lantern queue. Note line-of-sight across swamp to the dive into the n-i loop. Arvo pics: Maybe that pole from the morning pics is the side pole on the big support here? Showing the progress of the track coming out of the helix. Best I could do of the new supports. If the main support pole is taking the weight, we're sure these supports are for the airtime hill leading into the non-inverting loop? Looks like a rocky area at the bottom of the non-inverting loop?
  7. Funny you should mention that... Today: both back up, and both lit up around the base of the top. Click fullsize to see.
  8. 3:35pm for mine. Posted as I was standing at the fence. Will upload my DSLR pics later tonight.
  9. The pole is temporarily connected to a pole from the helix. Lots more thick poles (already connected together) on the ground both inside the fence and on the road. If they're not working tomorrow then Monday will be "non-inverting loop support day". The helix exit looks like a smaller version of the twisty airtime leading into the helix. So it exits the helix by making a right handed dive turn.
  10. Not so keen on a parade st Dreamworld, but a show could work. Theme it to something like Australiana, with songs and comedy. As for staffing, I guess you could use animatronics. Call it something something Jamboree something...
  11. As said by others over the last few days, it's supports week. Mainly for the non-inverting loop, but some for the dive into the loop as well. The support that's outside the fence is now in (just the first segment). I would not be surprised if the supports for the lift hill went in very soon. It looks like they're waiting on more track pieces, the pieces that have been sitting in the compound a few weeks are still there, and only one container is on site. There's no shortage of supports though. @jack.cit's hard to get good pics of that area, as it will be for the rest of the coaster's run back to the station after the helix. Got a couple. I expect today's will be the non-inverting loop supports going vertical.
  12. ...hopefully all that chewing gum is removed from the underpass and surrounds at the start of the ride. Never understood why people vandalise/gum up/tag at Theme Parks. If I ever catch them..
  13. Can you provide a link for this? All I've seen is that they visited the USA. They could have visited ride manufacturers, entertainment precincts, fast food chains, zoos, or anything else related to the business...
  14. Deborah Thomas was on ABC Brisbane this morning. Nothing much new. If you want to listen, it's from 39mins 20secs, and clarifies a few things, but she's in dealing-with-the-media mode here.
  15. I don't even understand what I wrote! I meant that Claw swings, DD is controlled at all times. @Gazza worded it perfectly. I guess was expecting a more natural swinging feel, despite the off-ride videos I'd seen. I did enjoy it, despite riding it in the middle carriages. Is it better at the front/back with nobody to look at?
  16. Had my first ride of DD on Monday. The rider sorting into coloured groups was a well thought out idea, with everyone knowing what was going on. We were strapped in and waiting for about two minutes before the restraints loosened. The rideops announced that they had to reset the restraints, but left the buckles done up. Ride started fine after that. The ride certainly felt very controlled, I guess I was expecting a not natural swing feel like Claw. The slow parts while inverted were fun, although it led the poor young lady across from me to have a wardrobe malfunction (I was a gentleman).
  17. I've never greyed out on a ride. Some make me queasy, such as Claw, Pandamonium (hard), but I'm right a few minutes later. Ryande16, I certainly want to sit in the front seat of this hyper for a half dozen rides in a row, but my stomach wouldn't. I've re-ridden a few times, and loved it (Incredible Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril), but needed a half hour before I rode the next ride. I've never ridden a hyper, and am looking forward to the negative and lateral G's it'll bring. I've only been sick from a ride once - as a 10 year old from the Zipper. That was after having a dagwood dog right before! For me part of the fun is going on a ride that'll give you thrills while on it, and have to recover after riding it. @Gazza for me, no issues with twistyness on coasters such as Jet Rescue.
  18. That's okay with me. This ride is certainly going to make me a tad queasy too. It will likely take some time before I ride this back-to-back. This said, I can't wait until I've conditioned myself for multiple re-rides. Perhaps I'll never get used to it, and only be able to ride it twice a day. I'm okay with that too.
  19. We can't look at everything in the park that's new or close to the track colour, there's too much coincidence. I saw on Monday: - Supergirl cape; - Tweety; -DC Bombshells; - Yes, Wonder Woman; even - Jimmy Hendrix. Its pointless looking in the park at the moment.
  20. ...guess we're not counting the (lack of) on-ride audio for Green Lantern. Didn't have any on Monday.
  21. A good summation of where we're at. When you start to describe the ride's elements in order, it does add to the anticipation.. Still hopeful that the distance from the helix to the left climb turn at GL will allow a rolling inversion, as Flash's Zero-G is quite late. Might go back and look at the aerial pics again.
  22. I recommend riding Batwing over the next few months. Today I rode in the seat closest to ride entry, and at the top of the tower the view of the Hyper is great. The brake run and one piece of the turn back to the station is in, but the footprint of the station is clear, despite no foundation yet laid. There's a channel dug which I assume to be the underside access in the train service bay. The track from the brake run into the station/switch has no spline at all by the looks of it. Thanks for the new pics @themagician, I'm really curious as to how these supports will work in this possible non-inverting loop.
  23. Me too MickeyD, because I'm very worried a DC re-theme will take its' place, considering it is alongside the DC Villains area. Not worried that it wouldn't be a great themed ride, but worried that it's another step in the eventual renaming of this park Village DC World.
