I almost threw up watching that woody on the off camber banked corners! Fun otherwise, especially the area before the lift hill.

All VRTPs have been given the all-clear after safety audit. Strange that VRTP have chosen this point in time to make a press release. Maybe relevant to Maxx's post right above this?

And for those playing the drinking game, I say: A new Nearmap image would really help us figure out the layout, as most/all(?) footers are now in? -
Eureka Mountain Mine Ride reopening discussion
Whombex replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I see no reason for it to stay there, even if they build a brand new Gold Rush, the Eureka mountain sits over TRRR, they'll likely both come down, with Skylift station as well. It'll cost less for the contractor to pull it all out in one job. I'll miss the ride, it was awesome. Loved the run out of the mountain and implying you'd go flying into TRRR's lake, loved the dips and cutbacks. I just can't see it staying SBNO if there's major demolition in that themed area. -
...there's always a garden bed you could stand on? Just don't sue them!

Revised Dreamworld Map - no Rocky Hollow Log Ride
Whombex replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If Rocky Hollow joins Gold Rush and Blue Lagoon, I can't see either a rapids or flume ride coming in a very long time. However, why not a dark water ride after a good coaster first? SW*/MW don't have dark water rides any more... (* I'm not counting the splashdown/station on Storm Coaster.) -

I fully support a new Eureka ride, but my selfishness wants that to be a RMC, not a mine cart/mine train ride. -
This is something everyone should keep in mind. Maybe they were specifically referring to the area of VR only for that press release.

Dreamworld reopening - the summer season
Whombex replied to wipeout94's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Remember everyone, you can click the link below and add whichever Tom, Dick or Harry you want to it: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/ignore/ As it stands, there are no active members with the names Dick and Harry. Back on topic, thanks for the report @axltk421. I know the staff have all had training on responding to a wide range of guests comments and interaction, but it's good to hear they're so enthused and professional. -
(Cooler) cloudy day, only the first day of official Qld Holidays, major traffic problems on the M1, & not many people aware it's even reopened... I will dig happily dig this thread back up after Easter 2017 for you, Tommo.

I believe this ride was always going to be replaced for a 2019 new attraction, but with a combination of TRR incident and possible wear and tear, it's being closed now. I reckon capex was already to be set aside for 2018 construction prior to ride closure.

That's actually pretty decent. Good to see plenty of funds are likely to be raised this weekend. -

Sounds good. Bombshell DC that's not burlesque would work fine. Might be even easier costumes for the actors, too. No, but they'll come if they're needed. You're doing a fine enough job as it is digging a hole for yourself. There are women in the Justice League, and in the current batch of DC movies. WW theme on this coaster would make common sense, as the character is in many DC movies to come out over the next five years (BvS: Dawn of Justice; Wonder Woman; next Superman/Batman movies probably, the two Justice League movies coming...) -
Really? Your loss then. I've been thinking of making a park that's Dreamworld, but only the entry/fountain/train station/Rocky Hollow/Blue Lagoon/Gold Rush, in order for us to make out own Gold Rush/Blue Lagoon replacement. But making that would take me a few days with the ability I have to play PC. Want to make that for us, Bladex?

Good luck trying. Amazonian wrath isn't to be taken lightly. Going by many hints, we are looking at a Flash coaster. I wonder if this will lead to comparisons against the one already built by Mack at Lewa. -

I agree with Brad. There's going to be no merchandise with TRR on it, the only exception would be reference/history books of DW's past. The stock removed would only cost in the tens of thousands at most, a fraction of losses since park closure. TBH, a lot of it was cheap foreign made stuff anyway, such as rulers, key rings, stickers, & knickknacks. TRR hasn't been a lead attraction to have featured on any recent clothing, from memory? -

I HATE THOSE MELBOURNE PLAYERS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tj7nHrsZz78 -
@TomiJ - I quite liked Uthris' Alpha 3 Renaissance Fair, Silvarret's Grizzly Valley (Alpha 1 he was doing stuff very few could match), and E.A.G.L's Western Park in Beta was quite good. If anyone's struggling with how to build coasters and stay true to the style of the manufacturer, Silvarret has started a series called Coaster College. So far he's done Woodies and Hybrid Woodies. Others are starting to upload their tutorial videos too. Silvarret, Keralis and De-Lady-Signer have started a collaboration, a Polynesian themed park. They share the save file and release a video of their progress one player, one week at a time. AdfoTV, Rudi Rennkamel, Freethebear and Pharohs started a group before them, and have called it Team Schematics. They've released only 2 videos so far.

My fantasy ride is a Tron clone. Trying to make it in Planet Coaster, but I'm hoping one of these frequent updates coming over the next few months adds the Tron/Motocoaster style coaster. But to get back on topic, and Future in Australia, any new word on Wonderland 2.0?

For future attractions in Australia, I still see no volume anywhere to warrant a Disney park. I reckon Sydney can support a Theme Park, especially if it is built somewhere near Badgerys Creek. Sunshine Coast could see one somewhere between the Maroochy River and Coolum, but only once the Sunshine Coast airport has its' new runway and Terminal built to better cater for international visitors.
