What Roller Coaster Are You?!
Die! I got TTD also. I found out that if you checked all the boxes there, you will end up getting TTD. Seems like it's also a "wooden experience!" Liam

Dragon's Flight Rehab
Well, I'd hate to see it go. To my eye, there's no reason to why it should be removed. It's still quite a popular ride (not as much as Space Probe or Demon, but you still get people lining up for it), and is one of the "better" attractions at Wonderland. Unless I'm not seeing anything behind the scenes (it could be suffering major problems, who knows?), it seems like a reliable ride. I personally think it's going through an extensive rehab. Liam

Stupid Residents
Was this already known? I'd suggest you give all the information you have about the deliberate fire to the police - or would it be too old of a story to investigate even further? Welcome to Total Thrills Liam

Dragon's Flight Rehab
The area has been blocked off now (guess they didn't want me to take any more pictures! ) by a fence. However, I managed to take a picture between some trees to get a view of the rehab. It appears now that the motor is slowly being pulled apart. Liam

Why where the cable cars/sky chairs shut down at wonderland?
The Skyrider was closed because of Little Wonder's Land (HBL) closure. I still don't believe that "79% of out guests complained that the park was too big so we closed off LWL" explanation though. Liam

Just thought I'd like to add a piece of information here that was stated on another forum. Liam

Dragon's Flight Rehab
Tasmanian Devil was located in Goldrush, next to HMS Endeavour. The cars would swing freely as the ride spun at a high speed. I believe it's almost identical to Angry Beavers Spooty Spin at Dreamworld. It's hard to explain how the ride works, so I'll let an old picture of mine do the explaining. Here's a page with a few photographs and a decription of a similar ride to Tasmanian Devil. Liam

Dragon's Flight Rehab
Snowy River Rampage was probally closed because of a pipe malfunction. I've heard the ride manages to get six breakdowns a day! As for the Dragon's Flight being closed on both your visits, I can't remember any time in November or in January (early Jan) that it was closed. It might've been a one-off thing, or you may have caught the ride just after a breakdown. No other rides were closed except for the expected closure, Tasmanian Devil. Liam

Dragon's Flight Rehab
Hi guys, My trip on Sunday was an interesting one. Dragon's Flight (chairswings) were listed on the "rides closed today" sign, so I had to check out what was going on. The ride's been dismantled. Everything has been placed next to the ride's motor - the only remaining part of the ride. This is probally just annual maintenance, but I don't see why Wonderland had to rush into things and do it during summer. Here's a few pictures.. Liam

Is it just me or is TOT getting very slow?
I believe the ride is built on a mountain (Samurai Summit), which gives the tower it's extra height above sea level. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Wonderland Music
That "gay song" is the parks main theme song by a group named "911" or something like that. The song is called "Wonderland" - and I agree it is a iffy. Maybe it's because I've heard the song more than I've heard my computer's play list! The only techno song I can think of that is played at Wonderland is called "Jack It Up" (I think). All of Wonderland's songs are equally disturbing! Liam

Australia's day at wonderland
I would've went, but unfortunately (actually, fortunately!) I was at my holiday house having the time of my life water skiing I believe Jaggie went, but I haven't heard from him since the 25th!

Stupid Residents
Yeah, I'm actually with the residents on this one. As Gazza said, you'd want to get value for your money. Having an eyesore infront of your multi-million apartment would decrease the value of the property dramatically. I'm actually against the construction of the new tower - unless the building is made smaller. Liam

Would a bungee jump/rocket/swing be a kool choice by Wonderland for the park?
For the Sling Shot, I could see it somewhere in Sydney, but certainly not Wonderland. I don't think people would be willing to pay an extra $30 to ride one of these things just after they payed $50 to get into the park. It's a low capacity ride (2 people every 3 or so minutes), and having the ride as an upcharge really wouldn't work well for Wonderland. I'd love to have it right next to Darling Harbour though! Liam

WS abusing Marvel contract
Extremely well said GoBoi. I've seen a lot of kids almost pee themselves when they see Spiderman, Electra etc. - and to be honest, the costumes aren't that great either (particularly the Hulk one). I think it is worth noting that Spiderman is advertised more than any other Marvel character. It seems that he is on the website more and appears more in the televesion ads. Not to mention the huge painting of the Spiderman head on the ceiling of the "echo area" in the main plaza (Super Hero Headquarters), or the "Spiderman wall" just to the right of the Transylvania sign. Could all this extra Spiderman advertising actually mean something for once? Liam

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
That looks like a really cool ride. So what you are saying is that one of the Intamin reps. talked to you about new ride installations in the coming year, and he/she mentioned that the gyro swing is coming to Dreamworld? Sounds interesting, thanks for the news! Flea

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
There's also an Intamin Gyro Swing at Drayton Manor called Maelstrom. The ride looks quite fun, but how do you know that it will be coming to Dreamworld, belgian? Here's some photos and a review on the Intamin Gyro Swing. Liam

Which ride best fits each age category?
I wouldn't remove any rides. I would re-track Bush Beast completely, remove the trim and give the trains a major rehab. I'd also do something about Bounty's Revenge, probally replace the restraints with something more comfortable, and add padding to those seats (or benches!). I'd say Space Probe would be the best for the adult/teenage category. It's smooth (adults don't like getting beat up, aka Bush Beast) and gives an excellent thrill. Liam

Andy's Gold Coast TR Part 2 (WBMW/Conrad Jupiters)
Good to see you finally rode Scooby Andy! That's a shame you lost your wallet, your Wonderpass was in there! I'd say you lost it during one of LW's inversions. Other than that, it sounded like you had a pretty flawless day. Scooby Scooby Kew, where are you? Liam

Andy's Gold Coast TR Part 1
GREAT TR so far Andy! I still reckon you should've went up by plane though.. then again, it's always handy to have the car! 12 hours in the car.. no way dude. Freak. Can't wait for part 2! Off-topic: Finally got a decent internet connection on the laptop up at my holiday house, took hours to figure out how though. The past few days have been full of water-skiing (I finally got up on one ski!!), but the common afternoon storms have interrupted a lot of the skiing sessions. Liam

Album is no more
I'm currently writing this from the computer in reception at the resort my cottage is located (www.raffertysresort.com.au), the internet speed is shocking, but it'll do. From what I can see on this screen (800x600 resolution, eww!), the new layout looks pretty nice! I can't wait to get back home to see how it looks on my new Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop Just to let you know guys, it's currently a comfortable 25 degrees at my holiday house - we'll be going water skiing later today.. jealous? Almost up on one ski, Liam

Theme park theming and ride discussion
That's if you rush around the park and don't enjoy your day. (seriously Shifty, why do you talk like that? Is it your computer's resolution?) I went back to my hotel at 5pm with slight disappointment that I didn't have enough time to re-ride all those cool rides I wanted to. To say that you can do the whole park in 4 hours is possible, but how the hell would you be able to enjoy your day at the park? I take it that you didn't bother to ride all the other awesome rides, or see the shows, because they are "crap" and don't go above 75km/h. Liam

Ride Concept Drawings.
I really like the Bathtub Splashdown ride concept. Very nice idea with having the boats as bathtubs (is that shower head I see there?). Maybe those shower heads could spray mist onto the children every now and then. That'd be more exciting than Fred Flinstones Splashdown! Liam

TURBO: TR, Photos and Video!
Hi guys, for those who don't know, the turbo is out near Fox Studios along with a few other rides to the 31st Jan. I took a trip out there with my brother to get a ride on this apparent god-like ride. Two friends of mine, Dave and Huss Rainbow (Chris) hyped me up about this ride, but I had my doubts if the ride was even there or not.. 4.00pm: My video camera and Canon Powershot A200 have been charged, ready for snapping. Ryan (my brother) was to come along with me. 5.15pm: We arrive at Fox Studios. Ryan and I decide to take a little walk through the place as I have never been there before. I think this place really does have the potential to be transformed into the next WB movie World. As soon as I walked into the place, I had a feeling as if I were really in WBMW, all that was missing was the street parades and rides. Fox Studios was unfortunately dead though, despite the large range of food and retail shops that not even West Fields shopping centres could match. After our stroll, we headed for the little pathetic excuse for a carnival, which was just across from Fox Studios. 5:30pm: We buy 25 tickets for $20, and headed straight for the main attraction, Turbo. We actually had to wait quite a while because the disgusting, rude and smelly carny's weren't paying any attention to who was queuing up for rides etc. That probally was because that only 4 people were on the site of the carnival (Ryan, myself and another couple). 5:35pm: I enter one of Turbo's tight little "hamburger" cages, and instantly notice how uncomfortable the cages are. You're sitting on a piece of plastic, with some padding around the sides of the cages (and believe me, you'll need those padding!). The ride finally started up, as my cage began to rise into the sky. For the first minute or so of the ride, the cage just rocked side to side while following the actions of the wheel. When the ride started to slow down, all I could think of was "was that it?!" as I faced the sky. But little did I know, I was only halfway through the cycle of the beastly machine. As the ride started to start up again, my cage tilted so that I was facing the ground, the wheel then rotated making me rush towards the ground face first. Immediately after this I was pounded with a flips upside down! I had no choice but to hold onto the grab bar as tight as possible. You do come out of your seat, and sometimes hit the the top of the cage with your head! At this moment I had no idea where I was, since I did grey out for a slight second. I was thrown around the cage like a rag doll while my cage furiously rotated. After a minute or so of this madness, the ride finally came to a complete stop. So is it worth riding? If it means driving 3 hours to get to sydney, do it. Because this is one hell of a ride! Although you do get beaten up more than Thunderbolt, this is hands down the best carnival type ride I have ever ridden. Go ride it! After this, my borther and I took a ride on the lame and slow dodgem cars, then took a few pics of all the other little rides. I noticed there was one of those lame looking ghost trains, and a couple we're boarding the ride. They went through the typical "terror doors", into darkness. I then heard a couple of laughs, and 10 seconds later, they came back out the other door. Best. Ghost train. Ever. LOL! I have edited a 1:47 video of the turbo, along to the song "Bring Me to Life". I actually don't like the song, it just goes well with the video! The video is 7mb. Please leave any comments you may have about the video. Also, here are some pictures I took today of the "carnival". Enjoy! Video of Turbo For those who want un-edited footage of the turbo, please PM me. Thanks for reading, Liam
