$100m indoor water park, Dingley, Melbourne.
Natti_amusements replied to Gazza's topic in Theme Park Discussion
After quite some time without any updates, the project seems to have suddenly been approved with work on the waterpark hoping to go ahead within the next year or so! Here’s one of several articles talking about the move: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/property/huge-water-park-with-surf-waves-water-slide-rides-approved-for-dingley-village-in-melbourne/news-story/22f20f81c8464044b501b6dd0d6299c0?amp&nk=8e48dfe1ab68633a4ec6a0ea482d3b9a-1717445528# -
Gumbuya World 10 Year Masterplan
Natti_amusements replied to Natti_amusements's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Makes sense, I had never seen these renderings so thought they may of been of some substance. Was bit confused why project zero tnt and were nowhere to be found lol. I do remember the talks of bringing some sort of on site accommodation to the park but haven’t heard anything recently. -
Just came across a post from PicoPlay talking about their work with Gumbuya World. They described being commissioned to create a 10 year masterplan for the park including talks of a resort. It included some loose concept art as seen below. I can’t exactly make out too much from the image but maybe others have a better idea.

Dreamworld post Rivertown - Whats next?
Natti_amusements replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah I’d definitely agree with all this. I’ve never lived around the parks so when I head to the Gold Coast I try to do them all, but I always leave Dreamworld the most satisfied. Better crowd management, much friendlier staff (although I’ve had some positive experiences with thoosies working on MW’s bigger coasters), park-specific merchandise and just better atmosphere tbh. MW definitely has the edge in terms of coasters and well-themed attractions but it’s always feels a ripoff with how often things break down and with the progress DW has been making and what’s been shared of Rivertown I believe it’s only another addition or two until Dreamworld beats out the competition. I think their next priority should be a water ride asap (preferably something story-driven) and then a bit later on another thrill coaster (probably something airtime focused) but DW is definitely heading in the right direction for sure. -
“City of Coffs Harbour is set to vote on a development application for a new tourist attraction at The Big Banana Fun Park. The proposed $2.9 million ‘Alpine Coaster’ will come before councillors at their ordinary general meeting on Thursday. While the coaster would exceed height limits at the site, council officers have recommended approval of the development. The proposed Alpine Coaster would include 34 toboggans running along a steel track. The cart track follows the existing toboggan ride route, with some extensions and loops away from this existing path, particularly upslope to the west. The Alpine Coaster would be gravity driven, and run on an 860 metre long tubular track. “This coaster is a significant addition to our fun park and a key element of our 15-year master plan which is expected to be another anchor attraction, fortifying our reputation as a must-visit destination on the North Coast,” Big Banana chief executive officer Michael Lockman said. “Beyond the thrill and scenery, safety of our guests is our upmost priority. “Riders on our Alpine Coaster are securely fastened in carts that are firmly affixed to the coaster track, ensuring a safe ride, even during the most thrilling moments.” The development would include the rollercoaster track system, a terminal and storage building, pedestrian access ramps and a winch system. Some demolition work would be required, including an old monorail track and a shed. Council staff have identified height, noise, loss of views and vegetation removal as the main assessment issues for the proposed development.”

Luna parks wooden wild mouse future
Natti_amusements replied to REGIE's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The park I would recommend one to would be Adventure World. They haven’t added anything major in several years, and they don’t have a family coaster at all. Would also be in the park’s price range and they certainly have the room. Even then that’s a major long shot though.- 123 replies

Luna parks wooden wild mouse future
Natti_amusements replied to REGIE's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Probs wasn’t the best wording on my behalf. Ik that the wild mouse is heritage listed and that this would never happen. Just thought it was something worth mentioning as, if the ride did need to be demolished instead of retracking it, this would’ve of been an interesting way to go about it imo.- 123 replies

RMC just announced a family wild mouse type coaster called a wild moose. Just putting it out there… https://www.coaster101.com/2023/08/18/rocky-mountain-construction-announces-wild-moose-family-coaster-model/- 123 replies

Lol I was at Genting in April too, and I agree that the park is really well themed, definitely one of the best in the region. It’s just a shame their two thrill coasters aren’t open yet. And the complex at the top of the mountain is just… HUGE. Could get lost in the entertainment complex for hours.

Sorry was in a rush while writing that had to get off a cable car. Basically Dreamworld has implied that you either start the ride going backwards and end it going forwards, or start it forwards and end it going backwards (depending on what way the train comes into the station, as if a train ends a ride backwards into the station, it’s next ride do the first half on the coaster backwards until the turn table & vice versa). The turn track is being used to change the orientation of the train during some point in the ride, and I don’t think it’s meant to be an ultra exciting element.

I think the point of the turn table is so the coaster can go backwards while keeping the ride a full circuit. The ride is supposed to start forwards, and then go backwards, or backwards and then go forwards, and that wouldn’t be possible as a simple shuttle coaster as the ride would always start forwards. Still a weird investment from dreamworld tho ngl

Adventure World New Ride DA application - 2022
Natti_amusements replied to Tim Dasco's topic in Theme Park Discussion
An RMC raptor would be great, put them on the map for enthusiasts for sure! I feel like AW’s next coaster will hopefully be a family-thrill ride, as at the moment they got Abyss which is fairly intense, and their only other coaster is a kiddy one. Something like a Gerstlauer Boblsed or maybe a Family Spinner could be good fit for the park -

Rampage is Retiring at Adventure World
Natti_amusements replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Sad to see it go. Wonder what will replace it. The park hasn’t added a big ride since Goliath over 5 years ago, and Abyss was announced 10 years ago this month back in April 2013. The stars just might be aligning for Adventure World to get a new coaster -

Lol was making new topic bout it when you commented this. Adventure World hasn’t gotten an adult ride since Goliath in 2017, and Abyss was announced 10 years ago this month, the being their most recent coaster. I have a feeling a major ride is coming soon ngl -

The New Atlantis - Reviews & Reactions
Natti_amusements replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Flew down from Darwin yesterday to visit village parks this week, and did SeaWorld today. Leviathan was great, pacing and airtime were top notch for this part of the world. The ride’s station and queue were well done, as was the presentation of the rest of the area. Can gladly say it is one of the best coasters in the country. As for the operations, I think this was the area’s, tbh the whole park’s biggest letdown. Levi went down once today (not including an added thunder warning closing all the rides) trident broke at least twice from what I could tell, and Jet Rescue was down for unscheduled maintenance. We hear about bad operations from village a lot on this forum but I didn’t actually realise that it was such a frequent occurrence. Glad to have come down tho, great area/coaster and I’m glad that SeaWorld has another two rides as part of its lineup. -
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - Spoilers
Natti_amusements replied to Dean Barnett's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Ye I got on Cosmic Rewind last August during my trip to Orlando, it’s just an all round fun ride. Wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, but after riding it was my favourite ride at the resort. The different sounds tracks rlly add another layer to the ride as well, like with Mission Breakout over at California Adventure. -
Dreamworld Maintenance 2023
Natti_amusements replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
SW San Diego is quite a good a park that is never rlly busy. I went in August last year, on the way back to LA after visiting family the night between getting a flight back home, and even though I went on a Sunday in summer, I had no trouble getting on every coaster plus a re-ride on their dive in two hours! Btw when it comes to knotts, Accelerator has been closed for months now and no one’s knows when it will re-open, it’s gonna leave a major gap in that parks lineup if it happens to close forever. -
Disneyland Adelaide?
Natti_amusements replied to BringADecentParkToSydney's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yeah our government probably wouldn’t find it worthwhile to invest that type of money, there just isn’t enough international market nearby to support something that big, especially that now there’s a concentration of Disney Parks in Asia. Universal did say they want their smaller projects to ultimately bring in more people to their big resorts, and from a geographical standpoint Australia would well support the Singapore park, and considering the Texas park is being built in a satellite city of Dallas, I’m sure an international destination like Sydney would be able to gain support for that type of smaller project. -
Disneyland Adelaide?
Natti_amusements replied to BringADecentParkToSydney's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Ye I don’t think DisneyLand will be coming down under anytime soon, their parks are always “go big or go home” type projects, stuff I couldn’t see being viable for our country, at least not after the 90s Disney gc project went to HongKong sweeping up the South East Asian Market. I do wonder however, with Universal trying to tap into regional markets, with their announced kid sized park in Texas and permanent haunt attraction on the Vegas strip, I think it’s a high possibility we see something original pop up from the mouse’s biggest rival in the next 10-20 years. Universal has stated their interest in different markets, and they re-branded their Parks and Resorts unit to “Universal Destinations and Experiences” just days ago. https://www.stltoday.com/travel/universal-studios-expanding-regional-theme-park-concepts-in-us-and-worldwide/article_ffa33c0e-521d-5e04-b709-2c98d9fa6f3d.html -
Luna parks wooden wild mouse future
Natti_amusements replied to REGIE's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If we did have to see it close, and I’m not the person to say how likely that would be, we would ABSOLUTELY have to see the replacement ride pay tribute to it. And tbh w the multiple coasters they’ve named Big Dipper I don’t think that should be a problem. On another crazy note, do you think RMC could do a hybrid/timber track wild mouse style coaster. It wouldn’t have to be a traditional wild mouse, but a family style RMC that pays nod to the original w a wooden support structure would be a killer replacement imo.- 123 replies

Dreamworld's new IP applications 2023
Natti_amusements replied to New display name's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think they’ll def be keeping the dragon. It wouldn’t have a name as random as ‘serpent slayer’ it they weren’t trying to save a few bucks by keeping most of the ride’s more prominent theming.
