Don’t worry to MOST people that was very clear. Same as most people realise next to zero staff or insiders have any real info on a project until it’s handed over by the builders to the park. -

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates

Someone literally said a staff member said it wasn’t opening any time soon. The first party evident that the whole ride sits on a giant slab is the fact it does, which anyone can see with their eyes. The fact you believe your word is good (the ‘as mine’ bit is redundant) is cute. The entire idea the ride is sinking is nonsense. -

Because why else would they check the structure and clearance before running the train around for the first time right? The whole structure sits on one giant slab, parts of it are not sinking for christ sake. Didn’t people stop listening to the dippin dots guy and random staff that say “dont expect it to open anytime soon” a long time ago? 🤦♂️ -

I'm just really confused right... Are these park management shrewd businesspeople that only care about the bottom line and delivering only attractions that will make money in the easiest way possible. (ie build a big thrill coaster for quick teen money) Or are they idiots that don't care about long term business and are stupidly building a disappointing themed family attraction that's ultimately bad for business and built on an old IP? Genuinely not sure what critique is being thrown out here about this? -

OMG are we still making this insane argument. It could be an area with 10 kids rides and it would still be big. -
Hilariously I have tried to ride Scooby specifically get two different 'shows' and hilariously managed to get the same one twice, I did have a chuckle. ...but I think you know what I meant in my original comment

I can guess that comes down to an artistic choice and a matter of personal opinion 😛 Given in that ride the turntable room and the hanging LEDs all work as one element, and the nature of those hanging tubes is they all work together it seems unlikely 'a couple' could be working unless there was a technical fault, which would be different to 'not bothering to do maintenance. One reason you would run different lights for different cycles in longevity. Doesn't matter how good a unit you have, if it runs for 8 hours a day, every day, wizzing about like a trashy Surfers nightclub it will fail. By alternating things and giving lights a break it would certainly prolong the life of the equipment. Plus some people will like a dark and moody coaster ride vs bright rainbow colours, and some the opposite. Different looks keep things fresh and appeal to a greater audience. Now if you rode it 6 times in a row and hated every ride then that's a problem.

Thats a good point

That’s sad to hear about Scooby. It was only a few years ago it had the upgrade to the disco room. Shouldn’t be hard to get that all up and running. As for JL, the ride is closed for months soon, could it be that there is an extensive refurbishment planned at that time to address all the problems mentioned? Why else would it be closed for so long?
-
Its only a disappointment if you want to ride a thrill coaster. If you’re a family looking for more to do it’s a win. I think the addition of Rivals more than counters the loss or Arkham.

Shit its almost like they are trying to make smart business decisions and please their market…

This thing is being chopped up into nasty bits its for sure not going anywhere. As for replacement, would some highly themed family coasters be so bad? Like the place IS for kids right as a primary audience?

Thank you for making me realise that crazy lady has obviously blocked me from that fb page for no reason 😛

So does a steam train but they had no issue not making the effort to keep that. Maybe they can add a fake whistle on their tractor in a costume.

Why would they continue to run an Ad campaign with a specific date if they had no intention of opening on that date? -

The ads are running everywhere. Who says it’s not opening Sep 3 just because the website doesn’t specifically say so? -
Supply and demand… A lettuce is $427 right now

Isnt this a case of ‘don’t like the price, don’t do it and move on with life’? I’d love to have a $1,500 dinner at Vue De Monde once a month, but I can’t afford that so I don’t. Doesn’t mean they cut the price if not fully booked though.

Step 1 to working out if something is false: If it’s posted on TTPSN then its almost surely garbage.
