  1. Having seen this event grow from nothing I think it's fair to say the first night is always a bit iffy and I'm sure any of the quibbles anyone has will be sorted by the next few nights for sure.
  2. Yes others have posted, I was mistaken and was thrown by the fact some had concrete inside. They are indeed formwork.
  3. I have probably missed it in this thread and I'm a little out of the horror genre loop as its not my thing. But which of the two new mazes is the major IP that was hinted that they'd secured as mentioned on last year's UTT?
  4. Those concrete caps in the back of that photo have been kicking around the site for a while. They have no just been poured and are only about 1m high if that. Look more like a pour sample or something?
  5. To be pedantic, they said a Sensor Fault, which doesn't mean a faulty sensor. Different parks have different policies on how they deal with ride stops. Some prefer to send cars through until all guests get back to the station, others have a policy to evac all guests after a ride stop (VRTP being such parks). There are pros and cons to each. Obviously what happened with The Smiler is definitely a con!
  6. Don't know if I love that. I enjoyed the atmosphere of being able to sit outside the UTT Lounge and be amongst the park still. Not tucked away in Legends which is a horrible old space. What is actually in the old Stars Cafe location? Itll be interesting this year as I feel the fountain area will be a lot quieter without people heading that way to the two hero mazes.
  7. Guys there are many of these attractions in the US already. I think it's safe to say they've worked out how not to kill people. Lets move on to another topic of discussion.
  8. People like that shit me. Why call in and try win a prize you don't want just so you can sell it. Takes away from someone who may have truly loved it but couldn't afford to buy tickets from winning.
  9. The power lines in the background have US style towers. It's not in Australia.
  10. Now this is done, is there a copy of the investigation available anywhere?
  11. That's a lot of Movie World, you probably deserve a medal for that kind of extreme patronage!
  12. Any atmospheric effect is going to be greatly affected by weather/ temperature.
  13. To hit theoretical capacity you have to use 30seconds for an unload/load cycle. That is never going to happen in an Australian park. The figures Janine posted are really not bad at all for that ride.
  14. Lol that would be kinda funny.
  15. If you're into ride tech I would certainly go on the tour/go back to see the Superman Launch system in action. Probably one of the coolest bits of machinery you will see.
  16. I recon the ride was to be called Rio Bravo but then an opportunity came along to license it to a film so they went with that. Does anyone know the real story?
  17. You're kidding? The GM of the park actually reads THESE forums? Are you sure? Why haven't we heard him ever mentioned before?
  18. Probably the worst video ever created ever...
  19. The park employees probably are affected by wondering why anyone's biggest concern at a time like that is how it affects a theme park.
  20. It's a park map. I think this is all a bit overly dramatic for something that's gonna end up soggy and in a bin shortly after being handed out.
  21. Like I said. I only have an issue if someone IS using it to talk down. You writing GP isn't really doing so IMO. We should move on, goin quite off topic here.
  22. Yes, I just don't like it when any reference is made that comes across as looking down on them. I don't see why non enthusiast can't be used.
  23. The hum is usually from the track design of B&Ms with the thick spine.
  24. I don't really like park guests being referred to as Randoms. Remember they pay for all this stuff we love. Just remember all of us are merely park guests if we walk through the front gate. Stay humble folks
  25. To me it sounds like the best implementation of VR I've yet seen/heard of.
