  1. DreamNova will have alot of Dreamworld videos, if that's what you wanted. It's still in construction, but there's gonna some decent content there when it becomes online.

Not technically true. After one ride on the log flume I was saturated, whereas eight non-stop rides on the Wild West Falls (during light rain) didn't nearly get me as soaked as much as I did on that disgusting little log flume. It's because the wild west falls' carriages are more aerodynamic so no-one gets absolutely soaked if there is a full load, and from memory, there is also water effects when you hit the water to look like you get wet. Gotta love their excellent themeing, but hey Dreamworld have the pre-love bubblegum.
  3. I do realise that for sure, but, I didn't say anything about ride-ops did I? I am only talking about the actual ride itself and its capcity, not the actualy capacity of the ride-ops. But can you see what happens when the ride is a better design? Let's look at Wipeout and the claw in comparison. Both cost about the same, but Wipeout's design i.e. when the carriage comes into dock, takes a significantly long time to do, which is something that a ride-op can't avoid compared to The Claw's docking system which is extremely simple minus the current electrical problems.
  4. Before to get to the Tower Of Terror, you had to go through this incredibly cramped pathway off Tiger Island to get there. Now the area, including parts of the entrance too have had work on them, freeing up more space for better access, something I have wanted for ages. But I personally reckon the whole area needs some touch-ups. The skull isn't exactly in the best condition, there a holes in the themeing where you can see right through it, and overall the whole area still does stink. I still stand by my ideas of a B&M. Some of Dreamworld's head people have done overseas VIP trips having a look at all the different coasters, and like I said, they know they have capacity problems. And wha a better way to fix it than a nice big flyer, standup or inverted? And in regards to records, The Claw doesn't hold any records, but they still market it as "the biggest pendulum on the planet" and "the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere". And yes, The Claw in my opinion is probably one of the highest capacity rides in the park.
  5. When did you go last NatDog and do you have a season pass?

I do?! Like I have said before, fairly good plot, bloody hard to play, extremely good graphics engine (much more efficient than Doom 3 or 2 for that matter, hehe) and overall and excellent game. Even better in multiplayer too. Perhaps brady i'll give you an online game soon huh?

Yeah, as for GD, the west side is the one always open during off-peak out of the two because of the facilities for the photos. And that telescope looking thing I was telling you about is (from what I saw) the new camera in the post so the person technically doesn't have to do anything. As for east though, its had its fair share of problems within the past few months. One of the cable catchers that fold out up the tower has been semi broken for a while now, and you can actually hear it rub up agains the gondola as you go up the first quarter of the tower. Its not like it has broken off "yet", it just doesn't fold away properly, which can cause problems in the near future.
  8. That's actually wrong Rabid. My sister-in-law works in certain parts with construction and the plans have already been confirmed for the TB area. Also, the word from today inside the park (which is also what I have heard outside of the park) is that there will be about three or so smaller thrill rides being put in. My bet currently for a coaster would be an inverted, flyer or stand-up. Dreamworld knows how much we go on about capacity, and I honestly think that to hit back at the capacity issue, its going to have to be B&M. 4X6 trains would definitely hit the spot, and those smaller rides, whether or not they will be major thrill rides, will give a lot of variety to the already growing amount of attractions. The reasons why I have said, Inverted, flying or standup is because two of these are not yet in Australia and will give the General Public something new and different, and even if Dreamworld were to go with a B&M inverted, it would still certainly kick Lethal Weapon's ass that's for sure. And as for photos from my trip down south today, we have a lot of colourful painting going on around Main street, which is excellent to see, Wipeout is still dead, Tower Of Terror has gotten even lower than STE, one side was working on GD, and the park was packed. What more could you want? There's also been some work on the area around Tower Of Terror. Remember how the whole area was squashed? Its not anymore baby!

Well that's what I'm not sure about. There is now a photography post for both sides for during the holidays (one side is basically a concrete block with a crate under it and a beach umbrella) but the main side now how some kind of telescope looking device that looks awfully like the on-ride photo machines that they have down at Cyclone.
  10. It doesn't matter anyway, the coaster is taking over the TB area next year anyway.
  11. Well, some news that I have heard around the grape vine is that the actual plans for the new coaster have been one hundred percent confirmed, and the work they are doing on the site now is for the next coaster which will be hopefully launching sometime December 2005. But when we have something extremely good as this, we have to have a downside. Apparently, Big Brother have signed on for another four seasons at Dreamworld. So those dreams of a new wooden coaster etc. get flushed down the toilet for now.

Now here are a few errors made that should be re-adressed before you go off making acceptance speeches for your work. A)you say that the parts would have to be custom made eh? Well I'm sure I have only seen one Ride Trade freefall tower in my lifetime so the parts must be pretty hard to come by (cough). B)Moving parts? We're talking an hydraulics and engines, of course its going to have moving parts. And as for the gondola getting in the way, well, does the engine get in the way now? C)You say we need to get helicopters for new parts to be put up on the GD. Now, let me ask you, how did they get the engines up there? Three chinooks? I think the attached photo explains what system they have and would use.
  13. Thanks has to go out to www.rollercoasterpro.com for this fantastic video. Just access the link provided and somewhere near the bottom will be the Xcelarator video. http://rollercoasterpro.com/music_videos/index.php

No its main point is supposedly its single player, which is just excellent if you want some real gaming thrill, but its multiplayer certainly gives an edge over counter-strike. For me, Counterstrike is just overrated and way too old for it to be a number one title.

I actually reckon that Far Cry is a much more stunning game than Doom 3 is, just had a smaller advertising budget than the people at Doom 3 did. Seriously, if you are looking for a new FPS for your computer, look no further than Farcry, such good gameplay indeed.
  16. I was guessing that it would be something like that. But seriously, information!!!! Anything about STE that has relevence to what we're talking about would be good.
  17. Our tower isn't concrete, it is a steel tube with a stair case running up the middle. I'm guessing though if it really "is" a concrete tower though, they have some really easy way to do maintenance on the engines for GD at the top of the tower right? Helicopter drop?
  18. Okay, obviously some people need to stop drinking their bath water, but I'm still interested, were there any accidents involved with STE?

Sorry 'bout the wait guys. I have been caught up in making a few new coasters on top of updating the existing ones. There is one currently being made (codenamed Blade Element) that will blast off to 145km in 2 seconds and do 13 versions without any fuss. It will be cool, but there's alot of testing to do with that one.
  20. Hmmmm.... I think my favourite park is..... *sits back in chair and takes a stroll down memory lane before realising he was still halfway through a sente.....* Oohhh right, yeah Dreamworld by far. It's "fairly" clean, has capacity issues and poor themeing for most parts of the park. What more could you ask for in a Six Flags, i meant.... a macquarie park?

Also, another thing to point out is that no matter what, the Tower Of Terror will only launch every 60 seconds. This is set into the console because the magnets become very hot after the launch and braking, so there is a permanant 60 second counter so there's no e-brakes due to temperature, seeming there is already too e-brakes cause by other things already.
  22. They had their fright night in April because it was to celebrate the last days of Tomb Raider. I wonder though if Dreamworld is still planning on doing more public night events?
  23. I was only kidding Richo. You know I'm too soft to start a fight. Technically yes, the Tower Of Terror is uses is a type of inductor. Induction means "to bring forward" as in "Linear Induction Motors" and while the type of ride isn't actually an LIM coaster, it still uses the term "induct" to bring the pod forward. I said, like with GD, is that by upgrading the tower's computer systems (sensory, server computers etc.) the magnets are able flux that energy much quicker and more efficently because the sensory system can detect the pod quicker and relay its position faster, making the magnet's "induction" more precise.
  24. Okay, an update on the whole Tower Of Terror debate. I checked with a whole heap of engineers at W/out yesterday and basically we were both right, in a margin of 95/5 (95 being me....) Through age, some of the sensors up the last bit of the induction can't handle the speed and give off e-brakes because they don't relay fast enough, so they have brought back the speed so it would run more stable (even though it still gives numerous amounts of e-brakes, stoopid tower....)
  25. A coaster is something that is fully connected to the track by guide wheels (the things with the circle round it in the photo). Anything else that doesn't have these is not a coaster.
