well if im not mistaken the newly kids area will be retained behind coney island and their idea of new rides could be the traditional meery go round, i think if they are opening a new ride it would be placed near the ferris wheel where the kids rides once stood. A good ride for luna park would definately be a space probe drop ride, minimal space (its a pole) and very exciting and extreme. -
holes for what, they cant fit anything in that park, luna park is known all around the world, from new york to australia for its heritage listing, its not about the rides, its the atmosphere of a night the entertainment the traditional carnival rides the traditional circus, luna aprk is trying to keep the park as traditional as possible. i wouldnt count on a new ride, but if i owned the park i would probably of bought the rail chase from sega world and installed it in the coney island room and helped people remember that teh ride is a NEW ghost train, to replace the old one. Luna park is fine the way it is for now.

i think this is very bad publicity for movie world. i feel so sorry for them, the park is a great park but to tell you the truth they need more rides. last time i went to movie world, we finished within 2 hours. now that the wild west is broken down its even worse.
-
im not saying your wrong in fact your right, the park ought to be better for a $72 million development. There is not much of a change, more rides are taken out like the crowd pleaser the big dipper. yes i think it will get busy for the first few months. but wonderland will not loose its attendances over luna park.

i heared that all rides would be refurbished at homebush and then returned, i recently sent an email they said the wild mouse will open after years of closure. so that must mean it will open sooner or later? -
but the easter show is that 1 time of the year, and its not just rides even though there are around 50 of them. there are stacks of rides, 3 roller coaster 2 of which are wild mouses and many thrill rides, of course people will go to the easter show, there are showbags as well, pavillions, shows, BMX shows in the superdome and the one and only easter show (the man from snowy river). its obvious people will go to that. luna park has what 7 rides and thats it.
-
to tell you the truth wonderlands popularity will not drop when luna park reopens, they never had any people go in before and it wont happen again. theres no roller coaster except that cloned wild mouse thats been rotting for years ontop of the dodgems and the park is to small. western people will not travel to the city to luna park, its free of entry but there are no rides. for an unlimited ride pass $35 you should spend the extra $10 to ride a roller coaster with 3 loops (Demon) a large wooden roller coaster (bush beast) a water park (beach) small carnival rides, thrill rides (space probe) and a mad water ride (river rampage) theres more to do more space and cheaper to go to wonderland than luna park. they wont loose park attendances over luna park.

for a full report on this disaster watch channel 10 news tonight.

hey wonderbus i never said that?

but there are more rides to ride at wet n wild that wonderland itself, wueing for a ride at wonderland on such a high attendance is amazing, the park still attracts a fair few people when it wants to. the park isnt down the gutter, people say that the park will close down, i think its starting to build back up again, which will lead to more popularity and maybe more rides, like dreamworld, their popularity is high so they maintain that popularity by surprising visitors every year with new rides of different designs. i think when luna park sydney reopens wonderland may loose their popularity becasue then there is something different to go to. luna park sydney is unique in every way and people like new, people like different.

luna park sydney has progressed really well and has now started to advertise everything about the park. luna park sydney recently in the last week launched a really good website giving details of the new luna park sydney with a few old past photos. The Crystal Palace already is opened at luna park from october. the park officially opens to the general public for free admission in march 2004. the price of rides are as follow: green lunas - 3 tickets to ride blue lunas - 5 tickets to ride red lunas - 6 tickets to ride $3.00 - 3 lunas $10 - 12 lunas $20 - 30 lunas unlimited ride pass - $35 familly pass 2 adults 2 children - $95 this seems pretty fair the park opens with a big celebration and the hours of park operation is outstanding from monday - thursday - 11 am - 6pm friday - 11 am - 12 midnight saturday - 10am - 12 midnight sunday and public holidays - 11 am - 6pm the new website features history of the park, operators, pictures and descriptions of rides, the parks newsletters updates and everything about the park you can imagine. please everyone the website www.lunaparksydney.com is worth a look, and a visit when the park reopens please theres plenty more to look at, thankyou

still wonderland has had the previous record for the largest park attendance in australia. that record seems to be broken by wonderland every year.

oh no jaggie i only posted what i heared. i went to screamscape and they said that zodiac was removed therefore i brought up the topic at totalthrills. but anyway i keep the peace.
-
im starting to get very annoyed with people like you jaggie i post information that entirely is my opinion and i apologise i didnt write IMO. i never said i got the info from anywhere otherwise i would have implied so. i was just saying what i though wonderland would do to the zodiac, so dont jump to conclusions. did we have a bad day so you decided to take out your anger onto me. i apologise im sure you do to. im trying to make friends, rather than enemies and you throw it back in my face! calm down!
-
the zodiac was taken down i think that area will be closed because the magic show will be removed there is no need no walk under the rainbow for 1 ride. i heard that the park will end where the space probe currently is.

my dad went to work yesterday and noticed he was caught in traffic on walgrove road, long story short there were hundreds upon hundreds of cars trying to get into wonderland, my friend today said it was a corporate christmas party but they made a lot of money. does anyone know more?
-
alright there are hundredds of days called school days where there may be a maximum of about 50 - 100 people in the park. i dont count those days as proper park attendance. i classify the parks attendance by the weekends and the holidays. i know there attendance wasnt as good as 15 years ago but all i am saying is that it is picking up, the park attendance is starting to get higher on the weekends and holidays. lets face it its not a good park anymore but its still hanging on by a thread. the wildlife park makes more money then wonderland thats te only reason why wonderland actually is still operating becasue the money comes from there.
-
yes muke you are correct the park is opening a new attraction like calypso beach it will open 1st december as advertised already in the local fairfield newspaper.
-
i will say the last time, wonderland attendances are actually beggining to be the highest in over 3 years. ever since they introduced the after 5 pm the attendances soared, and its very packed of a saturday night. everyone is at skool. who would go to wonderland during the week, hello. sydney is a working city and everyone in sydney works a hell of a lot, no one has time to go to wonderland anymore. at christmas i will gurantee you that the park wil be packed, i swear on the holy bible. yes the park is going to the hill, but they have introduced park competitions, they have introduced many more shops and redevelopments, imo i think they are fetting prepared to start all over again for a brand new fuure.
-
people dont complain to me about what i hear, becasue i only right what i am told. i know the beastie has been closed for a year ive been there all i am saying is that it wont reopen even if little wonders land is reused. it will not reopen. my info is from the actual wonderland phone number, i went to guest relations last time i went to the park a week ago and i also sent an email. i dont know whta is going on around the park but its certainly noy going to be something big.
-
i recently contacted the park in person, phone and email and the same response was given, the beastie will not operate at wonderland sydney again, and the park does have plans for the park, but not for the immediate future. They all said that the park has picked up in the last year as the preferred holiday fun and they said that the plans for a new rollercoaster and new rides will not be introduced until another 3 years at least. i know it sounds very carp for us sydney people, but wonderland doesnt have any competition in new south wales or sydney. queensland have sea world, wet n wild, movie world and dreamworld competing for more tourism and they are all in the same area. it sounds like this is as good as wonderland can get. the only rumor recently been going around is that wonderland will have a sharks golf centre. its far fetched, but there wont be anything until another 3 years. sorry to dissapoint you all. Big News! Tony Laffan better known as tony and juleen the illusionists at wonderland sydney are due to leave wonderland sydney. Tony Laffan signed a contract with wonderland in 1999to perform at wonderland sydney 7 days a week. his contract was extended to serve wonderland for 2000 shows. His last show at wonderland sydney ends in january 2004. This news just got worse, he will now perform 1800 shows in Dreamworld signing a 3 year contract as of next year. The contact hasnt been signed but there may be a chance that he will stay a wonderland sydney and sign another contract.

Australian Idol at Luna Park Melbourne
Nightshifter replied to Nightshifter's topic in Theme Park Discussion
seeing though it was years Guy has been on a roller coaster it wasnt a good start to go on the trillseeker known at sea world, there also at ekka and the easter show. its crap -
Aussie Idol at luna park melbourne, did anyone notice that guy and shannon went to luna park melbourne for their promotional tour. it was great they rode a pretty crappy roller coaster but anyway.
-
the wood is treated pine so it won't be termite infested and there are things called rumours. someone receives info anthey spread the info and add a bit and they spread that info and add a bit and so on like chinese whispers, i will gurantee u that the bush beast will not come down. as far as im concerned workers in the park dont get told the parks future info. the board of wonderland determine what happens and release it in an appropriate time.
-
ok first of all the bush beast isn't closed. Second of all a wooden roller coaster doesn't have a life span in less than 20 years in fact there are wooden roller coasters that have lasted 100 years. The bush beast was the parks first ride ever built at wonderland what maked you think something like the bush beast will be taken down. They just refurbished it, last year they replaced old wood with new wood and when i last rode it 3 weeks ago ive never been on a ride like the bush beast where the queue line was literally half way down the stairs on a saturday morning. What im concerned about is the beasties future, where has that gone, why havent they reopened it and will it ever reopen?
