i like luna parks sytem which allows people to walk in the park for a look around ro to go to the cafe's etc, and you pay seperate fees for ride and unlimited ride passes. Wonderland wouldnt of survived that way becasue its out of reach from main tourist areas, luna apark is in the middle of a tourist area, sydney city, the harbour bridge etc, so people can walk in and out when they please but it's not like that for wonderland.

this is a rumour but its true that part of the land at wonderland must be used for a recreation park, the size of the beach are and the river rampage and bush beats area. it is said that if there will be a recreation park, the beach area and possibly the bush beast may reopen, just a rumour thats all.

Could T.O.T become the tallest coaster again?
Nightshifter replied to Nightshifter's topic in Theme Park Discussion
hey daniel before you assume that i do anything research your info, ie, go to the website and take a look at what is says i'll gladly send you the link but please shut up. -
well after looking through google i found an article containing info about superman the escape being made with an extra 50 feet and a different launch system, they are also thinking of making the tower of terror exactly the same. here is the script. Back to the ongoing speculation surrounding Six Flags Magic Mountain's troubled marquee attraction, here's a rumor so wild, it's beyond Whopperific: SFMM is talking to Intamin about fixing Superman. They want to convert it to a Rocket launch and add 50 Feet to the tower to make it the tallest ride again! It would use the same cars but lose the LSMS. They would call it Superman Reborn. If it works Intamin would start selling more reverse freefalls but with the hydrualic launch. They would also like to change Dreamworlds Tower of terror this way too. I'm no engineer, but I'd imagine that doing something so radical would cost as much as a complete tear-down/rebuild.

i rekon its quite easy for someone to peg a rock at the people on th ecorkscrew whilst doing the corkscrews, aint that hard expecially when the rides above a path

in a way everyone does get frustrated when waiting in queue lines and when a theme park expands the crowds also expand, Im going to dreamworld in september, the time when a birth of a new ride comes. I expect queue lines to be busy, but what i don't understand is how the staff go about when the park is busy. There needs to be more staff at each busy ride and they need to load and unload everyone very quickly. I can't stand waiting in queue lines when the staff arent working hard enough, thats one thing i noticed at luna park is that they are fast workers, its always the same at the easter show. But is there are large crowds and large queues ever hire more staff , pay the current staff more money to work faster or look at the ride and see what can be done like the cyclone, it has very large crowds and only 1 train operating on the ride, that ride seriously needs another train. With wipe out there can be large queues but the ride takes the whole queue just about.

yous are all here complaining to me about not making offensive comments about others, have any of you realised what commenst you have made to others, there are stax of comments many have said about me, i know i am what 12 years younger or more than most of you, doesn't give reason for any of you to carry on and ridicule others especially me in this case, yes i did tease gays in a way, and non i have nothing against them, but i used them as an example because i am a person who rarely goes to the city and its the first time ive seen gays everywhere, not the second the first, i apologise if i have offended people, freaks are people i think that are like punks, goths, people with bizarre hair styles ect, not gays.

thanks anyway i did walk over the bridge on the way back becasue the ferry was a half an hour wait, i didnt the first time becasue the ferry was already at the dock just as soon as we got off the train, so why walk? it was nice to walk on the way back because it was sunset, but so many freaks and gay people everywhere, gese its sick. Its like miriam in sydney or something.

richard i was wondering if there is going to be a luna park gallery, i understand you live in queensland but will there ever be a luna park sydney gallery anytime soon.

thats true. i was always sick of wonderland becasue i used to go mkore tha 10 times a year, but with dreamworld its been 2 years since ive been and im dying to go on all the rides, even though ive been on them a lot i seem to miss going on the toewr of terror, dreamworlds rides to me are rides that i never get tired of, some of wodnerlands were the same, i still always loved to go on them despite how long i have to queue for them, if they build more rides at dreamworld there will be more people and you would have to end up queing more and more for longer.

i think Tsunami would fit in perfectly, it is sort of hard to name a ride becasue then you have to theme the ride, but with the name tsunami it would fit but also collide with the name Wipe out becasue the wipe out specifically is a type of wave as well with a wave as the theming in the background. It would also of recommended ripcurl as another name but then again its also another type of wave. There really needs to be something that realtes to the ocean or water theming of things but it seems to be hard. Sea animals seem to be a bit lame to name a ride but i think something like parts of the ocean like twlilight zone or something like that would be great.

In our school if we go on an excursion we pay part of it and the school pays for the rest, really its free bus fares for us whilst the school pays and we pay most of the excursion costs and the school covers for the rest which is all well and truly good but we dont go on as much excursions in this case as other schools do, i have no problem with paying the full amount, and i do learn a lot i dont really like taking interest in what i learn but then again most kids hate school. But with excursions in our school they are very particular with where we go, it really relates to what we are learning which is good but our school is more related to the academic side of things. My first excursion this year is for italian and we are going to leichardt (mini italy) at Norton street in the piazza. It should be good, this excursion is more to get used to italian culture.
-
in our school every subject is allowed 2 excursions or incursions throughout the whole year. We havent had any yet, a bit sad but our school is cheap in my eyes.
-
i realise they left to go back to school i worded that wrong myself, i mean that sydney people from the city think they are more better than the westy people, its really sad how they act in the city, the people are nice in the way that they provide good service and you can ask help from anyone, but the way they go about it makes them out like they are really up themselves and are better then us. i dont like the way they are, the kids are just as worse in the city.
-
true you do give money to the park but that money is going to the cost of food suplies, toys, stuffed animals and refurbishments the operation of the rides (electricity) and maintenance of the rides and any other details i have left out, i wouldn't be surprised if wonderland was making a loss or a really slow profit. They do have money but not much of it, causing the closure of the park.

there were stax of schools all in mufti clothes there, one school was their for a history assignment on luna park another on physics and the other for science in general. There were 2 or 3 schools definately 2 schools. they were rich schools too all from the sydney city area. you could tell becasue they were up themselves like many sydney people are. the park was packed and then went all mpty all of a sudden.
-
i dont think a person such as myself or people for that matter or the whole of sydney will help wonderland into getting more rides, everytime in went to wonderland i used to talk to people i used to do the surveys around the park and gave them ideas for new rides and roller coasters, but money is such a problem these days, you really think Wonderland could have pulled money out from their behinds to fork out more money, they couldn't it cost millions for a roller coaster and even millions for a large thrill ride such as the space probe.

on Friday the 4th June 2004, i hed off with my friends to luna park, we paid $7.50 for a day tripper (unlimited train, bus and ferry faires for 24 hrs) and went to circular Quay had mc donalds for breakfast and caught the ferry at circular quay to milsons point. The day was beautiful and the park was empty, the park still hasnt been finished as they still constructed the water front restaurnats which seem to look really good at the moment. We walked in and noticed schools starting to arrive. We wnteredt inside paid out rides pass which was $35 and started going on the rides. The park seemed really different as all the rides were relocated elsewhere in the park. We had a pretty boring ride on the tumble bug, it would have been better if the ride was like half the sizzler than half the tumble bug, more experience. We went on the rotor which was operated by the same girl who worked on the space probe. We went on all the other rides, but in the morning the wild mouse was closed. The park got really packed by lunch time with school kids everywhere. The wild mouse then opened and we had a good ride on it. It was really fun but no different from the wild mouse you would find at the easter show. The rides seemed pretty good in great condition. The tango train wa sthe longest and most exciting of all rides. We went in coney island (not much has changed there) there were the mechanical machines which only operate at different days and even then they have a price. Coney island was probably one of the best parts of the park, the slides were great, the joy wheel was fun and just the feel inside the building was fun. It wasnt retained so people could get the feel of how it looked like when it first opened. There were all these weired games inside which were almost 60 years old or even older. They were fully operational for 5 cents a game. It was interesting to look at all the old pictures. They also have a video presentation of melbounes luna park and sydneys luna park showing off the rides big dipper 60 years ago. It was very interesting. Other rides included the spider which was he worst ride of its king ive been on and the ranger which has been enhanced. The first spin launches upside down straight away. It was fun. The downfall was that part of the park behind coney island is really bad, i mean the situation of the rides and how it looks is really bad. There is plenty more room to place small ride like the zipper. The park was great all up, the new look buildings look fantastic and the big top is great. The old carousel looks great but situated in a very tight space in the front of the park. The new popcorn hall has some unfinished painted areas to do but still looks great. The whole park is really good for those old people that used to go there 60 years ago. It still gives an old unique feel in the park and at the same time gives a modern view of the park as well. I urge anyboy to go luna park right away. If anybody goes there are a few warnings even is you are a thrill seeker. The rides make you dizzy i mean every ride, do not eat before you go on the rides becasue there is vomit everywhere and the rotor is something to go on once every hour not every second. I got really ill at the end of the day. All the rides do is spin in unique ways or go upside down. The only ride recommened to go on all the time is the wild mouse or the dodgems of the coney island slides. Do not bother going on the simulator, the screen is broken and the movie is in 3D but no 3D glasses are given so all the images are blured. It was the worst ride in the whole park. Overall the park is 9/10 spider: 6/10 ranger:7/10 tango tain:9/10 wild mouse:9/10 ferris wheel:6/10 simulator:3/10 rotor:7/10 ufo:8/10 coney island:9.5/10 tumble bug:6.5/10 dodgems:5/10

you said it willsy, it was the same with Wonderland, despite what they did do to the park like refurbishments and if they got rides Wonderland still would have been ridiculed by everyone. Dreamworld seems to be the same.
-
are there any recent picture of the ride construction?
-
i think ocean parade and goldrush area are both the best, goldrush's best ride for me would be eureka mine ride, ocean parade would be wipe out. If i had to pick the park best ride no doubt it would be tower of terror.

whats that song actually called?
-
what are you talking about i dont recall myself saying that i have on ride videos of the bush beast and beastie, i only have on ride photos, i didnt get consent for that becasue i sneaked it on, i wouldn't even het sonsent to film on a ride, i'd hide it, but ive never taken an on ride video on any ride for that matter.
-
umm i may quote that the park was doing really well from the start, i think if they had the park open all day from the start they would still be open today becasue they would have more money. After the sky hawk was made at wonderland (the very last thrill ride) the park started going downhill from there. It's been well over 5-6 years since there last proper ride. Since then the mountain cascades, ned kelly getaway, beastie, splashdown, the slides, tasmanian devil, dragons flight, sky hawk, sky rider, the spider ride and maybe others if ive missed any have all shut down or been demolished completely. Thats a fair few rides gone with none of them actually replaced. Theres your answer. The commericals were really fine, i thought thery were alright for the time period they were made in. I mean some are a bit funny like the sky hawk commerical, which is the lamest commerical ive got and ive seen, but the park was great from the start.
