ozattractions has videos of thunderbolt (on ride) cyclone (off ride) Giant Drop (off ride) Tower of terror (of ride) Wipe Out (off ride) but im not to sure if the site is working because i cant get in.
-
no it was the beach tower but the rails on the water slides were wooden, the tower really wasnt painted very well, and the awning at the top was all crappy looking. It wasnt ned kellys getaway. And im sorry if i wrote like poems im sorry. And yes i think Jamie Oliver is the best chef in the world, Hes inspired me to become a chef.
-
sorry wonderbus i should have explained more in detail, the video has partial pieces of the park in 85 however there are other clips from the beach but im not sure of the time era, but the beach is very weired looking, the tower looked wooden. i dont have a scanner, but yeh if i do get one i'll post them on. my friend just shoed my his wonderpasses and he has 10 different wonder passes, with different images, the very old ones dont even have a photo of yourself.

lol you dont have to mock me by placing a quote well in the past, but i still think the demon is probably one of the top 3 roller coasters in Australia, not the world, which i rephrase that. I have videos of wonderland in 1985, when it opened. It has the pirate ship, hanna babera land, the river rampage and the beach but the videwo only lasts for about a minute and a half. i have photos of ned kelly getaway, wazards fury, on ride bush beast anjd beastie, old beastie photos the slides that were in little wonders land, i have the demon space probe the beach pirate ship practically all the rides even the baby rides on photos. i cant send them in becasue i dont have a scanner. I have stax of old rides in the park, i have wonderland commericals dating from the space probe and the sky hawk and the dinosaurs exhibition that was there. i have old park maps and old advertisment posters. and the most recent memorabilia is the demon and space probe photos from the very last day and a lot of stuff from the shop. that about it.

you think thats weird i used to be able to go into luan park sydney 2000 website, now it shut down ever since the new website went on, i could also go into wonderlands old website.

hey just under curiosity, how often does dreamworld actually do maintenance on the rides. Becasue they are doing maintenance in May, when does the nest maintenance season occur after May?
-
I know i know, gese. Give me a break, i dont sit on the computer 24 hours a day, or what you guys seem to do, so i know that you have some i dont know, class when you are typing informal posts, and yes they are informal, ytou can read what im saying so putting capitals is just bull crap to me. I rush i don't like to write proper letters, and i sure dont have a lot of time as well, and stop reading the best, im now shifty not boycotta. And i dont write a lot of crap anymore.
-
lol theres no need to go off at me now, i joined ages ago, then for some reason i was cut off, then i rejoined as Nightshifter or 'shifty'. So here i am now, i did prefer boycotta better though.

if anybody remembered, in lansvale they had luna park magic kingdom, it was really dull, had animals, elephants giant slides, swinging chairs fair rides ect, and the main feature were 2 water slides that go to a very small hill. That was the main attraction, very boring. But it was more of a picnin place, anybody remember?
-
lol, no probs, i was so into all this crap right at the beggining, then i just browsed every noe and then. Its very rare that i comment now.

space probe was the best, the best theming in a ride in australia. the demon was one of australia's best rides but very poor theming. Sonwy river had a great theming at the beggining, now it aint too bad, but the best river rapids ride in australia. the bush beast had no theming but a great ride, i love the beach looks better then dreamworlds. But wonderland always to me had better theming than dreamworld. Goldrush has the best theming, transilvania is kool, hanna babera land had great theming, and at the start the pirates land used to be one of the best theming. I have just found a video with every part of wonderland, the video is dated back to 1986, it was very packed but the park looked amazing. It lacked scenery, but thats explainable becasue the park just opened and there is no large trees. but on a whole Wonderland - best for theming, second best for rides Dreamworld - best for rides, second best for theming Wet n wild - best for water rides Sea world - best for shows. movie world - best for the most exciting rides Australia's best theme park all rounder: (IMO) 1st - dreamworld 2nd - wonderland 3rd - movie world 4th - wet n wild 5th - luna park sydney 6th - sea world

hey i dont expecte wonderland to open i mean nobody does, but what the hell, its a nice website and its great photos, great job. I really boubt that a new theme park in sydney is the answer but who cares, im much to old for that crap.
-
very interesting site, poor feller who did the site, its pretty clear that wonderland isnt going to reopen again.
-
im sorry, but i would say hello if i knew what you looked like, i could say the same about you. You didnt say hello to me, i ran into someone on the pirate ship, but im not sure it sounded like he was from here. He had a friend next to him and told us to sing a song whilst riding the ride. it was funny. just seeing if it was someone here. and yes i did exaggerate a lot of the numbers im sorry but i was just to excited, it did however make the report more exciting.

after a decision made the night before, i went with friends to wonderland sydney for the final day, how exciting it is was to attend. we got their nice and early with only a few hundred people already there. i got my ticket and waited with friends at the front gate. the park started to pick up with a minyte to go the staff stood at the front gate and then on the mic they said: "welcome to the very last day of won derland Sydney!, (followed by cheers) have a great day!" We went in ran to the rides and made the demon, then space probe with no queue at all. We then made the pirate ship with a slight queue at the time. WE waited for gold rush to open and ran to the bush beast. Both trains in operation with 5 staff members working the ride, the queue for the second ride on the bush beast hit the sign of the bush beast. i still queued but within 40 min we made the ride, which was fairly fast. we also made another ride. The river rampage was moderate at the time and thean got really really busy, the helicopters were going off and the crowds fgot larger, the staff rode the rides and took cameras on the rides and filmes everywhere. Some tears were shed and hugs were given. we made the dodgems twice zodiac and every ride that mattered. By 1:00 the park was at the peak of the crowds with very large crowds at the demon which we queued for over and hour for where the line hit way past the demon manor. the space probe queue was outside but there was no queue in the tunnel. The ride operator wore space probe suits and forced customers to run threw the tunnels and quickly sit down and the psecial effects were great with smoke everywhere. it was great to see the staff were enjoying themselves. I went on the demon seeing my friend working at the demon manor managing free on ride photos of both the demon and space probe. she said that theres a staff party as you all are aware of and that its planned to be great. All staffv got paid double time and a half which is i think about $22, which is great for doing nothing. Today was the buisiset the park has ever been before with over 20 000 people this time. It was crazy but staff mananged the rides very quickly. Theres a guy that put up a sign saying that i was here in 1985 when the park opened and stayed here every day for 18 years. it was crazy he had statistics like bush beast i rode 18 923 times and other ridiculous counts. The atmosphere was great and the park was swarming with happy people sad at the same time, the park hit 5pm but the rides didnt close till about 6pm when i rode my final ride. The shops were crazy with very large sales from 50% to all items at $2 each. Of course some memorabila was bought by me but it was crazy with over a thousnad people cramed in the shop. What a great day, it was the best, i will miss u wonderland sydney, i will always remember you, ciao and all the best.

lol i might bump into you, but what are the chances of me knowing who you are, i dont even know your age, im only 15, your probably like a 20 yr old or even older. It will be packed tommorow, i dont even have like a discount coupon, which i normally have do its full price for me, but i can manage to sneak in as a child.
-
im actually heading down with friends to wonderland sydney tommorow to witness the last day, im excited, the weather is lookign good and i have my camera ready, im really just going to avoid doing housework at home, but it should be good, and i realise how packed its going to be. Just a question, are both trains on the bush best operating? and are any rides closed?
-
if i was owned wonderland and i was in the situation of having no money i would look for a wealthy buyer who would continue running the park or sell a lot of the land, the back carparks werent used so sell them and get a few million from that and even a lot of the land that would not be used i.e. hanna babera land, it wasnt used therefore sell it. they would have been more comfortable to keep the park going for another 10 years at least and maybe attract more people if a new ride was built, see they are closing down so its attracting thousnads of people a day. but there was no need to sell the park for a very cheap 50 million.
-
my first thought was hurricane It called be also called tornado (very close to cyclone) Or guyser. i think i like this one better. or whatever. Has dreamworld actually released any info saying that they are constructing this ride this yr in septmeber or if they even are doing it.
-
im going to queensland in september holidays what are the queue lines like and is the new ride opening in september?
-
its actually more money to sell the ride to a scrap metal place or wood place than to an actuall theme park. Im not sure about the bush beast but the demon can fetch more money if sold to a scrap metal place.
-
I think this all well and truly good, but for Sea World's next project, don't you think that being a marine park they should have an underwater aquarium? Just a thought.
-
is anyone 100% sure that dreamworld is opening this gyro swing in time for the september holidays?
-
and right u are richard, but you have never mentioned the downsides to theme parks in australia, -the beatie shut down -the thunderbolt is removed -wonderland closes down -the wild west falls had a fire tragedy -the thrillseeker at seaworld is removed When you mentioned what has happened to change parks and now that wonderland sydney is closing down its safe to say that while all little things are happening to parks one gigantic piece of news like wonderland closing sure puts a big cross next to the bad things that have happened to australian theme parks. We loose the space probe, the beatie, the bush beast, the demon and many other thrill rides located at wonderland. so really we are lacking more theme parks and rides then ever.
-
i think that i said this many times on why australia isnt big on rides and roller coasters becasue for the main reason we dont have the population to support this. I think that dreamworld is of a large standard, i mean it isnt a crappy theme park it has the record for the tallest ride in the world (giant drop) previously had the tallest roller coaster in the world (tower of terror) and has many thrills, including the wipe out, giant drop, tower of terror, reptar, eureka, thunder rapids, cyclone, enterprise, rocky hollow and many other thrills and shows. So u see that dreamworld is a great theme park, it may lack against other parks in the world but it sure still is a great theme park, as for movie world, wet n wild, sea world, wonderland, adventure world, and both luna parks, wonderland never had the money and even at the beggining knew they werent going to do to well, both luna parks are very wealthy but can afford to build more rides from the lack of land and the problem that the sydney luna park has with the noise. Adventure world is pretty remote and very boring. Its really like a picnic park but may in time boost up, and sea world and movie world are pretty new parks. They haven been in australia long and only now are they atrting to get bigger and expand. Wet n wild already is successful and from the world is one of the best water parks. See we dont have the population and american anthusiasts know that building a park in australia would not do to well, we will only ever have theme parks in surfers or on the gold coast becasue it is a holiday destination and thats what people do. More theme parks that would be built should not be built in suburban areas.
