well on that day our friend Andy was there and so was my sister and mother to perform at dreamworld for dancing. My mum said the ride stopped for 4 hours caused by terrential rain, and strong winds which the news calls a mini cyclone. Other than that the whole park was still opened surprisingly.

Theme park theming and ride discussion
Nightshifter replied to rappa's topic in Theme Park Discussion
theres nothing much to enjoy, only the lethal weapon, scooby doo and the wild west falls. we didn't eat lunch there, we only watched the police academy, thats all there was there at the time. and simply rode the same rides a second time, but the park was empty, becasue we went at school time. Djrappa people only ride the rides not by who made the rides where the ride comes from or the production value. people ride roller coasters for enjoyment, the only ride rides for the fun of it, thats all. to me dreamworld's rides are very fun some intense and some really exciting, to me WWF is a lot of fun, but not scary, and lethal weapon would probably be the only ride up with dreamworld's rides that are exciting, fun, and intense, but you all have different opinions and this is mine. -
does anyone have any photos of luna park sydney with the old big dipper wooden roller coaster? i've never ever seen it before.

dreamworld has cyclone, giant drop, tower of terror, eureka mine ride, wipeout, rugrats runaway reptar, thunder rapids and many other thrill rides and niormal rides including a wildlife park and a water park area. Movie world has lethal weapon, scooby doo, roadrunner and wild wild west as their thrill rides, thats it, when i went to movie world we completed all rides and attractions and was home by 2:00 in the afternoon. Dreamworld, we didn't have time so we payed the extra $10 and went the next day. Wonderland can be completed in a day

read this article from the wonderland website i find it interesting: Build it BIG for Australia Day 24/01/04-26/01/04 Wonderland Sydney is hoping that it will be a case of “many hands make light work” with plans underway to build the largest ever Australian Flag in K’NEX across the Australia Day weekend. It is anticipated that the 7 metre by 12 metre flag will take close to 130,000 pieces of K’NEX and around 500 people-hours to build. However, Wonderland Sydney is confident that visitors to the park will be able to help complete the task in just three days. The Australian Flag-building activity will be offered free to Wonderland Sydney visitors (after entry) across the Australia Day weekend – Saturday 24th January to Monday 26th January inclusive. Every participant will be presented with a commemorative Australia Day K’NEX flag-build certificate as well as having the opportunity to win other great K’NEX prizes. So come and join in this unique and fun celebration for Australia Day! Image: The Henley family from Brisbane and the K'NEXpert Kate Annabelle put the finishing touches to the Australia flag model.

alright if i had to give awards out it would be: best rides: dreamworld best theming: wonderland: best water park: wet 'n' wild best scenery: wonderland and not to mention the really bad thing about dreamworld is, i think it's to cramped up, like it's very packed, i mean it's good in another way as it's easier to get to rides, but i tend to like it when things are more spread out like wonderland's. All wonderland needs now is to fill in those gaps, they have so much land p to the freeway behind the demon and the space probe, more behind the river rampage, they still have hanna babera land, in between the bush beast and the beach area, and small gaps between rides mainly in the goldrush area such as from the great balloon escape and the action arena there is so much land there to be used. my park would be planned with rides to too close like dreamworld or not to far like wonderland. the only part of wonerland and dreamworld that suceeds is the ocean parade area and transilvania. thats my opinion.

i was supposed to go, for a holiday with my cousins becasue my cousin was dancing there as well, but she hated the teacher and dropped out, so my mum thought it would be a waste to go, if all the family wasn't going, so i didn't go.

The surf hill is located to the right of the chairlift to the tobbogan ride. The new Billabong Beach is very large but smaller than wet 'n' wild's calypso beach. It's really a lazy river where you sit in a doughnut and let the river take you through the course. This is located to the right of the surf hill but the ride circles around sur hill and through the ground like a cave. The ride costs about $3 million to make and will open in february. Theres nothing really there worth going on other than the sleds and some water rides, but the park is more of a picnic place if anything.

today i head out for my first trip to jamberoo, despite a large crowd at such a low amusment park Jamberoo was a terrific day out. I personally think the tobaggon sleds are better than all roller coasters except lethal weapona and tower of terror in australia. the go cats were crap, the water activities were great, especially the double water slides and the surf hill. The whirlpool looks massive going around the surf hill and it seems there will also be a childs water playground in the centre with small water slides and water activities. the area looks really good, imagine how good it would be when it's finished. anyway the park was great but its really a one time thing. i wouldnt enjoy going there again. i only loved the toboggan sleds and all the other things were really only fun for the one time.

well i'm going to wonderland next saturday night and i'll tell you what i think abou the bush beast. I haven't ridden on the new trains yet or experienced the ride when it opened later last year, so i will make the judge on the roughness, the smoothness, and the ride overall.

WLS Update 6/1/03.......THE RED TRAIN RETURNS!
Nightshifter replied to Jaggie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
your playing dumb. You know what i mean inbetween stopping and going. The train slowed down but didn't come to a stop, some people in this forum are thick in the head. You make the effort just to write that it doesn't make sense, and in fact if you didn't get what i mean you are dumb. sorry but you are. -
Richard all i can say is that the first drop on the bush beast is painful but the rest of the ride doesn't seem to be rocky. i mean the thunderbolt was worse and the bushs beast really isn't that rocky through the second drop and after that. i know your in America and you've been on rides that are very smooth and stuff like that, but fro australian standard i think it's a mad roller coaster.
-
sometimes the weight of the carriage has a big role in the speed of a roller coaster. The heavier the carriage the faster the train will normally go. Who knows these new carriages may have ball bearings or something heavy underneath the carriage to keep it's momentum. The speed is never constant through many circuits. There could be a 1-2 km difference through each ride depending on the weight the people carry on each ride.
-
i heard this ride really isn't a maze but similar to a horror walk does anyone have any pictures of this ride?

WLS Update 6/1/03.......THE RED TRAIN RETURNS!

Flea maybe from a distance it may look like it didn't stop, i looked at the video and i thought it stopped, but not completely. The brake was probably half stuffed. -
Wonderland has won an award so has 100 other parks. come on it's not that special.
-
and thats correct and with those statistics i gave you the bush beast still tops second fastest roller coaster in Australia with it's initial speed, this initial speed aplies with all the other roller coasters. But Richard has the Giant Dipper ever had siginificant redevelopments through it's 75 + life? Like the bush beast hasn't really had a big refurbishment and really at this time it doesn't need any becasue it's not really that old, i mean they replaced a few pieces of wood here and there, but with this wooden roller coaster your talking about there must be some sort of major reconstruction.
-
keep in mind that not all the roller coasters are brand new. Bush beast would still be in the lead anyway. Becasue bush beast has aged, lethal weapon, demon they have all aged.
-
one of my favourite ride would have to be the bush beast, if you want a smooth ride, well soother ride than sit in the first 3 carriages, the back is the roughest being that the carriage is always hitting the carriage in front of it. The bush beast really isnt that bad, i think it's very much fun, it's one of the fastest roller coasters in Australia: ALL MEASURES ARE WRITTEN IN kM/HR AND ARE IN ORDER Tower of terror: 160. 9 BUSH BEAST: 90 Cyclone: 85 leathal Weapon: 80 Demon: 77.2 Corkscrew: 70 Road runner: 45.9 Scooby Doo: 44.6 Rugrats: 41.5 It also has a unique drop that sort of twists. Another large drop, a fan turn which is one of the best parts of the ride, 2 U-turns, one which is on an angle and in total 7 drops on the ride. It looks appealing to people, however its more expensive than steel roller coasters, but in my rating i would give the bush beast an 8.5/10
