Coaster Track - 2005 Rumours
Sorry Guys, but I don't get told any of the little bits. Just what is going on in general, and even if I did get told something like what company or country, I don't think that I would post it as it could get my contact into trouble and I don't want that to happen. Please remember that this is all rumor at this stage.

Coaster Track - 2005 Rumours
On the rumor posted before, it appears that there is a new coaster for the 2005 season somewhere in Australia. My source in the metal plant in NSW has told me that there will be construction on a new coaster in Oz in 2005, and a overseas company are looking for 1st class welders to help in it's construction. I thought this to be strange as I would asume that the company would allready have someone in Australia to do the welding of the ride...please remember this is only a rumor.

Dreamworld ride
All Righty Then, Let me go into the nether parts of my brain and see what I can come up with.......OK. " For all out fun and excitment, you can't beat Dreamworlds newest attraction, Australia's first flying coaster". The ride would start in the traditional way but would incorperate a horseshoe turn and a pretzel loop as well as other inversions, firsts for this style of ride. That way DW would be able to market the ride as a world's first and not upset the past history of the parks big attractions. Could go all out and have the track flying through the area of the park around Cyclone and Wipeout, with ppl being able to walk under the track on the way to the que. Just a thought from the mind of "Big Daddy"

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
Richard, The site for the new ride is not where a current ride is now standing. Rabid and I were talking about this and we both think that it sounds like we could be right as it fits into the greater scheme of things for the park. Will let you talk with him about it before I say to much more.

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
Something to get the minds working. A friend of mine in NSW works in a steel manufacturing plant and tells me when any pieces of track come through the plant. Over the X-Mas period, the plant saw two completly different types of track. One sounds like it could fit the Wild West ride and the time is right for any repairs after the fire. The second was a "test piece" to see what quality the company could get. This is ment to go into production later in the year. Could Oz be getting a new coaster in the future? Please remember to treat the above as a rumor only, until I get more info from within the parks. Enjoy

Album is no more
Have to agree with Rab on the new improvements. Nice and easy to use and big enough for us old farts to see where every thing is. Great work!

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
Have to back up the DJ on that last point. It is ok to post your opinion on something that you have ridden. But to past judgment on something you have not ridden, then you are just asking for trouble. I only speculate on the performance of rides that I have not been on, then I don't get into the above sort of trouble on these boards.

The State of Leathal Weapon
^ I believe it was how to get someone's posts removed due to swearing on the fourms, as they are no longer there. Nice call on the english teacher also....the one thing that does bug me about this site is the lack of ppl checking their spelling, where as I am just hopeless at spelling. My wife and I have an agreement, I teach our kids maths and she does the spelling and gramar. This way I can't get blamed.

Head of Wildlife Park Quits **FIRED**
Daniel has this one right on the money, and I beleive that there have been other shake ups within the park as far as staff go. It seems that a few ppl from the Queensland parks are on their way to calling Sydney home and taking up positions within Wonderland. Hope this helps the park in some way.

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
Just to add to ppl's thoughts, how about a nice little S&S Ride by the name of SWAT as a second ride for the area. This was shown on the Discovery channels show Thrill Rides 2003, last year around August. With this pair of rides in the same small area of the park as Wipeout and Cyclone, purhaps a area name change would also be in order. Just some thoughts.

The State of Leathal Weapon
If anyone thinks that the Thunderbolt was smoother than LW, then you are made of steel. I could only handle 1 ride a day on TB towards the end, but still can do up to 10 rides a day on LW and this was only just before X-mas. I still only find that the onesection of the ride that is rough is the entry to the barrol roll's as it throws the head to one side. Now I ride the LW with as loose a support as I can due to my size, (6ft 1in and about 108kgs) and never have a trouble with any headaches, and I still get them just from watching an IMAX movie. But we must remember that every one is different and handles the rides in a different way, so no two ppl will ever get the same ride. Food for thought.

Lion cubs - gone!
What if I said that I am sure the cubs have been sighted in a Brisbane shopping centre and were booked in over 6 months ago. The first thing is I am not 100% sure that they are the same cubs, but I am told they are almost the same....not beleiving this one though ppl as these cubs are from the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. Might take further looking into. Although I did receive a email card from the park 2 days before X-mas wich still had the lions included in it and also made mention of new Marvel attractions coming within the next year, useing Spiderman, Hulk and Wolverine. Something to think about.

It's Time To Go....
All info about Wonderland is from Upper Managment only. And I am told what I am allowed to say and what is not to be told to anyone. So far, all of the private stuff has come true. But that is life. Oh and just for fun....Ithinkthatwonderlandisgreatandgettingreadyforsomethingbig...just for the nightshifter fans.

It's Time To Go....
Still have not been able to get anything out of the park regaurding new rides for next year, just the same old stuff like "You will be pleased!". Still not happy Wonderland. Although here nothing changes, like Nighties spelling and the wild rumors that are ment to be true. As soon as I here it from the park, then I will beleive it to be true. As for the Beastie, the parks newest attraction, the coaster that goes no-where, a new vine support maybe, or just the parks way of saying that we don't care anymore. Merry X-Mas.

Fire on Wild West Falls
Daniele, Danny, Dann, Dan, Dude....(think that covers the bases) Ok, so sometimes I go a bit overboard and may need to lighten up, but all that I am asking for is some manors, and maybe a spell check. I think that now the point is lost is all of the huff and puff so I guess it is time to bury the hatchet ( I know where  ) and get to that beer. As far as the humor goes, I was raised in a place where ppl die or are killed for not haveing a sense of it, and I am sure my skin is thicker than yours by a long shot, and it is a good idea to skip the macho thing as I hate to damage another good looking person and make them look like me. As far as that beer goes, you can buy the first as I am sure that I will be the only one standing at the end of the night, so I want to get your shouts out of the road first, and then you will have had a leason on drinking by a real Aussie Outback Bloke. I have had the last 14 years to pratice... Now lets get back to the origial topic, or do we need to get the machine that goes "Ping" in to sort out this mess?????

Fire on Wild West Falls
I will not be continuing on with this as I have yet to have a "fight" on this or any other site over one person's opinion. And the "dude" was a pun at your previous puns on other peoples names, so now who is getting touchy? And I would choose your words carefully as I know that Richard does not like any bad language of any sort on his boards. Just a friendly bit of advice. And my reply was just to inform you of one fact, and that is the people in the know are the ones you are talking to, and now like Ian I have said my piece and will be leaving it at that. And by all means have fun, but you will find Richard draws the line at certain points so just take it easy. If someone does not want you to change their name, then don't. It is good maners and that is all. Have a nice day......

Fire on Wild West Falls
I think that we have strayed from topic so it would be nice to get back to it. And as far as the info from Rabid goes, it is 100% truth as he talks to the people that we try to everyday as part of his job. If there is any truth to anything said here about the park, Ian is one of two people on this site to tell us, ( with Joz being the other) And as far as your "typo" goes dude, I think that it happens a bit too much to be just a typo, Rabies, Shifty Mcshifty etc. Just the names that appear or shorter versions will be fine but no need to try to go overboard, as some ppl are a bit touchie about that. I think that is all we are trying to say.

Fire on Wild West Falls
As far as I know, the picture was not taken by the paper, but I was informed that a member of the private fuction had taken the picture. If I had thought about it further, I might have relised the picture could have been a still as most of the TV media use digital now instead of normal...( Even channel 9 as I found out during an interview with them last week...different story).

Fire on Wild West Falls
The alarms went off within 5-10mins of the fire starting and the fire fighters were there within 5mins of getting the first alarm. This was about the same time that some guests for a private fuction were ariving at the park. This is where the picture of the ride in the courier mail was from, not a member of the press as first thought. The reason for the alarm taking so long to go off is more than likely due to the material it was burning and the direction of the air through the ride. Let me explain a bit more. Part of my job as an electrican is to install security and fire sensors into houses for the earliest setection of fire. In order to do this the alarms must be placed in the prime position to detect smoke in the room. If the sensors are to close to the corner of a wall and ceiling then they are in a air gap, and take longer to work. In a ride like WWR it would be hard to know where to put the sensors as one spot might miss the air flow from another area. Also it is rare to place sensors into an area of extreme heat, say a motor room or air-con room as the dust and other particles will set of smoke detectors also. So if the fire started in the engine room at the back shed at the top of the hill, there may not have been any detectors in the room to set off the alarm. This is all just my thoughts on what may have taken so long, but it is best to wait and see what the official reports bring out.

Fire on Wild West Falls
^ I can understand the joke and satire is big in my books, but after meeting the gent behind AAF and now knowing who his sources are, I do feel it to be more of AAF bashing than just a joke. Once is a joke, anything more is bashing another site, which I don't approve of reguardless of the site or it's owners. Just my thoughts on the subject is all. Nothing worth worrying about, Trust Me. 8)

Fire on Wild West Falls
Try this link ppl as it shows the ride on fire. http://www.couriermail.news.com.au/common/...%5E3102,00.html And Joz, as funny as your little "bits on the bottom" of your links are, they are not entirly the truth. The AAF site does not report as you say that the ride is gone, just one member on the boards has written this in a post. A little truth goes a long way.

Future of rides
The only new attraction that was rumored to be coming to the park was a Sally Dark Ride for x-mas 2004. If there is anything else, have not yet heard of it.

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
Spin & Spew is the name given to any ride that goes around at either a high speed, or more than 3 times. Just a term that was used in my generation.

Dreamworld's new attraction - December 2004
^ May I suggest that you pruchase a video from Robb and Elissa, although I can't remember which one, as you will see the ride in action. Also ask your friends for the video of the Thrill Rides 2003 from the Discovery channel as it gives an on-board view of the ride. Looks like a great puke and spin ride, something that we are badly missing.
