  1. Hey didn't they spend heaps of money on underground corridors at Magic Kingdom so you wouldn't get a Fronteirland character walking through Tommorrowland?
  2. On the contrary there are rides out there which don't have these shortcomings.
  3. Beech Bend is up. There, it's done. Next!!! http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/US/Bowling_Green/Beech_Bend_Park/photos/sort/oldest
  4. More pics, this time from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/US/Vallejo/Six_Flags_Discovery_Kingdom/photos
  5. If your username has 1997 in it, that suggests you are pretty close to being 18, which means: -You have been old enough to have a part time job for a few years to save your own money. -Sometime this year you'd be able to head overseas without too many impediments, funded by yourself and start visting these places. Granted, car hire in the US is prohibitiley expensive for under 25s due to surcharges, which might make some parks in the US difficult to get to, but certainly: -The cluster of parks in LA -The cluster of parks in Orlando -European ones -Japanese parks -and even good ones reasonably on our doorstep (Universal Singapore, HK Disney) Are more than achievable for a young traveller without a car.

Efteling you'd go to because it has really good dark rides, a night time water show, plus they're putting in Baron 1898, a B&M dive coaster (The racing GCI looks good too!)

It appears Google Earth reveals a station in the town nearby, with a bus on a half hourly cycle to the Zoo. Google transit says a 1:45 trip from Stockholm.

With Alton you don't really need fast track if you use single rider.
  10. Funfields I'd go to because it has a few other side attractions...The alpine toboggan run in particular. Adventure park in Geelong offers very little different to WnW, and it is quite a long distance from Melbourne. If you want to ride water slides then most newer aquatic centers have some of the latest slides from Proslide or Whitewater West. The Frankston PARC has an aquasphere and constrictor. Casey race has a raft slide, and a toilet bowl body slide (The type where you fall out a hole in the middle and land in a pool) Watermarc Banyule has a Proslide Tantrum and a raft slide. Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Center has a wave pool, flowrider and standard body slide.
  11. I've uploaded the pics I took on my visit to Kings Island. See http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/US/Mason/Kings_Island/photos Use the drop down menus to filter to the rides you want to see.
  12. It would depend on what part of Michigan you are in....Cedar point is only a 2 hour drive from Detroit, and it's likely you'll be flying in there as a gateway to the state right? As for Michigans Adventure, for me that's the sort of park I'd visit if it were "On the way" or quite close to where I was, but I'd otherwhise not make any special effort for it.
  13. It opened on the 18th of December: http://www.ausleisure.com.au/news/wetnwild-sydney-celebrates-first-birthday-with-the-launch-of-nickelodeon-be/
  14. For a little while now Parkz has had an upgraded photo uploading system. It's much more streamlined than the old one. To access it, firstsearch for a ride. Then click add photos. The box on the right will appear. Drop files onto it, or click on it to bring windows explorer etc. Even works on smartphones. Then just select one or multiple files and OK. They will begin to upload and tick off. Don't close the browser window. When they are all ticked this box will pop up, where you can add a title and a caption. Try to be factual, use proper English (Since this will be published), avoid over the top language or marketing talk. In the tag box you can type in ride names....use as many tags as you need. Once have scrolled through and said what you want to say, click the save changes button. And then you're done, and we'll approve your photos. Well, not everything makes the cut. They need to be of good resolution (I guess thats not much of a problem with modern cameras, but 1000px wide would be the absolute minimum. The only photos you should upload are ones you have taken personally, so no copypasting, stolen photos etc. Also, don't submit pics if we already have one similar (We don't need any more pics of the Wild West Falls mountain for example) Also, no family happy snaps, no selfies in front of rides etc. Some examples of photos we don't approve. Please, no Instagram filters etc. Just keep it normal. No crooked photos. Or anything else low quality (blurry, discoloured, noise, crappy camera etc) Straighten them in photoshop or whatever first, adjust the brightness, contrast, colour etc so it looks good. And a simple one, make sure you have them rotated properly. We have no way of fixing this for you. This was a great photo, but sadly we can't use it in this state. Protip: Sometimes you want to upload several photos of just a bunch of different rides at the park. In this case, access the photo upload system from a "Park" page rather than a "Ride Page" This means the only tag prefilled will be the park. Then for each ride, just type in the names of whatever rides are in the photo, In this case, the breakers, and typhoon. Remember, you can tag as many rides to a photo as you need. Useful for example for panoramic shots with several rides in view. You can also tag with more than one park. For example sometimes roller coasters pass through the water park next door, so you'd tag the park the roller coaster is home to, and the water park you can see around it. Use a bit of common sense with tagging, for example in this pic of Levaithan you can see a tiny bit of the Wild Beast wooden coaster on the right in the background. Probably not worth tagging Wild Beast because then people searching for that ride would end up finding a useless pic in their results. Also, you don't need to have a ride in a photo. If it's just a pic of some nice theming or whatever else in the park, just tag the park only, and leave it at that.
  15. New pics of WnW Syd: http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/AU/Sydney/Wet_n_Wild_Sydney/photos Nickelodeon Beach in particular: http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/AU/Sydney/Wet_n_Wild_Sydney/photos/ride/1598
  16. Aquatube at WnWSyd shakes a bit too. As the saying goes, if its not shaking, it's breaking. A bit of give on rides with dynamic motion is pretty normal.
  17. I reckon Merlin could do a good job with the park. All of the properties they own seem to get pretty solid, well themed additions.
  18. Plus the other thing, even if you did replace it like for like in the same mountain, it would basically be a poor mans Scooby Doo.
  19. Australia via Florida is a perfectly legitimate itinerary for you though right?
  20. http://adventureworld.net.au/gifts,-comps-offers/fast-pass/ Check website Tim.
  21. The park could probably put in another 4 slide towers in all honesty... the park is quite spread out.
  22. So, I was here on Monday the 22nd and had a pretty good day. I arrived around 10:30 and was out by 3:30 (At that point in the afternoon a cool change/storm was clearly coming through, and warnings were played over the PA, but I'd done everything by that point so didnt feel the need to stick around) The week before Christmas is actually a good time for any Australian water park it seems. WnW GC wasn't busy, and in Sydney only the top car park was full, and it wasnt until late arvo that cars started filling the first couple of rows on the bottom one. So it wasn't dead quiet or anything, but it was I think pretty bearable considering it was holidays and very good weather. So with a lap on each slide, a couple of walks across the wave pool and a stopover for a Chicken Salad at lunch I think that means I was averaging a slide every 20 mins roughly. Tantrum/T5/Bombora are far and away the most popular, on the other hand the H2Go and 360Rush were more or less a walk on. For the 8 Whitewater west slides there was no wait for tubes, and pretty minimal waits for each slide. The complex really does suck up people, though Tropical Cyclone and Aquatube suffer a bit from their location. Halfpipe and Typhoon are far and away the most popular slides but the other two afformentioned slides often sit empty as people work their way around the main queue. But hey, people tend to ride the breakers a bit more than previously! Just on that, at the base of all towers are overhead signs for each slide which are coloured to match the slide (New signs are also beside where each slide flushes out), and new dividing rails which keep each queue separate. On the Two proslide towers and the racer tower it works quite well. On the whitewater tower it mostly works, but on the last flight of stairs people still get mixed up (To the point that the queues for Typhoon and Aquatube were "crossing over") so I reckon all that is needed is a 2nd set of confirmatory signs and coloured lines on the ground to keep the final stage of each queue in order. The new Nick theming in WnW Jr Nickelodeon Beach is pretty nifty, mostly just static sculpts, including a Spongebob Pineapple House, Patrick, Spongebob, the 4 ninja turtles (Each in various poses, one taking a photo, another doing a skateboard trick, one standing and laughing, and another lying, covered in sand with shells and seaweed positioned and sand patterned as if to be pretending to be a mermaid... and the bubble guppies (que?) Food wise, I had a Caesar Salad, Chips and drinks from the bottom terrace of the surf club, and the speed of service seemed way faster than what you get on the GC...The massive kitchen obviously helps a lot! As for my thoughts on the rides since a year ago. -Double Bowlseye is still a bit better than what it looks. Dont focus on the bowls being slow, focus on the enclosed spirals and drops out of the bowls. -Had a fully loaded ride on Curler, was OK, but I rate bowlseye ahead of it. -Riptide Is a bit of a gem, just because of how much speed it picks up. -Tantrum I still like the best, just because it goes for ages and is properly wild. -T5, 2nd favourite, but not a lot in it. Runs the best out of All the Australian Tornados since it doesnt have as much of a "bump" of water compared to the others...Plus it's dark. -Bombora, well, I wish we'd hurry up and see one on the GC since it looks so different to anything else here. The dark spiralling drop is pretty cool. -H2Go is great fun, and the placing system was going on each lane. I managed 2nd place. -Is 360Rush too intimidating for Sydneysiders? It never had a queue, but the GC one always seems to. Still prefer it to the GC version due to the see through trapdoor, smoother ride, and less water spray. -Tropical Cyclone wasn't as fast as I remember, but still leaves your head spinning. -Halfpipe seemed better than I remember, and is more or less on par with Bombora, not as big, but the smoothness and "drifting" you do makes up for it. -Aquatube. This is another really underrated slide. Deserves more love, it's brilliant! -Typhoon isn't consistently spinning rafts backwards like it used to...Seems 50/50. Again, pretty good, and the oscilations in each barrel are nice and smooth. -The Breakers. I think they're passable, but I wonder if it would make sense to pull two of them off and send them up to the Gold Coast, and then use the remaining space for a couple of new slides to add variety. Say a couple of toilet bowls or something?
  23. Are you one of those people who just flap the wings up and down too fast?
  24. Ah true, forgot about the Australian Standards issue...Explains why some newer rides in Aus have additional seatbelts and the like. Not sure I'd agree with it being too scary, given the high ridership similar rides in Aus such as Green Lantern and Buzzsaw generate.
