  1. I think the ride isn't working fully in that vid...There were full video walls on both sides working when I rode though. Still don't get the storyline at all though!
  2. At wayne manor there are some extra 3d bits on the Facade, such as over the main entrance....The style of what was being built reminded me a lot of the default art deco style park entrance in RCT3:
  3. At my last visit a bit over a week ago I got 1 from 2 for audio on GL. It's definitley there, just not consistent. Superman, yeah it was all going except for the long gone steam. The water dump was going. The "blue flower" light where superman flies in before the launch is still gone, but I think most would agree that is an enhancement. Re Frozen cokes in Sports bottles, I'd just open the main lid and stick a frozen drink straw in and drink it that way. I don't think its too cheap at all though, considering its mid winter and they are convincing people to consume a lot of soft drink with the promotion! Selling Frozen Coke in winter is akin to selling ice to eskimos, and they've done it! I finally saw Ice Age. Its not bad and didn't really feel disjointed or anything. The thing I like about these abridged 3d films (JTTCOTE, Happy Feet, this) is that I now no longer feel the need to see the full length versions.
  4. Kinda seems a bit of a meh proposal, despite its size and judging by the renderings shown on the news. All the usual buzzwords, such as "luxury hotel", "shopping an dining", "golf course", "casino" etc etc. And of course, all the buildings are those long blocky things, painted white, with lots of glass. It just comes across so generic! You'll go there, and the "shopping" will consist of the same designer stores seen at any other large modern shopping centre, just arranged in a different order. 5 star hotel? Hardly a groundbreaking offering in that market. Ditto the golf course. I'm not anti development or anything, and I wouldn't care if it got built or not, but its just such stereotypical big company stuff that its hard to get remotely excited. The Wavebreak proposal for the GC has similar feelings from me.
  5. No you're thinking of hoverboards: Anyway read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hovercraft to bring yourself up to speed on Hovercraft, which were invented well before your birth.
  6. ^Of the five parks with operating Mack Water Coasters, two of them already have flumes, and the four with Super Splashes all have flumes #jussayin
  7. ^I reckon half of these new slides made by Whitewater West are just an excuse to sell more fibreglass. The tunnel is wider, but its not like a raft is ever gonna go anywhere near the top.Anaconda and Python being the best examples.I think their tornado rip-off, the Abyss, is the most Blatant: http://www.whitewate....com/Abyss.html The dinosaur this park decided to stick on top is a nice touch: And I'm presuming the "Curl" version they make is to avoid infringing on Proslides patents: Slightly ontopic, but See the other thing WnWP got too, a baby sized version of Tornado, how cute!http://wetnwildphoen.../WetnWildJr.htm
  8. Just on that, does anyone else reckon the missiles on the "Bad Guys" float from the JL parade look like the ones that used to be in Bermuda in the scene where the aliens are dissasembling the aircraft?
  9. Check out Nearmaps i suppose: http://www.nearmap.com/?ll=-27.916168,153.318119&z=21&t=k&nmd=20120614 ...Looks like they wont interfere.
  10. Both the old Terror Canyon slides are gone completley.
  11. Exciting because people can no longer say that nothing is happening at the Bermuda site.
  12. Also this comment on the MW FB page:
  13. ^It would also mean gravity was broken if it only hit 85 km/h lol.
  14. Pics in post #7 Best thing there IMO.
  15. He didn't use enough Crisco obviously.
  16. 1 day, but I spent a couple just cos I love this style of park.
  17. There are other ways of doing preshows too that allow for a continuous flow of guests. Think like test track. You have a second queue after the preshow and they just run enough preshows so that there is a constant "supply" of guests ready to be loaded. The queue in the boarding area holds a few preshows worth of guests... By the time you are halfway through the 2nd queue another preshow group is filtering in behind you....always a buffer basically. Actually, lots of Disney rides with continuous loading use this method... Haunted mansion being the prime example, with the "stretching room" preshow... The pods on that ride are like Buzz, and never stop moving. TOT works like this too...Main queue, preshow in the library, then 2nd queue in the boiler room. Doing guests as "blocks" of 30 or so would be inefficient on this style of ride.
  18. Check on Google Earth and tell us what you find
  19. But they didn't, so it's not. Case closed.
  20. Haha that thing, It was more of an Aquatrax I guess, and in hindsight probably didn't have too great of a layout lol.
  21. Terminology is wrong anyway so far in this debate, IMO. This is a car park coaster, since it's built over a car park: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/US/Valencia/Six_Flags_Magic_Mountain/303-Scream/2,2,4354-Scream.html You can still see the parking bay lines! This is also a car park coaster http://rcdb.com/617.htm?p=4209 It's a bit of a stretch though for things that are merely next to a car park to be classified as a car park coaster, or else that would cause a large number of the big coasters out there to be classified in this manner (Big coasters often get built near the park edge to maximise visual exposure, and for ease of construction access)
  22. Maybe the staff just didn't see the rubbish betweeen the previous rider leaving and you boarding?
  23. Good point! Also, when you ride cyclone you get nice views of that ashphalt service area behind ocean parade. Not quite a car park, but ugly nevertheless. http://rcdb.com/1415.htm?p=26922
  24. If they used a dictionary attack, would motocoaster be in the dictionary? What about reefdiver1 or something?
  25. I'm just waiting for the day people start stuffing things in their underpants to avoid renting a locker
