1. Good topic, thanks, I've always wanted to have a definitive list (Or make one) of all the smaller shows in the park...Hopefully this thread doesn't get lost.
2. Agreed, I reckon most people on here just look at Cylone and laugh.
3. Knock down Eureka Mountain, and rebuild the ride as a smaller Vekoma mine train(call it the same name)... or if cheaper to do so, rebuild it as a more modern dark ride wild mouse coaster(who cares if it would be simular to Scooby, we only have one in australia at the moment, thanks to this stupid decision to close Eureka). That's the post. No mention of Temple Du Peril. +1 actually. It would be simple enough to make the cars look like little mine carts.
4. No, you said a Vekoma Mine Train. The reason I put foward the bobsled is that it comes down to Turn radii. Individual small cars would be able to pull of tighter turns. Anything with a multi car train is not going to work on a site as small as Eureka (Only about 22x50m) because then the turns become too big. http://www.gerstlauer-rides.de/products/roller-coasters/bobsled-coaster/ The Bobsled Coaster 380 fits those dimensions almost perfectly. Temple Du Peril could fit too, but it's a pretty crappy coaster in terms of layout.
5. ^Gerstlauer Boblseds are solid little product. They can do banked turns and twists a bit better than a typical mouse:
6. For starters, I still don't get people who speak English, don't understand how abbreviations work. You take the first letter of each word eg.... ABC - Australian Broadcasting Comission SW - Sea World ATM - Automatic Teller Machine LOL - Laughing out Loud WA - Western Australia PG - Parental Guidance Etc etc So its DW for Dream World. You don't abbreviate by doing DM, where you have taken the first and last letters of Dream, and forgotten 'world' all together. It's just as bad as the people who call Movie World MV... FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!!! Imagine if we took your method , it would be stupid for everything: ANC - Australian Broadcasting Comission SA - Sea World ACR- Automatic Teller Machine LGL - Laughing out Loud WN - Western Australia PL - Parental Guidance So, When DW builds this, DW pays the full cost of construction, plus a licencing fee to Dreamworks. Dreamworks are the ones who created the characters and own the IP. The characters are popular with Children, so it's Dreamworld who gets the benefit from using them to attract families to the park. It's not the same as as a sponsorship deal where the 3rd party approaches the park and slaps their name on something (Eg remember it was called the Kodak Skylink Chairlift) and gives the park money for doing so.
7. What does DM stand for? Dream Morld? Dream Mould? Dream Movieworld? Dream Motocoaster?????!! Why would you put a big enclosed box in a nice riverfront location? How would people enjoy the views to the river if that was there? Or that nice version Mack do (Storm at Etnaland) http://www.coasterfriends.de/forum/attachments/europa-news/111193d1339798426-neu-2013-mega-coaster-etnaland-etnaland-storm-2.jpg
8. KKD, is there any reason you are hyper defensive and sensitive over the slightest things? It makes the forums unpleasant for everyone if there are "Debbie Downers" around. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=post+apocalypse+photoshop&hl=en&safe=off&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=qWXcT6SKOqXAiQfEwdmuCg&ved=0CEQQ_AUoAQ&biw=1241&bih=606 Post apocalyptic photoshop images are a common thing to do. I for one think it would be an interesting thing....Theme parks are traditionally fun and quite "santised" places, so photoshopping like this would be a real contrast....Sam, I reckon find an image of Main Street USA at Disneyland and do that.
9. Bit of a loaded question. By the end it only ran once per day. When I rode it back with the bushranger show it was packed. Obviously if an attraction is deliberately cut back people will ignore it.
10. There's no "boycott". jjuttp was just being sarcastic.

13. There has been signage from opening day that people may not make the loop.
14. Agreed. At the moment I can't see why anyone wouldn't just want a decent full circuit gravity coaster at the park. They've got all the other options covered it seems.
15. ^I had to do a double take on those Animatronics. With the first one I was wondering if it was a projection screen I couldn't see the edges of...But bloody hell, they used rubber or something!
16. Mate, just stop being stupid!....Kingda Ka is 950m long and 140m high. But Superman is only 760m long and 40m high. So Kingda Ka had to have an extra] 190m of trackage, and the structure is a whopping 100m higher....Plus it is launching trains twice as fast (Which means a big scale up in the Hydraulic launch system, and we can do all this extra stuff for the same price as Superman? http://cache.rcdb.com/dcabh1c800091i16d7gpgn.jpg It doesn't matter what you thought one was going to cost, but you can't do twice as much for the same price! Surely that should have raised a little flag in your head when posting.
17. We have a topic on Illuminate here:
18. <div> </div> <div>But a Kingda Ka clone (Which wouldn't even be the fastest due to Formula Rossa) is the only way to achieve this?</div> <div> </div> <div>Buzzsaw might have dissapointed some, but at the same time that doesn't mean going to the other outer extreme and building a record breaking thrill ride in a park that only gets 1.3 Million visitors per year.</div> <div> </div> <div>There are plenty of &quot;middle of the road&quot; thrill rides that many parks have.</div> <div> </div> <div>Heck, even in our own backyard we have examples. Superman Escape...Not too big, not to small, but ticks all the boxes and retains it's popularity to this day.</div> <div>If Dreamworld did something around that scale I'm sure it would be enough to satisfy the public and fans alike.</div> <div> </div> <div>But talking about Kingda Ka's etc is just blatant foaming.</div>
19. TOT was built $16 Mil in 1997 dollars. And you're expecting to build a Kingda Ka replica for cheaper than that in 2013 dollars? Top Thrill Dragster was $25 Mil, so you're looking at at least that amount....
20. Yeah but you were saying there was nothing for the thrill seekers. Repeat, nothing, and that simply isn't true. Remember that some people might only come to qld once per year, if that, so the run off a new attraction should be at least that long to capture more of the market. Once they've all had their holidays etc, then you build a new once to get them to all come back again.
21. <div> </div> <p>I know some were dissapointed by Buzzsaw being a fairly simple ride, but the thing is less than 12 months old! I think it's being utterly unrealistic to say they should have opened another thrill ride in this timeframe.</p>
22. ^There are 10 six flags branded theme parks in the US, so if you only say "Six Flags" without the full park name it just causes confusion.
23. Fixed. http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/info/parkInfo.aspx
24. Sounds like Teeny Weeny at Tusenfryd:
25. Looks like Cyborg/Victor Stone will be one of the characters featured in the ride then.
