  1. Nobody said they did.
  2. A post from 2005: Go Joz! I think all that matters is that the vehicle is slow/stopped when in front of a screen. It could be as fast as it wanted between screens.
  3. Just on the topic of Shorts, anyone else seen those Merrie Melody songs on the big screen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un6u6y3EuR0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpypXPe1XHo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km3GDSJa36Q&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=km3GDSJa36Q&feature=related
  4. The earlier models don't.
  5. Serious question, but have you got pics of this setup Sounds pretty nifty.
  6. Both the park, and Wyncenuros are making errors. -A 30th of June 2012 Expiry is not a "year of fun". -At the same time a 30th of June expiry is not 7 days away from now, its 39 days.
  7. 3D Films in general:
  8. Fair enough, but why would anyone want another Super Hero themed attraction this year anyway? There are other movie themes/genres out there.
  9. Pregnant women aren't allowed to do much anyway at the best of times.
  10. Well not 18.1 m, even without asking! Height is a pretty big issue, because the thing that makes this type of ride what it is, is a big screen taking up your whole field of vision.
  11. The I ride needs 18.1m of height according to the Vekoma site http://www.vekoma.co...id=99&Itemid=57 Superman is 40m, so the building would roughly need to be half the height of Superman to fit the I-Ride. http://www.parkz.com...-Escape_004.jpg http://www.parkz.com...-Escape_014.jpg As we can see from the pic, even the tallest part of the Batman building; The library, is say only 1/4 (10m ish?) so in your dreams basically. To fit an I-Ride you'd need a building a tad taller than the big laser room warehouse on Scooby. How? You'd have two side by side, so what would you cut out from the sides of each unit? I mean, thinking logically anyway, if the current building is only had 4 small simulator pods with screens not much bigger than a home projector, you certainly aren't going to fit simulators with big IMAX dome type screens with 3 levels of seating, so not sure where the idea came from Also, being more accurate: See the smaller doorway between the two roller doors on the right. The door would have a head height of 2100mm so I'd guess 6m or so for the roof?
  12. I don't get why everyone is saying the harness is too tight on the legs, like as if its something they've never felt before....Wipeout has been running since 1993 and that thing has the tightest harness out of anything!
  13. No, I don't put my hands in a position where they could be pinched or trapped underneath awkwardly (Since the harness cant reverse unless the attendant does it) I sort of sit down and have my hands out at say 11 oclock 1 oclock. I get my harness down before the attendant has a chance anyway, even seated in the front. A lot of people seem to struggle against the resistance, but I regularly do lat pulldowns etc so it feels no different to that.
  14. I think 'fun park' is the most appropriate term in General. Been to 3 out of the 5, all awesome when you are 12-13 years old. Though, I'm sure I'd stop into Gumbuya if I was in the area and try out that concrete toboggan.
  15. Has anyone else seen Storm at Etnaland yet? http://www.parksmani...yout-02-low.jpg http://www.parksmani...0512a-Copia.jpg Basically a Mack version of Intamins MegaLite, with a barrel roll at the end and lap bars only, and a decent 800m length. All of the airtime, but with none of the reliability issues of an Intamin biscuit. I want one for DW!
  16. I thought he was talking about Tony Lines because he quoted a post about Tony Lines
  17. ^ http://www.aalara.co...rd-of-directors Took 5 secs to find.
  18. But surely if they just clone the Orlando version (Sans dueling dragons) then there should be no issue, since she approved the concept that currently exists.
  19. Shambhala looks pretty much identical to any other B&M hyper over the hills IMO. They're all designed to run at 0g over those sections.
  20. ^Indeed, Supertubes is a waterslide, not a roller coaster.
  21. Can someone post a screenshot before I go through registering?
  22. I used the one at USF, and made a Vanilla Hi-C, it was quite good
  23. I know about Alton, Thorpe, Chessie etc , I guess when I read Euro that triggered continental Europe in my mind.
  24. And if you looked closely, you'd notice it was actually 8 screens in total, interspersed by those crappy blacklight sets: 1) Coming out of tunnel, racing along cliffside road. 2) Bouncing through rainforest. 3) Snowboarding down the mountain and escaping avalanche backwards. 4) Short ice cavern, falling off cliff into sea, chasing behind the red stingray. 5) Volcano 6) Chasing horse across desert, which morphs into a city. 7) Character rolls up in a ferrari and says "Enough fun and games, time to finish this, winner takes all!" (Short scene) 8) Final race through arena where the roads keep switching. There's not a lot you can do in terms of downscaling a ride like this. On a coaster of course you can just slow it down and make the turns tighter. But 4D rides are built around the human field of vision and if you've got a car of 8-12 people then that always implies a minimum size for that to work, and a setback of the car from the screen and so forth.
