  1. A week and two days? I think that amount of time is pretty much perfect... At a minimum it means a full roster cycle of staff would run the ride dealing with real guests, so when the 26th rolls around, guests coming that day specifically and onwards will recieve better service. Not like DW, where BS wasntveven handed over, and didn't open on time.
  2. Soft openings are not bizzare.
  3. I'd put it down to everyone being too busy. ..."Our" ticket booths?
  4. So, how many people thought they'd go down today, and got spited?
  5. ^It has been pretty stable. When it débuted it came #16, and has been consistently a high ranker. Over the years the minimum number of riders to qualify in the poll has gradually risen. I did find it quite odd when people were saying Buzzsaw was the best thrill in Aus, when identical rides in the US and Europe aren't even cracking the top 100.
  6. Yeah, interesting about the scaffolding, it looks like they are actually doing something serious in the station. What though? I do think the fencing in this pic looks a little 'low security'...Easy to jump, unless they plan on putting a gate on the existing bronze coloured fencing that gets locked at night.
  7. There have also been ones added at the start of each of the MCBRs. It was overspeeding pretty severely in the earlier vids, as aweseome as it looked.. I doubt in day to day operation it would have been rounding the first curved incline so quicky, or doing the outside banked turn so fast.
  8. ^Nah, not at all. That's what makes it so funny.
  9. The rides trains are smaller than a normal subway train too, it's worth noting.
  10. Dude, there are thousands of No Limits rides out there on YT that will never get built in real life, why is this double loop buzzsaw any different? Maurer Sohne don't offer it as a standard layout, so what are the odds DW would ask for a custom one? Answer: 0%.
  11. Can anyone confirm what the image on the gobo actually was. And +1 to your post Joz. Its like when Everest got rid of the bird on a stick. Better of without it.
  12. Agreed, a little green to be Perth in that pic isn't it? I thought Perth was more like this: http://g.co/maps/csca3
  13. Jordanians are Star Trek fans? Guess that's why there's such an abundance of 30 virgins for everyone in paradise.......except they are over weight, pizza faced males.
  14. ^Needs to be some yellow Sinestro recycling bins though.
  15. ^There was also some steam from the pipes that fracture on the first section. Steam would also rise up from the floor in the fake station scene.
  16. The 15th was only ever a date said by an S&S guy at IAPPA, not a park official. That date could well only refer to what S&S have to do. Ride could well be ready to go, but if landscapers and builders doing stuff like stairs and paths aren't done, then what can you do?
  17. Australians: The only enthusiasts who like ghostrider en masse. (I like it too though for the record)
  18. Qldtaw, how was the coaster bit of Terminator lame? I thought it was pretty fast paced, twisty and exciting :s
  19. http://travel.usatoday.com/destinations/dispatches/post/2011/12/harry-potter-coming-to-universal-hollywood-expanding-in-orlando/579601/1 Just to confirm what Westicles said.
  20. Fixed.
  21. You never saw our last Parkz update? the segments of trough that originally arrived were bright green. It was 2nd hand.
  22. Lol, they named it "Squirt Plunge".
  23. I think it's gonna have to run reasonably fast regardless, why would they bother banking the near flat turn out of the 2nd MCBR if cars weren't going to go through quick under normal conditions?
  24. Sorry, what I mean is that the roof of the GL station is not fabric/membrane like main street, its a solid material which is dense foam in the middle, with aluminium or steel sheeting either side (Hence being called a "sandwich panel") You use them in places where you want a big span of reasonably lightweight roof without intermediate supporting structures.
